Just spent weeks researching (just as Im sure many NBR goingers have/are).
I needed NBR.
And I needed Powernotebooks.com.
They are helping make my dreams manifest.
I was skeptical enough browsing stores like ebay, newegg, and even xoticpc, let alone some tacky website named Powernotebooks.com(much like every other reseller website so no offense, but MALIBAL thinks theyre so cool with their " classey`" layout )
Why Powernotebooks?
Because all my questions(I had MANY) were answered very truthfully, and responded to quickly. (MALIBAL NEVER answered me, even when I made a post directed to them. Three PMs, and a thread isnt enough to get their attention, they dont need my money)
DONALD (Paladin44) was so honest, and helpful I eved asked for his personal opinions, something I would never have done to those XOTICPC and MALIBAL drones. (No offense to hutsady, very nice person)
Why I didnt go with other resellers(going to be very honest, as an honest consumer)
1. Xoticpc - I almost bought from them a couple weeks ago. They are great, and reps are very helpful and many people go to them with their needs. BUT it seemed for the size of the company, it has a lot on its hands to deal with. Making service slower/less efficient. Nothing personal against them. They are a great company, but Im very needy and picky They dont need my money anyway, they are doing great with a new warehouse and all, a great booming company. Best of luck.
2. Mythilogical - Their notebooks were simply too expensive. (300+ usually)
They offer a lot free stuff, but Id rather have a cheaper notebook. Reps are very helpful though.
3. MALIBAL - They were simply too awsome and coooool to even answer my questions or private messages, even when it was clear the reps were online and interacting throughout NBR. Maybe they were too busy idk. Also, I read too many complaints of their service, and the reps although very helpful(to others), seemed as if they cared more about making a sell. (you can argue with me, whatever, just a personal experience and point of view from a consumer like me)
So go out and make your next purchase with whoever you want, but Im a very meticulous consumer and Powernotebooks.com just oozes SUPREME, PREMIUM, and LEGIT service. Reliable and helpful.
I suggest either PNB or Xotic.
ALSO: Look out for a review of a new Sager NP8150.
Thanks for reading. I hope this helps your purchase.

Thanks for the shout out ST4R
Happy to hear you ordered you computer. From everything I hear about Donald he's a great guy to do business with.
Just to touch base on:
Again congrats on your comptuer! -
I was Jk about MALIBAL and MALIBAL#2 being sales rep drones. But while were being completely honest about how a buyer MIGHT perceive you: I was able to ask Donald opinionated questions and he would answer truthfully. If I asked MALIBAL which laptop I should buy, I feel they would choose whatever is more expensive. (just how felt, I even made several positive posts about the company)
People say you guys are unpleasant, unkind, and somewhat "stiff" people. And that's the kind of feeling I got too. Should I go on?
@Hutsady. Nope I did not experience slow service. Just an observation of what may be the case incase you guys get too busy because you guys are one of the most if not the most popular choice.
Ps: pnb is a great company and have been around for a long time. They just seem a little outspoken in some places by other reps. -
Normally I don't pile on, but in this case I have to agree with the OP, I talked to a Malibar rep today and the feeling i got was that he really wasn't all that interested in finding out what I wanted. It is hard to describe but it was a turn off (in my opinion if someone calls and says theyare looking to purchase a laptop, then you would be happy and ask questions, which didn't happen). When I called PNB the rep i talked to just aksed question, took his time aand actually sounded like he cared enough to sell me a computer to meet my needs. Like the OP I am not saying that Malibar is a bad company, nor did the rep treat me badly, he just didn't do his job as well as Donald at PNB and that lost him at least one sale worth 3000.00 today, as i did call them first.

