Purchased EVOC P650HS-G from HIDevolution

After researching laptops for the past three months I finally pulled the trigger yesterday and decided to go with HIDevolution to buy my new laptop. I have been reading and trying to absorb all the great information on this forum about all the different laptops out there and was able to create a list of features I thought I wanted/needed.

I had no intention of purchasing my laptop yesterday but when I called HIDevolution I was connected promptly with @Ted@HIDevolution. I explained to him how I was a "newbie" and had not purchased a laptop since my ASUS ROG G75VW back in 2012 and I had a lot of questions about the P650 and the P750. He quickly explained to me the main differences and then asked some questions about my intentions and interests with a new machine. After talking to him he recommended the P650 and then went into every different option that laptop has when configured. He took the time to explain and confirm my thought process when I picked the 120Hz screen, as well as the 16GB ram vs 8 or 32, and all the SSD options that are available for the laptop. When choosing the shipping options I explained how I leave for a work trip in twelve days and that it would be awesome if I could have the laptop for the trip. Ted told me that if I chose the five day build option that he would do everything possible to make sure that the laptop was at my house prior to the trip or he would refund the rush build fee, even knowing that it will be close either way. All and all he spent 35 minutes with me on the phone, and even created an account for my order on their website so I could follow the build.

After hanging up the phone I got my email confirming my purchase as well as the features I selected. While reading the email I noticed that the SSD we selected over the phone wasn't on the build and I had forgotten to get the 30 day pixel warranty. I quickly called back to explain my issues and he greeted me by name, added the pixel coverage to my bill and explained how the SSD error had happened to a couple other customers in the past and resubmitted it and had me check again to verify it was correct this time.

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Ted and HIDevolution. @Donald@HIDevolution I can see why your company has the reputation it has on NBR and the web. It has been a long time since I have had such good customer service and even longer since I knew it was genuine. I would also like to thank @Phoenix for all of the information you have put out about EVOC/Clevo machines that I read. As well as @HTWingNut for your detailed review about the P650HS which first turned me on to a Clevo machine. I look forward to using my new laptop and will most definitely be coming back to HIDevolution for any and all of my computer needs.

 

Wow, what a nice and detailed review. This is the kind of classy service HIDevolution has had us all accustomed to and we love it.

Since you're an HIDEvolution Gaming Team Member now. Let me know when you get your laptop so I can help you tweak it. Here are my tweaks:

1- Uninstallation of all the Windows Store Garbage Apps
2- Removing all Windows 10 Privacy Invasion stuff like Telemetry, sending your keystrokes to Microsoft, automatically installing suggested apps in the background, allowing Microsoft to conduct experiments on your laptop, disabling automatic driver updates through Windows updates, disabling Windows 10 ads, disabling cortana, etc.
3- Removal of nVIDIA and Intel Telemetry
4- Adjusting a lot of options in PC Settings like disabling Windows Tablet Mode (you have a laptop not a tablet), disabling suggestions appearing in the start menu, disabling automatically connecting to Paid WiFi Hotspots, disabling Game DVR which reduced performance in games, and a lot more.
5- Replacing Cortana with a much better search tool that finds results instantly
6- Restoring the classic Windows 7 Calculator and Windows Photo Viewer
7- Restoring the Classic Windows 7 Start Menu
8- Turning off smart multi-homed DNS name resolution in Windows which may lead to DNS Leakage when using a VPN (must have Windows 10 Pro for disabling it as it can only be disabled via the Group Policy Editor)

I'm very glad to hear the customer service is excellent. I am thinking of buying the same laptop from HIDevolution.

I would love to get this laptop with the Prema BIOS. However, I understand there were some complications last year involving unauthorized reverse engineering of codes and plagiarism on @Prema's (and other supporting members) hard work. I express my condolences for such a terrible event to have happened. I hope Prema's partnering up with system builders have alleviated much of the problems.

@Ted@HIDevolution, does the EVOC P650HS-G come with a Prema Custom BIOS? If it does then I am sold (along with your excellent customer service)!

 

For that reason, due to some selfish individual(s), Prema stopped offering his BIOS to members privately. You can now only get it if you buy your laptop from a Prema Partner like HIDevolution so you're in good hands along with their superb quality control and customer service.

Also, since you will be part of the EVOC Gaming Team. You are free to tag me when you get your system for a tweaking session

Don't forget if you email [email protected] or [email protected] and tell them the specs that you want and your NBR Forum member username, you may be able to get a small discount but you need to have a few more posts to be eligible so I advice you to browse the forums and post
