A not so successful experience when ordering through Xotic.

Ordered 9150/7970M 2.5 wks ago and still P1, of course others who ordered the same system after me already have received theirs, but that is par for this course.

Informed yesterday that my shipping address was not a "verified" address with cc provider. My bad, thought it was. It is a business amex with a PO Box billing address which means ANYTHING that is ever charged has to go to another address (can't ship to PO's). Never questioned on any other purchase in the last 4 yrs but it is Xotic policy and clearly stated.

Responded immediately (20 mins) please call and I will provide another card. Also followed up with the original cc provider to add verified address. Responded to Xotic a second time that the original card now has the verified shipto address. Notified of the problem at 5pm and responded twice with two different resolutions over the next 15 hrs.

Solution: Told today to cancel order and restart with another online order.

I am dumbstruck. I mean to verify a cc takes approximately 1 minute, I do this all the time. Apparently this is too much effort and it is easier to cancel a order that has been in process for over 2 wks then simply reverify? Symptomatic of the handling of this entire process.

Between this and listening to the bs explanations on how Sager is really handling the 7970M orders in the most efficient way possible I'll take a pass rather than restart.

For those that have successfully made it through sager-reseller-roulette congratulations.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal. I've also recently placed an order with XoticPC for a Sager and the order is in phase 1 at the moment. It's only 2 days behind the provided estimate right now so my hopes are still high. Best of luck with your search and here's hoping my order won't end up the same way.

That's for security, a lot of companies do that. They only ship to a verified address used by the payment method and they won't ship to PO Box, since you have to sign for it.

Next time, just take advantage of the 3% cash discount, and then you can have it shipped wherever you want.

I am sorry to hear of this. We list in several locations in our checkout that we can only ship to the billing address or a shipping address that is notated on the card. It is completely normal to ask a customer to place a new order so that new Credit Card information is transferred to us through our encrypted payment page on our website and processed from there. This way the payment is transferred in the most secure fashion. Additionally you would not lose your position whatsoever.

I don't understand why make statements of "For those that have successfully made it through sager-reseller-roulette congratulations." Orders are flowing through production just as they have done on every other pre order over the last 10+ years we have one them. I am sorry you feel this way but not only us but Sager also has years of experience with pre orders. This is not the first time we have had a pre order as many of you know.

Yes, I did mention it was my fault. Your policy is prominent and clear.

Why cancel and reorder? I clearly point out, both to you and your representatives, that the original card NOW has my shipping address verified. Is my original information somehow missing now? It's safer to resend my information a second time?

If I may offer a suggestion as this was really my primary issue. Since you allude to the fact that this is your normal process can I suggest in future correspondence you make mention of this? A little clarification may go a long way in understanding.

I have no doubt orders are flowing. I reference chance as actual customer order dates seem to have little bearing on when you may actually receive your unit. You have responded to enough questions regarding this in the 200+ page 7970M Reseller thread to know what I am speaking about.

I have said my piece and consider it concluded. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
