I wanted to write a quick review of XoticPC and my experience dealing with them while ordering my new Sager NP8150. When I first started putting together my computer I had a few questions, I opened the online chat and was pleasantly surprised to be connected almost immediately to a real human being, Hutsady K. He was extremely helpful, and was the rep for my order. Once I had decided on my specs I sent him the list of customizations to see if a rushed build was possible and was told that all parts were in stock.

Unfortunately it took a couple days for me to be able to submit my order as there was an issue with my credit card and by the time I submitted my order (October 27th) I was notified that the GTX 580M card had been backordered until Oct 31. Shortly after receiving this e-mail I was contacted by the lovely Heidi (by phonecall) who walked through my order, ensuring that no mistakes had been made and that I understood the options I had chosen for my machine. It was definitely a nice touch, it ensures that the customer will receive exactly what he/she wants and protects both parties interests. I removed the rushed build since I wouldn't be receiving it in time because of the backorder and Heidi was already on the same page and had suggested this, they really keep the customers best interest in mind.

So Oct 31 was a Monday, and by that Thursday (Nov 3rd) I received notification that my order had shipped! Upon looking at the tracking, I saw that it had actually shipped out on the 2nd, so even without the rush it took only 3 days to build and ship, and by Friday it was at my house in Canada. Pretty impressive. By this time I was already out of town at work but hey, what can you do. I also received a separate tracking number for an accessory I ordered (external optical drive) which had shipped out from a different location, it didn't arrive until Nov 10th which happened to work out perfectly for me since that's the day I got home from work. Now here I am typing away happily on my new NP8150.

If I had to nitpick something I would say that the backorder was a little annoying because I read that I should send in my customization info before ordering to make sure a rush build is possible, I submitted my order over the live chat and it took literally about 5 seconds and he said that everything was in stock, this really made me feel like my order wasn't actually reviewed, and sure enough when I finalized my order a couple days later the video card was backordered. Now for all I know it did go out of stock in those couple days, and I understand things like this happen in the computer business and really, everything still came together so quickly this is a minor gripe.

Overall I highly recommend XoticPC and I'm very satisfied with my new machine! I'll be using them for all my future laptops and have already recommended them to some work mates in the market for new computers. Thanks again to Hutsady and Heidi.

Thanks for your kind words! I will pass this onto Heidi and Hutsady, they will surely appreciate it. Lead times are pretty short now, machines are going out quickly. Enjoy the machine and let us know if there is anything we can do for you. :)
