I picked up my 1612 from Mythlogic two days ago, so I figured I would provide some feedback on my purchasing experience and the system itself. For those who hate reading, here's a truncated overview: Mythlogic was absolutely wonderful to deal with, my computer is amazing, and I have no regrets. Keep reading for a more detailed explanation.
First, I'll give an overview of my system:
95% NTSC color gamut screen
3720QM
16GB 1600MHz RAM 4x4
675m (7970m just wasn't available in time for my deadline)
6x BD-R
128GB Samsung PM800 SSD
750GB 7,500 HDD
Intel 6300 wireless card
Everything else is standard P150EM specs
The PC is absolutely amazing. The SSD boots up in about 15-20 seconds (love it!), the screen is absolutely phenomenal, and I'm really enjoying my time with Skyrim, which is pretty much what I bought the system for! I've been out of PC gaming for about 8 years, so I'm really impressed!
Now, let's talk about my experience with Mythlogic. I should start by saying that quality customer service is very important to me. I will gladly pay a slight premium for superlative service and peace of mind, and I'm really thankful that I'm at a point in my life where getting the absolute lowest price isn't the utmost determining factor in deciding who to purchase goods from. I've been there, I completely understand that ideology, and I don't fault those with that mentality.
With that said, Myth offers premium customer service and build options that completely justify the slight premium I payed, and I do not regret my decision at all. Win 7, screen calibration, Phoenix Upgrade Plan, etc. really won me over. I got my PC and I was ready to rock! I didn't have to install drivers or Windows, just go home and download Fire Fox and Steam.
I ordered on 04/11 and ended up modifying my order no less than 4 times, maybe 5. I primarily dealt with Eric, who was very accommodating and understanding, and I was never made to feel like I was wasting their time or asking for too much. I really believe they wanted me to be happy with what I ended up with. They weren't just people building my PC for a profit, they're enthusiasts that seem to enjoy what they do and it shows in their work and demeanor. I greatly appreciate this.
The only thing that stinks is that I switched to the 7970m, and they were not able to obtain the cards in time for my build to be completed by 06/18, which dictated my switch back to the 675m. I do not hold this against them because I understand that they were at the mercy of their suppliers. It's not their fault that the cards had issues upon initial release. Besides, the 675m is running Sykrim perfectly on Ultra settings (only game I've played so far), and I know it will handle Diable 3 perfectly and probably Max Payne 3 as well. I'm going to wait and see how the 680m performs and probably wait and see if a 7990m or 685m surfaces. The Phoenix Upgrade Plan makes the upgrade process a viable option in the future, should I choose to upgrade my GPU.
So, thanks Eric and Jeff! I appreciate all the communication I received and your accommodating my requests.
For everyone in the market for a new laptop, call your potential vendors and get a feel or how they do business. This is what I did, and Mythlogic's superlative customer service won me over instantly. It was very easy to tell that they would work hard to keep me satisfied, and I'm the type of person that wants to trust the entity I'm making a purchase from. I do not tolerate being jerked around, lied to or being given disingenuous responses.
I'll probably add some more stuff later, but this is my present opinion and rushed respone. Dinner is almost ready and Skyrim's sultry call is growing louder. Happy gaming everyone!

Thanks again!
Glad you are enjoying your new laptop! -

Glad you are enjoying your laptop, man! I can't wait to get my Nyx 1712 from them. -
I missed my delivery today as I was at work. The UPS slip they left had 'Gargoyle' listed as who the package was sent from. Nice touch lol.
-
Sounds like a very very pleasant purchase congratulations with your new beast!!

WAAAH I WANT MINE NOW
mine is pending parts! -
lol mine has been under pending parts for ~ 6 days now
just crossing fingers and hope for the best -
I've had my 1612/P150EM for almost 3 weeks, and I'm still very impressed with my machine. I just finished downloading Max Payne 3 (haven't had a chance to play it yet) and I'm about 45 hours into Skyrim. I love Skyrim, and it runs well on the 675m. The 95% matte screen is definitely a great display that is very vivid and allows me to game in a highly illuminated environment without any issues with glare. No ghosting to report either, which I remember reading about when researching the higher gamut screens. Oh, no dead/stuck pixels that I've noticed.
I'm not a hardcore user like a lot of people on here, but I haven't been disappointed with my gaming experience so far! -
heh i've just checked with myth and it appears that my laptop is waiting for the next shipment of 7970 thats coming mid of next week such a bummer
-
Next week isn't so bad. I waited over two months! Regardless, it'll be worth the wait for sure.
The speakers on the P150EM/1612 are TERRIBLE. I think that's my only complaint so far. -
Can we interest you in a laptop soundbar? It will sound just like a MOVIE THEATER, and it will also cause unicorns and ponies to pop out of your screen in 12D
</UsedCarSalesman>
All kidding aside, we have a couple of soundbars that I've and others have used on these laptops and they really improve the sound a whole lot -
hey what about the sound coming out of the mini stereo port? is that acceptable quality? i really hope so .

-
Hope this helps. -
I'd really like to hear if that works. The speakers on the clevo are the only issue I have with the laptop I'd like to have figured out before buying one.
-
-
One other issue: is the clevo's stock keyboard fine for typing and gaming?
-
I feel like the wait has to be worse than the speakers, but that's what happens when you wait for the 680m.
-
-
Well then I can't think of any reason not to get this laptop. Hooray.
-
I still haven't tried the Fn+5 combo to see if there's an improvement, but I'll keep it in mind the next time I'm utilizing the stock speakers.
