Some of the threads here seem a little old regarding feedback and the main thread is about ownership of specific systems so I'm hoping this is the right place to get some help.
I'm looking for a gaming laptop, spending $1500-$2,000. I have a Malibal that is about 2 years old and working great, never had any issues with the system so have had zero post sale contact with them. I was planning to purchase a new Malibal for my wife due to the first experice, but after doing some research this week though it seems some concerns have come about with that company and they are no longer active here so I figured I would try someone else this time. I'm in the US, looking for a good cost and a company with good feedback with any post-sale issues/communication.
It seems Mythlogic and XoticPC are pretty active here and have had good reviews. If anyone could recommend some of the active resellers here and advise if any are running current discounts I would appreciate it.

I ordered from Gentech PC, depending on what you want you can get a little "more" from them - they have free ram deals, and you can get (on MSI systems at least) free CPU paste upgrade and free zero dead pixel warranty. Xotic was good to work with pre sale, but in the end I went with Gentech PC as they were also excellent to work with and had better deals. I would recommend both depending on what kind of deals they offer

I did quite a bit of research before arbitrarily going with LPC Digital for my latest Sager NP6350. After sort of figuring out which model(s) and build(s) I wanted I just went to each seller site and compared prices and promotions for my configuration. To tell you the truth they are all right around the same ball park price, although some promos do differ seller to seller. RJ Tech seemed to be offering the lowest price for the configuration I wanted but I contacted Larry from sales at LPC and he offered to match the price/promo. Nothing against RJ Tech but LPC digital had so many positive reviews and feedback. Also Larry was such a nice and knowledgeable fellow, he answered all of my questions patiently, and that really influenced my final decision. Also all communication from LPC digital has been lightning fast, and they even responded to my first inquiry Christmas Day.
Like I said above, I have nothing bad or good to say about the other resellers, and my decision was based on a mix of price and reputation. Also I really liked LPC's web site layout and overall look, maybe they use subliminal messages, LOL! I would recommend pricing your config on all of the sellers sites and then contacting a few of your top choices. Remember a high quality custom laptop is an investment, and you have to make sure you are confident and comfortable with the organization that will be building it, servicing it, and warrantying it. Do you already have an idea of which model and build you want? -
heard xotic is great, i personally got mine from pro-star, been great, no problems so far

Like BangBangPlay said, it really does help to talk to different resellers. Larry@LPC is very helpful as are Mythlogic and we try to be ourselves. Even if you have a good idea of what you're wanting in a machine, talk to all the resellers you're interested in and ask what they'd suggest for your particular needs, in the end do what feels best for you. None of the companies active here in the forums are going to treat you bad so you'll generally be safe with whatever your choice is.

I guess first you'll have to decide whether you want to buy from a reseller or a builder.
- If you buy from a reseller, the person who build the laptop would be Sager. And the reseller would be the person to contact when you have a problem or want to do a warranty claim, RMA, etc. with Sager.
- If you buy from a builder, they will be the one who build your laptop. And should any problem occur, you can contact them directly. -
I had a really good experience with GenTech, that's 2 years ago so I can't speak for now. I bought a G73JW and I suffered from a few freezing, soft locking up etc, but that's not GenTech's problem at all, it's more of the Asus problem.
I almost went off to get my second laptop with them until I discovered mythlogic and they had been extremely swift in replying my emails and concerns. -
My vote goes to Mythlogic. They are a bit more expensive but they are a builder rather than a reseller and they do extensive testing on all the parts in the machine before it goes out the door.

I was wondering about this also. I have a good friend who swears by Ibuypower but I cant seem to find much info about them on the forum.

Depends on how much $$$ you plan on spending.
If the laptop will be around $2K, go with Mythlogic. They make sure you get a system that is thoroughly tested before being sent out plus the addition of custom tweaks to make the system run better.
If you plan on getting the minimum components for a laptop model, go with LPC Digital. I've also had contact with LPC Digital and can verify everything positive that is being said on these forums.
No contact or business dealings with XoticPC so can't say.
I can say that the activity on this subsection is only a fraction of what it was a year ago, no idea why. -
My votes:
LPC-Digital for the best price and best service for a Sager reseller.
Mythlogic for the best Clevo custom notebooks.
Reseller recommendation? ~$2k
