==========================================================
Above is my order placed with Mythlogic on the 20th or 21st of April. I corresponded with Josh Tacey through emails and he has been very helpful with my questions. When there were problems with my credit card, he explained that their system did not like international credit cards and may have some hiccups, which was a relieve to know it is not a problem with my bank. He did something for it to work and the next day everything went smoothly.
5 months ago, I was reluctant to have Mythlogic as a reseller option because after comparing the prices, they do seem to charge a small premium over all the other competitors in the forum. To me, I was not able to justify the charge and decided to save a bit by going with Malibal which had a good reputation. Not saying that the other resellers like Xotic or Powernotebooks are bad, but they did not offer Malibal's Canadian warranty. I will not go into detail on my experience with Malibal since it is already explained in a separate thread (click here for thread). After my unpleasant experience with Malibal, I decided to try Mythlogic.
Advantages of Mythlogic to me so far:
1) I am sure everyone is busy at this time but they managed to reply to my emails in a matter of minutes. To be fair this may vary from CSR to CSR, and my praise goes to Josh Tacey.
2) There was no verification form for my credit card and I was informed personally that my order was placed.
3) Josh Tacey took the liberty to comment that there will be delays on the Nvidia cards of about 2 weeks, and because of the delays I will receive my system in May after Ivy Bridge is out. Fortunately, it will not be a hassle for me, Mythlogic will upgrade my chip to the Ivy Bridge equivalent at no extra charge. This here is what I call golden service since I totally forgot about the IB chips. For a comparison, Malibal did not offer this after I was informed of the delays.
4) I like how Mythlogic gives me the option of Slappa gear and Razer mouse. Since last year, I already planned to get a Slappa 2 sleeves bag to house both my old and new laptop. Having able to have it in the order saves me extra shipping cost if I was to place another order with Slappa. Their prices are better as well including the Razer mouse. Too bad no keyboard though, will be a great all-in-one.
5) The order status on their page has a "[?]" beside it for you to click on, it will bring you to the following:
What does this status mean?
Processing - Your order has been recieved and is being verified.
Pending Payment - If your order is here, we are currently waiting for payment (usually from a check or wire transfer)
Summoning - Your order is having parts allocated, and parts are being ordered if we don't have them.
Shell Allocated - The main shell for your order has been designated and reserved, some parts may still be pending.
Pending Parts - All the parts of your order have been ordered and reserved, and we are currently waiting for them to arrive.
Hardware Build - All the parts have arrived and the machine is being assembled.
Burn-In and Test - The machine is being loaded with Windows and run through a series of benchmarks to stress the components
Ready to Ship - Your order is packed up and waiting for pickup!
Shipped - Your order is on it's way!
This is very good because at no time am I required to play a guessing game with what their status imply and will not need to write extra emails in to inquire about it.
6) An agent by the name of Jeff called me today to inform me about possible further delays on the Nvidia card. There is a good chance I will receive it on the 17th or the 18th (I need it on the 15th for Diablo 3). I was upset but at the same time relieved to know that Mythlogic actually cared enough to not let me wait in vain. I was called again in the evening by Jeff again, he managed to double check and confirmed that there will be no extra delays. Will be able to receive my laptop on the 15th or 16th of May. I am not sure if this is a company requirement to update me through calls or if this is a professional gesture from Jeff, either way I felt like someone important to them (a VIP you may say).
Experience thus far
I am spending my hard earned money on something I hold of high value and the CSR people at Mythlogic obviously understand this and ensure that I am left worry-free. I will update this post later when I receive the laptop and test drive it on Diablo 3 (I know D3 is not that demanding but I plan to use the laptop for 3 years at least). Hope my experience will help out the other members here.

