Some of you may saw my few post before, received my Sager Np9170 Monday, excited, got nice and quick communication with LPC, everything was going smooth and nice until i installed Nvdia Driver from Disck, played FIFA 12 after one minute then suddenly stucked then BSOD, after restart windows it stucked on black screen forever, sometimes i got luck to came into the desktop, but the system became slower and stutter, and then BSOD again and again, i tried everything i can, but it just doesn't work.

what i wanna said is, i'm gonna return it but it will cost extra $60, if gonna sent to repair, it means i spend $1500 to got a refurbished product!

Absolutely , i was called LPC after this issue , but they can not give me any suggestion, but larry is really a nice guy, i didn't mean they are not good. I was thinking maybe all the reseller is same, we are deal with sager not lpc or xoticpc, i just read a post that someone got wrong spec with xoticpc, well, i don't think xoticpc did any wrong, the sager should be responsibility at all, in my case, they told me everything was perfect during their test, of course, with system, but i really don't believe that , it doesn't make any sense to me.

sorry about my grammar, repeat, i didn't mean LPC is not good, i like larry, he's nice, polite and patient.

But, i spend $1500 and just got a defection machine, and i have to spend extra dollars shipping back, made me really angry!!

please help me to decide whether return (get MSI GT70 GTX675M) or get repair . thanks!!

When you say you've tried everything did you try swapping out the RAM and the HDD?

Most BSOD problems (90%) come either from softwares, RAM or HDD and rarely a motherboard problem so first try what I suggested and see if it fixes the problem.

Did you reinstall windows? Usually that would be my 2nd choice after reseating all the hardware.

EDIT: I would actually look at the MSI laptops as a 2nd choice. Don't stay with just one brand, always look at what's on the other side of the fence.

Try starting in safe mode with networking (f8 during boot up to get the option) then download and install a program called whocrashed which will give you a report on whats causing the problem. Depending on what it is, you could help fix it before having to send it in.
Of you can install whocrashed if you have another computer you can download it to then put on a flash drive to install on the computer.

Well, try reseating the ram. They probably didn't tell you because it is very difficult to read or understand what your actually saying. Not your fault or theirs, but it is tough to get what your saying.

Ram not being seated correctly can give you a BSOD. Try it, and if it doesn't work, try one ram module, then the other (assuming you have 2 modules). You also could have a bad stick of ram.

NONE of this should have to be done by a customer to a new machine bought and paid for to be working out of the box. Box it right back up and demand it be returned to you as fairly expected, working.

Customer has every right to be upset, how ever as far as refurbished, no it isn't, it is repaired. Warranty is for just this occasion, but in no way should a customer be paying for shipping when its less then 15/30 days old and not functioning. Unacceptable.

The suggestion of reseating the RAM is a good one since these products always get bashed around a lot during shipping.

It really doesn't hurt to try since ram actually is very a common reason for BSODs. And it could be only happens when you are trying to game or whatever. Just saying, it only takes 2 minutes, why not do it?

Many things can cause a BSOD. Hardware, software, solar eclipse, zombie invasion, etc. Pick your poison.

Before jumping into anything really drastic, I will ask a few simple questions:

    -Which GPU did you choose?
-Why did you install drivers from the CD? Were the drivers not installed when you got your system? What version did you install?
-Was the system working before you installed the drivers?
-Have you tried playing any other games? Do they work??
-You say you have reinstalled Windows, but did you install all system drivers in the correct order?

If you want to go deeper, run a memory diagnostic outside of Windows. There are plenty of utilities you can put on a disc or USB stick and boot into DOS to run them. Also, how many memory modules do you have? Remove all but one and then test it by itself. If the memory diagnostic passes with no failures, boot the system and then try your game. If it still breaks then you know it is not a memory issue. It then might be a GPU or software problem.

I would try all these things, but I am an IT professional and it comes as second nature to fix things like this. It might be easier for you to send your system back to LPC Digital and have them just fix it for you.
