An EVOC P775DM3-G that I ordered from @hidevolution was delivered midday yesterday. In an earlier thread in this forum I described the great service, both pre- and post-sale, that @hidevolution provided.

Today Mr. @Phoenix volunteered to help setup my system after I expressed reservations (more like disgust, actually) for my first experience configuring my very own Windows 10 computer. This was a situation I had carefully avoided. However, if you want full Windows support for the latest hardware it’s inevitable.

To my amazement, @Phoenix spent many hours completely transforming my system. Using remote support, he discussed and demonstrated each change that he made. After the magic was complete, what was Windows 10 now has an interface and behaves like Windows 7. But under the covers it includes the latest drivers and key features from Windows 10. What it doesn’t include is the Microsoft security and privacy exposure. He eliminated the nonessential feedback and telemetry included by Microsoft and other vendors such as nVIDIA.

In addition, he added and organized a large number of utilities. In many cases, he provided choices. For example, when we discussed video players, I mentioned some that I have used. He told me about the Smooth Video Project (SVP) which works with video plays to improve the frame rate. In most cases, it will increase 30 fps to 60 fps playback. Obviously, a claim like that requires proof. @Phoenix downloaded a video clip, since my new system didn’t have any, and demonstrated it. I don’t know how it works, but I decided it was worth the $15US to install it. It still works, so I’m satisfied with that decision.

The amount of help @Phoenix provided and his level of expertise were simply amazing. I asked him what I could do in return. He said that I owned him nothing except to pay it forward. Members of the EVOC forums help each other. I’ve seen many message threads that demonstrate that is true.

    Thanks again @Phoenix!

Thank you very much Joe. This is very kind of you to write all this and I was happy to help. I did not expect this review or anything in return but this comes as a very pleasant surprise!

    All the best to you
