Hi guys, I've just ordered a NP8130 from Mucro Asia, one of the two Sager resellers here in Singapore. Since this is my first time ordering a Sager laptop from this company (or at all), I've got a few questions...
To anyone who has ordered from Mucro, how is the customer/after-sales service? Also, how long did yours take to get shipped to your house? How does it compare to SGCubeHub?
To the multitude of US resellers who ship internationally here, is it possible for me to get a estimate of the shipping costs to Singapore, and are there any other extra charges involved should I order one from the US and ship it here?
Thanks guys!

Hey six3oo, I'm from Singapore as well. I have heard good and bad things about both companies and there is some bad blood between them due to some disputes and accusations on the HWZ forums.
I believe there are a few forumers who have purchased from Mucro over here and things have been quite smooth sailing for them, so I wouldn't worry too much. You may want to check out the Sager thread at the lowyat.net forums as well as since there are quite a few active members over there who had ordered theirs from Mucro.
I personally got mine from illeGear in Malaysia and have them ship it over to a friend's house before hand carrying it back to SG. Admittedly, I do have a few squabbles with them over some issues, mainly with the LCD screen, but within SEAsia I do think they offer the most comprehensive warranty as they do cover shipping back to Sager in USA for free under warranty if there are any issues which they cannot resolve on their end.
You need to pay for shipping back to them from Singapore to Malaysia on your own though, but just use SingPost and it comes down to around $20 for a 5 kg parcel. Everything else regarding shipping and warranty will be covered by them.
Mucro should be good as well though, it was the other reseller I considered when purchasing my 8150.
Lastly, ordering from a US reseller will come out cheaper even when our 7% GST is factored in, but you lose out a lot on warranty due to shipping costs. The amount that you save by ordering from a US reseller comes to around $250 -$300 when I checked months ago, which basically covers you for one round trip to US and back should you need to ship your laptop for warranty repairs.
There's a lot of pros and cons and you must weigh them carefully. In my very personal opinion, I do think that Clevo builders like Malibal and Mythologic, as well as Australian reseller Logical Blue One generally have a slightly higher QC standard than Sager itself simply because they are smaller boutique shops and don't have to bulk churn out as many laptops as possible within the same time frame, therefore they can afford to cherry pick their parts a bit more.
At the same time, your correspondence will also belong to the same organisation that is building your laptop, as opposed to a Sager reseller, who has to contact Sager and wait for their updates should anything arise and then get back to you again.
That said, my 8150 is Sager built and by no means is it lacking in QC either.
Good luck, don't overthink things and just wait for Mucro a little more. If I am not wrong they probably do not reply your emails as frequently as you'd like but things should work out in the end -
Thanks for the truly informative reply! I especially liked XoticPC's option to remove the Sager branding, I did add that into the "remarks" box when I placed my order with Mucro but I doubt they'd bother D:
Anyone who has bought from Mucro care to share your experience?
P.S. How do I +1 Rep you? Or do I even have the "power" to do that? I'm rather new to the forum -

Ah don't bother about the rep thing, I post here to help and not for anything else.
