    Hi,

I recently bought my first laptop online. There is a lot of companies asking for your dollar. This review is for people like me, who really couldn't find out the info on the companies

    I ordered a Sager NP8278-S (Clevo P170SM-A) , I added the faster hard drive, a bluray burner and 880m and a 2yr warranty. :) I hope to have a review soon

I will post a reply when I get the pc but so far A+++++++ GENTECH PC!!!!!!!

    My research and buying experience.

I first called Xotic PC; I spoke to Derek and he was very nice and helpful. I was really in the whole too many options and dont know what to pick phase. The website is good and has lots of options. What spooked me from buying from them, was when you place the order it only lets you get free shipping or the 3% discount. If you read their small print it implies you cannot get both. Not too sure how this works. They were also had the best deal by $ 20. If the confirmation email had the real price with free shipping and discount I would have bought from them. This is a sales opp for them. By the time they sent me an email to buy the laptop , I already bought it from GentechPC.

After Xotic PC, I called PowerNotebooks, I think I spoke to Abe. He was very helpful and he really really really like MSI.He even email some recommendations. What made me move on is I sent an email but he never replied.May be he was on vac or out sick . ???? I ended up asking the questions in the public forums to get my suggestions and answers.

Then I found Gentech :) I bought it from Ken @ GentechPC- I called them spoke to Ken; He answered my questions and gave me a good feeling on what I wanted to get. Thats what I was looking for some direction. When they sent me the order confirmation email , I called to pay by wire and Ken even priced match Xotic :) I will post a reply when I get the pc but so far A+++++++ GENTECH PC!!!!!!!

    Hey there,

Might have been some confusion as to what was happening for your order. We can definitely get both applied and looks like that's what Jacie had updated you in her email. What we were trying to inform you of prior to giving you payment instructions is you had opted for a payment method that didn't jive together with the secure payment and wire transfer. Reason being the wire transfer once arrived is ready for production right away upon arrival. Secure payment is offered to alleviate check clearing times where you order would normally not be progressing in production while it clears. With secure payment and check payment we can place the authorization hold on the card while that check clears and makes it so that we can begin the build for you right away as opposed to waiting for the check to reach its clearing time which can be a longer wait.

Good to hear you found a machine though. That's the end result everyone wants and don't hesitate to let us know if you need any help in the future.