and yes, I must admit it's a neat little option they've got there, always nice where the several of thousandths of $$$ are heading towards.
>implying you are hinting towards a special resellers -
Great to hear! Glad Myth is working out for you. Like you said, they've got a bit of a premium, but they're customer service is fantastic. Since they're a smaller shop, their QQ is top notch also. I remember last year an NBR user commented about his trip to their store, saying that they literally go over their panels with a magnifying glass to insure their quality. Good stuff.
-
I placed an order with Mythlogic a week back, but I'm opting to wait for the new ivy bridge i7s, as well as the 7970m cards. Needless to say, they've been very patient and helpful with me changing my mind. Actually I know what I want, their new Nyx's are just not coming soon enough!!
I can't go back to the real world man. I can't go back to HPs customer service trying to sell me a new laptop just because I need a new hard disk, or telling me to push the restart button when I tell them the mother board's not working. -
i too placed an order about a week ago.they were able to reply to my emails within a day or so at most(thank you josh tacey).i made changes to my order by emailing them and they also replied to me after closing hours as well(email).im happy with their customer service so far.mythlogic rocks!
-
Glad to see you're having a good experience with Mythlogic. I, too, have been happy with their customer service and overall communication. After contacting a couple resellers, it was pretty easy to see the difference.
-
I was always surprised to send off an email at 230a and get a reply from Josh at 235a lol. Does the man never sleep? maybe he doesn't roll into work until noon lol
-
-
I too have nothing but great things to say about Mythlogic thus far. I have zero doubt who I will turn to when I eventually purchase a Sager notebook. Thanks Josh and Jeff (thus far, 2 that I've had contact with).
-
It seems Josh and Jeff are the main people everyone seems to talk to. But I have had an awesome experience with Mythlogic. I bombard them with questions and calls, but they are always patient, have an answer, and never seem to be in a hurry. I ask why? Considering (I assume) they are a small corporation.
. -
By the luck of the draw most of the forums customers always seem to talk to me (Josh) or Jeff. But we have other guys in the company who do a variety of tasks from sales, to marketing etc. But we all handle questions and the like when they come in, so because we don't have that kind of ridgid structure and typically once you get someone its the same someone you talk to throughout the process some guys here talk to customers more often =)
Also we all wear a lot of hats around here, but we are of the mindset of you are buying a premium product that we are going to take a lot of pride in building for you. So YOU are the customer we work for YOU, the only time we are in a hurry is when you are in a hurry otherwise we have nothing but time for you the customer, because you are the reason we are here, and we never ever forget that. -
I plan to drop 3G on a new Desktop laptop.
I'll give u guys the 1st call. Is your sales rep available on Sunday?
I also plan to paint my laptop lid with some guild war 2 art work. -
Great, we can quote out some paint for you too. -
I had not heard of Mythlogic either until I saw them in these posts. After extensive research of their company ( both on NBR and externally), the care they take into building the unit (Once I read this I was pretty much sold, I asked myself WHY do other companies not do this: https://www.mythlogiccorp.com/laptop_qa.php ) and the attentive responses to my absurd amount of questions (amazingly 1 response from Josh was at Midnight my time. I was not expecting that!) I decided to place a pre order with Mythlogic. Now its just the waiting game for the HD7970M's.
I have gone back and forth between an MSI with a GTX670M (not wanting this card BUT waiting to see when/if they will have the GT70 with a 675M to a Samsung with a GTX675M (wishing it had the 7970M but only to find out that the 7970M is for the foreign models) to the system I reserved from Mythlogic below. My decision is finally made, I am done shopping. any more research, I will be on overload.

So I've been googling around and I haven't found any recent examples of the badging that Mythlogic must put on the machines.
Do they put just a logo on the outside of the screen or on the inside and outside like many others? -
-
Just Order my Mythlogic Laptop.
Though I really wanted a paint-job. Their Chassis won't arrive until mid-may.
Anyway I'm going to make a thread following my built.
Here's my built.
Price: $3,000 -
That’s a nice setup Bsan89, congrats. If I didn’t need a notebook that was somewhat portable, I would go with a setup similar to yours (SLI/CFX and a desktop CPU). The size (1-2 inches thicker) and weight (4+ lbs not including the size of the 1 and possibly 2 power bricks) difference is too much for me as I lug my notebook from home to work and back every day. Of course I do travel and take my laptop on some of the trips.
-
That's going to be a beastly set up!
I see the 7970M isn't on their configuration page for that model. It should only be ~$200-250 more to go to xfire 7970M's Unless there's a reason you want to have nvidia that is. -
-
I do the same, I'm a network admin. I plan to bring this laptop to work & take it home & I like to keep my room small & clean. I travel at-least once a year for business to train over-sea worker for a couple months. This laptop should keep me company.
I can tell you for sure, this laptop is staying away from my lap.
I plan to have kids. So on the desk it shall go. -
I plan to have kids. So on the desk it shall go"
I had a dual SLI back in the day (sounds like a long time ago but it was only 3 years or so ago. In the ever changing computer world, that is ages ago), it was a XPS17 red Dell gaming laptop. That thing was a beast and man was it big. For me, I want something that will #1 Last for at least 3 years (like my Dell Precision M6400 has) #2 Somewhat portable as I already carry an Asus EP121 tablet and various other electronics with me. TSA has a field day with me when I go through security. I travel quite extensively overseas. #3 will tackle games at high res when I have time to play them and #4 is fast as I do dabble in Photoshop.
I have not researched enough but everytime I saw dual SLI's, there were always two power bricks offered. I read somewhere that you shouldnt really need two BUT every time I selected SLI (this was when I first started shopping around a few months ago before I realized how big the true "desktop" replacement notebooks are) it always stated + 1 additional power brick and adapter. Maybe that was only MSI . . . -
Just an update, Josh is awesome in all of my correspondence with him as well. Granted, not a HUGE laptop purchase or anything, but even something very minor, they're more than willing to help.
-
Damn, went looking through the Mythlogic FaceBook and saw pics of some of the laptops they have painted. Now I am damn curious to know how much it costs to paint something like their Chaos 1212. The logo looks awesome as well.
-
When I inquired about the paint job in another thread, here's the info they gave in case you're curious:

