Thanks Hustady for answering all my questions through the phone. Another question would actually be if it was time for parts gathering, then the 7970M from Sager arrives/gets released, can I call or ask you to upgrade my GPU?
Thanks!
-
You should be able to make changes and upgrade to the 7970m up until the day it's shipped. Xotic is a flexible company that should be able to accommodate this.
-
That's great! Hopefully the video card would be released before it gets shipped then.

Congrats on the order Armament, and you're very welcome for the help!
As misterhobbs mentioned we can change components any time before it ships out. Just let me know if you do decide to change things up. -
Hi Hutsady! Well, in terms of changing/upgrading my GPU, I would seriously love to do so if the HD 7970m gets released before the order becomes un-upgradeable. It would really be nice if you could inform me when the HD 7970m arrives? I will be checking everyday anyway just to see where the status of the order is at and if it's still not shipped I will call you or Erin (she emailed me and said that she will be the one assisting me with this order) and personally confirm the upgrade.
Again, thank you! -

Yup just let either me or Erin know. She's doing the payment part of it, so either one of us can change it up.
-
Hey Hutsady, please check my email/pm! Thanks!
-
Quick question.. Say, for example that after a while, I wanted to switch out my GTX 675m to something else. Can the NP9150's GPU be manually upgraded???

Thanks for answering my question awakeN.
Well, a very annoying update. I placed my order last saturday, and now it is thursday and I've been going back and forth the whole week with having problems first with CC info as they said that the numbers were wrong. Got that fixed. After 2 days, they confirmed and double-checked with my order because I was missing the OS so I emailed/called them to update my order with the Windows OS + an upgrade to the warranty. Erin called me this morning saying that was cleared. And NOW I get an email again saying that the expiration date or is INCORRECT for the 2nd time. Seriously? I'm sorry, but this doesn't sound very promising. My brother, who owns the CC to purchase the order had called and made sure that everything was correct and so did the representative that he spoke to. I spoke to Erin, and said that we would be good to go. And now this?!?! I was even willing to pay CA tax just to get things faster but it's like we are cycling over and over again with the same issues. And whilst typing post, I just got a phone call from my brother that the CC ALREADY had been charged with the money. And now, I am dead- sure that the card won't be cleared till 3-5 business days. So this delays my order another week. :/
Not cool at all. -

With the OS we always ask about it as some people dont realize it's not included unless you add it. Now if we didnt ask and you got it without an OS that would have been much more of a let down then us calling and asking about it. -
Yep. Phase 2 since yesterday just to confirm with everyone who has their eyes on this thread. Will keep posting for updates. As for the Xotic-peeps, they've been very helpful and have kept contact constantly with any issues regarding my order. Hey, Hutsady has the balls to admit his mistake. That's a good thing, and I accept your apology. Thanks again.

Update:
Order was moved to Phase 2 May 17th and as of today, June 6th, counting off the holiday and an extra day for processing the payment, it has passed the said production/shipping estimate. Spoke to Hutsady via email and he told me that there shouldn't be any delays with any of the parts the laptop consisted of (I didn't order a 7970 HD) and so I asked him to follow-up on Sager if there are any problems with the order and said that there was none.
I received an update on the Xotic website and a following email status saying that the laptop will be shipped "early" next week.
I also requested if there would be any difference or if it would make things faster if I'd just swing by Sager to pick up the laptop since I live in Woodland Hills,CA which is like 40-60 minutes away from their site. Still awaiting reply.
Will keep everyone posted. -
Update!!
I finally received the laptop last week friday, June 8th (It took 3 weeks). I didn't have time to do a review right away because of work but so far it runs spectacular! The first time I turned it on though said that it was shut down improperly which scared me a little (lol). Keys are a bit smaller than I'm used to, and the lights are pretty fun to play around with. I may get Battlefield 3 soon, but so far I'm playing Diablo 3 and it runs it with ease. Caching skills and monsters make it lag a little but other than that it's golden.
I got the NTSC 95% gamut matte LCD and it is pretty sharp. It definitely is a thing of beauty. 1080p movies are crisp and lovely! I give it a <5/5>
From what I read on Awaken's review, I'd have to agree on the touchpad and the fingerprint reader being "meh". The fingerprint reader is pretty dipped in and I wish it wasn't. It kind of makes the read more harder than it's supposed to be (I think). <2.5/5>
The Onkyo speakers are pretty decent if you ask me. I won't say it is amazing, but I'd say it is definitely better than the previous laptop that I had with me for five years. Speakers = <3/5>
The fan is NOT loud at all. I don't know about overloading the laptop with processes or the GPU, but from my current experience I have not heard it make any loud screeching. Well, I'll do a 3d benchmark on it when I get home later today but having Firefox on with Facebook, Youtube and other stuff on it plus playing Diablo 3 on ultra with a full party hasn't made any disturbing sound so far. (Note: I have the GTX 675m, not the 7970m HD)
Fan = <4/5>
The power brick is definitely ginormous. But, whatever. I'm not sure if it fits the free laptop bag that comes along with it but I won't even bother rating it. The only thing that would suck is that I travel quite often and the airplanes only support 75 - 120 w/v (I think) so I'm sure it's not gonna work there. Someone let me know if it would! I'm no expert on electricity after all. The laptop's weight is pretty tolerable too. No offense to the people who say the machine is heavy, but I think you guys just need to do more pushups or something. Well, okay. I guess I did mean it to offend you lot. Hah.
EDIT: It fits the free bag! I have a 17" notebook cooler and it everything fits on it. You just have to do it properly!
About the GTX 675m, I plan on switching this out with a future GPU but I'd have to say that it's pretty good. My friend's desktop has a gtx 560 ti and it is somewhat near it performance wise. However, if you're level of gaming is on Metro 2033 or if you want to run Battlefield 3 on ultra this isn't going to cut it. Get a 7970m HD instead or wait for the GTX 680m. But, regardless, I like it. So I'll give the GTX 675m = <4/5>
If you ask me, the laptop is very svelte. I like how simple it looks like and how powerful it performs. I'd compare it to a lady that has a 7/10 facial value but 10/10 body. Which is well, exactly my type. Mmm. I give it a <5/5>.
The CPU? Well it's an Ivy Bridge. So guess what? It's a <5/5>.
Any questions would be entertained! XoticPC has been very good (besides a few mishaps) overall and I would recommend them to a first time buyer in a heartbeat. I'll definitely keep this thread posted if anything comes up (which I am hoping never, lol).
Hutsady, thanks again for all the help. It was a pleasure doing business with you and your company and I continue to hope for your future support if necessary.
Kudos, XoticPC! -

Armament,
Glad to hear you've gotten the computer and its working out great for you. I think you hit on these points really good especially the sound of the fans as that seems to big one of the biggest concerns people have.
Likewise it was great working with you, let me know if anything comes up down the road. -
hey Armament,
glad to hear you've had a positive experience, I am waiting for my order to be processed, so hopefully I will have similar experience with XoticPC. It's been two days and my order still not processed, I even called my Chase bank to make sure all CC info is correct and give them the heads up on a large purchase. I dunno what's the hold up... -
Have you tried speaking/calling the order processing representative that has been assigned to you? From my experience, it was Hutsady and Erin. Erin being the one in charge of that part of the process who helped me (although Hutsady did as well) with the CC transaction.
Sager NP9150 - XoticPC Experience!
