So I had a great build experience with Mythlogic and I've been very much enjoying my PC. Unfortunately it recently suffered some severe water damage so I had to send it in for RMA, and the experience has been less than stellar. Here's a summary of what happened

6/9: PC arrives at Mythlogic and enters technician's queue
6/12: technician says motherboard needs to be replaced, other components pending further testing
6/16: technician offers quote of $1,100 for motherboard replacement, $1500-1600 for recasing
6/17: I ask for precise quote for recasing
6/22: 5 days later, technician offers quote of $1695/$1795 for recasing
6/23: I respond that I'd rather just do a motherboard replacement
6/25: invoice arrives for motherboard and is subsequently paid
    - radio silence for 10 days -
7/5: I ask for update. No response.
7/8: I contact chat support. They tell me replacement motherboard has been delayed due to supplier, and that there is no ETA for when it will arrive.

I'm generally disappointed by the extremely slow pace of repairs and lack of communication.

In particular, it's a huge problem to me that the technician never mentioned that they didn't have a replacement motherboard on-hand when they presented me with my options. If I knew that replacement would result in a 2 weeks+ delay (which now looks indefinite) I would definitely have shelled out the extra money for the recasing option.

Overall I've been without my PC for about a month now, and despite having paid $1,100 for replacement parts I have no idea when I'll even see it again. This is hugely disappointing, particularly since my build experience with the company last year was so smooth. I would recommend anyone considering buying from Mythlogic to take the poor quality of service into account.

What kind of computer do you have where the motherboard is 1100 dollars to replace? Is it a laptop or desktop, or whats the model?

Eh alright, to be fair the gpu and cpu are soldered on. That's still a bit pricy, but lol if that was a desktop I would have thought they were out of their minds.

    Hi,

I really do apologize for the slowness of the RMA. Obviously thats not what we want to have happen. I've had one of the owners reach out to you via email to get this resolved, and we'll get this resolved as quickly as we can.

    thanks

Did you receive your laptop back? I recently sent my laptop for RMA and after reading these horror stories I now fear the worst, hopefully you had a happier ending, please update this thread if possible so people would know what the conclusion was

I know this is slightly off-topic, but this is why I like LGA and hate BGA. It would never cost me $1100 to replace like just a CPU or GPU in any of my modular Clevos...

    Anyways, any update OP?

Dude in his case, they have to replace the entire motherboard + GPU + CPU due to water damage.. Probably the wrong case your looking for.. In this case, BGA is better.. Everything got borked.. The cost for LGA similarly would have been much more than 1100..

Hmm fair enough, but it seems like I wasn't the only one who thought that this price was insane because of BGA. :p