Hrm.... wierd that the the pollux 1612 doesn't have the option of 4x2GB like the specs you have. Was looking for just straight black on the lid... with no logo at all. Wouldn't mind mythlogic logo on the wristpad or under the screen. Guess I gota check out the facebook page...
Edit: actual color doesn't matter on lid, just wanted it blank. -
Mythlogic definitely has quality care and customer service down pat. They really give you that level of detail and care you would expect from a much more prominent (and more expensive than Myth) boutique like Falcon Northwest, Origin or Doghouse Systems.
-
-
You guys are making yourselves known. Definitely heard of Origin and Falcon long before I heard of Myth or any of the resellers for that matter.. Don't know if you've noticed, but Myth is pretty much the only reseller I promote on here because I've experienced what you guys do, and I'm a firm follower.. Keep up the great work!
-
I've put together a system, paid, and will officially be a convert as soon as the 7970m arrives. I have been incredibly happy with the service thus far. My only dilemma is debating changing from the p170em to the p150em before they start building it.
So long HP! -
So far on the forums I have been pretty impressed by mythlogic. I do like how answers are clear and percise. Because of this I am actually looking into purchasing my next laptop with them because they do seem to know answers instead of forwarding it on. Very much appreciated.
-
I recently ordered a P150EM with Mythlogic as well and so far they have been great in my limited dealings with them. I had a couple of minor questions that they promptly replied to. I also contacted them on Monday of this week in order to upgrade my cpu and change it to Ivy Bridge; they updated my order immediately and told me they thought they would still be able to meet the build schedule.
Looking forward to receiving it... I might even make an unboxing video, since they seem to be few and far between. -
Finally its may.
Hopefully they get the stuff they need from AMD & Clevo in a few week to built my laptop.
It suck to see $3G missing from my bank account but no product. -
bsan89 - I have the exact same feeling! I ordered a p170em from Myth, just waiting (and waiting) on the 7970M. Counting down the days, I wish I had to travel between now and the end of the month. That always helps to distract me when I have to wait for something.
I am also hoping my existing laptop makes it. It is not doing so well in this last month stretch of shopping for a new notebook. -
I just got an email from them about my Nyx 7212. Its delay.
I may have to cancel this pre-order as I like to have my laptop in crossfire.
The only to do that is with the x7200 chassis but I don't want an i7 960.
Does anybody know if the 1st gen i7 960 (3.2ghz Quad Core) perform better than the New Ivy Bridge 3610qm? (2.5ghz Quad Core, 3.6ghz Turbo) -
According to benches done by Toms Hardware and Notebookcheck, the 3610qm performs better in the benches I was able to compare.
3dmark vantage: 21000 vs 16000
pcmark vantage: 15000 vs 10000

Man, I'm kind of embarrassed to keep thanking these guys, but to avoid spamming your mail, I just want to say I've received my W110ER Chaos 1212, in full working condition, and with some surprising items, so I really appreciate it!
Also, the Mythlogic branding is , I knew I should have gotten it painted... -
Glad you're enjoying the laptop. -
-
I wish I had painted it though! -
Mythlogic offers the best customer service, im glad to read all the good comments. So far it seems like myth will have many repeat customers, myself included.
-
They do have excellent customer service, but it comes at a slight premium. IMO, it's totally worth it because their CS is invaluable.
-
Just want to throw a kudos out to Mythlogic. No, they didn't cut me a decent deal But I was able to get the nice matte screen no problem and immediately, since I broke my stock one.

The Mythlogic experience thus far.
