In response to this thread Purchasing a laptop from Kobalt? The situation now? I just want to let you know that I bought from Kobalt eventually on June 24th and guess what.... THEY STILL HAVE NOT SHIPPED!

Does anyone have any experience with PCSpecialist.co.uk (good or bad)? I am considering to ask for a refund from Kobalt, their excuses wont do anymore

Having ordered with PC Specialist a few weeks ago here's my initial thoughts.

    Pros.
Easy to use website, nice and clear layout for speccing a machine.
Excellent visibility of order processing, they even show you what % of machines have been delivered within 7, 14, 21 and 28 days.
    Price was very competitive.
Great phone service, answered quickly and all queries dealt with.

    Cons
Typical delivery times 5-7 working days, but mine won't be here until next week (about 15 working days) due to the chassis being out of stock.

I understand that there can be issues with stock, but I feel PCS could have been a little more proactive in letting me know about these rather than waiting for me to call. That being said, they have working phone lines, so I'm in a better place than last time I ordered from a UK based Clevo reseller. It's also probably made me a little more sensitive to delays

All in all, based on my experience so far I'd reccomend you check them out.

My main reason to cancel with Kobalt was concern on extended warranty (which I paid for). Imagine your notebook breaking down, nothing's perfect, no matter how "ultimate" is the machine. And I couldn't imagine myself sending it back for whatever reason and finding out that Kobalt is having another "issue" going on, and easily could end up sitting without "ultimate" machine for months.

15 working days is still way much better than 55 working days (55 and still nothing, except empty promises). Canceled and got my money only thanks to credit card company. Once I cancelled, that's where the real ignorance started.

Good luck with Kobalt ma_t14, and you'll need a lot of it.
