    Hey guys,

    I'm new here and I'm planning to get this particular EVOC from HIDevolution. I read all the nice reviews from people in the forum, grave dug a lot of praises/criticism for the company. Before posting this, I went ahead and emailed @Donald@HIDevolution some queries regarding the specifications that I wanted and etc. He responded fairly quick and was very friendly too.

    So anyway, I need this laptop for work mainly, will be running a few RAM hungry VMs, I need the large screen for good screen real estate and also will probably game a bit.

    I'm just wondering how reliable is the screen? Should I get the pixel perfect warranty? I saw some people who ordered the same model without going for the warranty. I live on the other side of the world and it'd be a hassle to send things back. I am getting the Global Warranty though. Also, I'm on a budget xD, so it'd be awesome if I could lower down the price as much as possible. I am however maxing the RAM, CPU and getting the 2tb SSD(not m.2) for storage.

    Aside from that, what RAMs are you guys getting from the HIDEvolution Approved option?

    Oh lastly, help me get to 5 messages to get the NBR Member discount. :D @Donald@HIDevolution suggested that I should talk about how good looking he is and all, but I haven't met him, so I can't comment on that.

    Oh also! Shoutout to @Phoenix for his review on HIDEvolution! That sort of brought me to choosing them instead of other resellers. Anyway, I also saw you offering help to other users, I would pretty much like that as well. And also, what other special notes should I include to ensure that I get a good laptop? I saw some where you suggested to include checking for backlight bleeding and etc.

    Last thing, what is the refresh rate for the P670HS-G? Is it 75Hz or 60Hz? I read that I should leave a note to get a 75Hz or something. I can't remember which thread that was or if it was just in my head. :/

    Update: Just sent payment, waiting for confirmation(takes a few days, so next update would be next week). Oh man, what else can I do to pass the time. Hahaha. Guessing it should arrive by next next week!

    Just a quick update. I used wire transfer for payment and it somehow reached them quite quick! I thought I was gonna wait till next week for it to reach them. Anyway, it's now in pre-production. =D So excitedddd.

    I know! If it wasn't the weekend, it would probably be shipped even sooner. Hahaha. Donald said the soonest it'll be shipped is probably Friday next week, so here's to hoping for that to happen!

    May I know what was the status before this, as well as how long it has been sitting on the previous status?

    As someone that runs multiple VMs that are usually done on bare metal due to the intensity of it, I'm curious what are the exact RAM options you chose?

    Oh and, thanks for your input and advice when I was looking to purchase from HIDevolution too! :)

    It was previously in 'pre-production' for a while(2-3 days). It jumped from 'payment review' to 'pre-production' quite quickly though!

    My VMs aren't 24/7 server stuff, just RAM hungry development environments that needs to not be slow at all. Also might try to run a bunch of less cpu hungry vms at once to simulate some sort of multi machine environment. Hahaha.


    No worries! Most of the input was from the stuff I gathered in this forum. :D

    Edit: I'm actually quite jealous of those with non BGA laptops from HIDEvolution, I wouldve gone with one, but the form is just too big for me to lug around with my tiny body. Hahahaha.

    Hey All!

    A quick update! My Laptop was supposedly done last week already, but an issue with the screen came up. It was blurry according to @Donald@HIDevolution, so they had to replace it. The screen replacement took a few days. It felt longer, probably because of the weekend and the time difference. Hahaha.

    Anyway, it's shipped now and I have the tracking number! It's set to arrive around Tuesday next week.

    I gotta say that I was actually quite impatient but @Donald@HIDevolution really did a great job in keeping me up to date despite being swamped with other orders. They even refunded my Rush Order fee because they couldn't ship it within the 1-5 days due to the screen problem.

    I'll update again once the laptop is in my hands! :biggrin:

    @Caas Lol, sorry no unboxing pics, I was too excited at the time and just went straight ahead into opening the box and uncovering my treasure! I did take pics, but my phone's dead now and I haven't slept yet. Lol

    Anyway, I got the laptop! Opened it and placed my extra drive and SSDs. Straightaway re-formatted to Win10Pro without issues. After that I installed some stuff like the Obsidian PC Tool and Chrome. Somehow internet was laggy at the time, so napped a bit while waiting for drivers to install.

    When I woke up, saw @Phoenix replied the thread and straightaway installed TeamViewer and the session was on! He knows his stuff and I recommend anyone to bug him(=P) for his supertweaks! Okay, maybe don't do it if you already know your stuff, because apparently he's been getting requests of his super tweaking sessions at least twice a day lately. The stuff that he did probably cost at the minimum, $50, he also hooked me up with quite a nice set of softwares too and a list of tips and tricks.

    I can't commend him enough and it was definitely worth the all nighter to set everything up!

    Also, I would like to thank @Donald@HIDevolution and the HIDEvolution team for the amazing buying experience. Of course there were a bit of delay, but the machine came with great quality and I am very pleased with it. Although this is only Day 0, I can tell that this machine will be of great use to my work and entertainment needs!

    Time to get some sleep... or not, cos it's almost work time. Hahaha

    Sounds great! I'm looking at the same model. Did you get the 60hz IPS in the end? How's the display? Light bleed? Dead pixels?

    Hey @milford30 ! The IPS is actually 75hz, so it's actually nice! Display is excellent, no light bleed/dead pixels! Initially, when HIDEvolution was assembling and testing the machine, they did encounter a bad screen that was blurry, but they replaced it. So, that delayed my shipping a bit.

    Anyway, my order didn't come with Pixel Perfect Guarantee but I did include this note under special instructions > "Please do thorough checks for backlight bleeding by looking at the screen on a pitch black background such as a blank screensaver." Hope that helps!