See, the thing is - some people are so use to being around fake people that they don't even know how to appreciate someone who is real. They would rather you put on a fake smile, and give them an insincere and soulless sales pitch than for you to be genuine with them and/or talk to them like a real person.
Look at miller41's post, for example. That's a testament to the fact that we're not, "more interested in making sales". We don't try to butter up customers with phony, formulaic lip service - we just talk to them candidly and genuinely and sincerely. Just like I'm doing right now. And if a customer decides to purchase from another company, that's completely fine - their loss. -
But that statement above warrants a second look by potential customers and yourself. Which business aiming for growth runs their operations with that attitude.. do you get paid every time you don't sell a laptop or something?! Apparently you guys have all the customers you need. -
-
I can go butcher up many of your posts too if thats what were going to do.
As I stated before, much of my feedback is based on how I felt when trying to do business with you, and much of what I read on NBR from other peoples experiences. I never accused you guys of doing anything malicious, I just reported the impression I got when trying to deal with you and what kind of things led me to that impression. The way you take it and the attitude in which you do is completely up to you.
You could have simply said something like "Were sorry your experience with us was unsatisfactory, well try our best to please you in the future if requested."
Keep in mind I favored you guys in the beginning, I sent multiple messages and by the time I moved on I had already read too many negative feedback about your service, and Im happy powernotebooks.com was there to assist me. Even though Im from a distant timezone.
My loss I guess.
Oh and I hope Im not giving the idea that Im out to destroy your reputation now. Like i said, how you take my PERSONAL criticism is up to you. -
You know there is a 'Chat Live' link on MALIBAL's site. If you needed to ask them stuff, that would be the best way to do so.

Just from an outside perspective, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, any company has a right to dispute false accusations of bad service. The most important thing about a good review is to be accurate when listing objective things. For example saying that MALIBAL reps didn't answer your PMs is objective, because it happened. MALIBAL reps not being as friendly or helpful as PNB over the phone, that's a subjective opinion. It's based on your own valid experience and deserves a mention. I suspect that's not why MALIBAL responded to this review, you can't really argue about opinions, they are unique to everyone.
However, when you say something like since MALIBAL didn't answer me, I have a hunch that if I asked them about their favorite hobby it would be clubbing baby seals... Well that is ridiculous. I'm referring to "Sales Rep drones," that they would try to sell the most expensive options, slow service, etc. That is not based on a fact, it is not a subjective opinion, those are just unfounded accusations of very objective things without any evidence. If any of those are true, then I and every other potential customer would surely like to know about it. However, objective statements need some kind of reasoning to back them up.
You can't "feel they would choose whatever is more expensive." They either did give you bad advice or they didn't. If they did, then mention it and elaborate, so they would improve their customer service or to warn potential customers. You can't observe or feel a slow service. Either it was slow or it wasn't. Those are objective things, not an opinion.
I posted and read on the forum a lot recently. I can attest that MALIBAL reps routinely help out owners of all Clevo models from all of the resellers with various questions, not just MALIBAL. They helped me out personally with a driver issue clear up. There were at least a couple of instances when a rude customer got turned away by MALIBAL sale reps because they didn't want to deal with him. I wouldn't call that trying to make a sale at all costs. So those are just a couple of things that are clearly not true in your review.
P.S. I'm glad to hear that PowerNotebooks yet again provided a great customer service and made another customer happy. Welcome to the Clevo Club. -
Like I said. MALIBAL is pro just like everyone else. And I simply figured they were too busy to help me as well as they did others. They make many people happy around here. But its ok if I can be honest and say I read much more negative feedback about them than about any other reseller.
Of course MALIBAL and it's loyal customers can defend themselves. Just dont take my words out of context, and if you guys really are so cool turning away big deals, that's not what it seems with the tenacity you guys reacted with to prove my every word wrong when I stated many times it's personal opinion and subjective to my experience many times, I was led to certain impressions that steered me away from your service.
And just to ease the air: if anyone reading this is hesitating buying from
MALIBAL, you should not. Just because I didn't get what I wanted doesn't mean you won't. Just because they didn't answer me and were snobby to other members doesnt necessarily mean it'll happen to you.
Best luck to all the resellers here. -
I'd just like to add a small note to this thread... one of the reasons I've enjoyed dealing with Malibal so far is that they're not drones at all.
The rep I've talked most to is Matthew and from the start he's been very friendly and I've felt comfortable enough to joke around with him and other reps.
I've been impressed with their combination of professionalism and their naturally jovial nature. I'm not saying this is exclusive to Malibal but I did want to dispel the "drone" accusation somewhat.
