    Hey guys,

I'm having trouble deciding on which reseller to use, so I was hoping pick your brains for help. I'm wondering how you guys decided who to purchase your laptops from. At first glance, most of them look identical, with similar pricing and options. Some of them appear to have slightly different shipping prices, though. Then, there are those, like Mythlogic, who build their own laptops from the Clevo chassis. However, almost all of them are American--the only Canadian ones that I know of are Eurocom and Reflexnotebook.

Anyway, I'm basically asking for some input on what attracted you to your chosen vendor. Was it pricing? Shipping rates (I'm in Vancouver, by the way)? Customer service? Warranty service?

Currently, I'm leaning towards Eurocom, because they finally offer the w230st (EurocomM3), and they have a 10% (10%!) discount for students. Problem is, I've had a lot of trouble finding accounts from buyers about their experience with Eurocom. The ones I have found (from this site, actually) are quite negative, but they are also old. Have they changed since?

So. I'll turn it over to you guys now. Thanks in advance!

I am also in the position of deciding which resellers in Canada.
My current contacts with Reflexnotebook about their Terms of Sales let me to believe there are none.
This is concerning when making a $1500+ purchase.

Hmm... that's a bit unsettling about both Eurocom and Reflexnotebook... Anyone else have anything to add to that, good or bad?

On another note, I just discovered Pro-Star, and apparently they offer free ground shipping to Canada on their Clevos! Anyone have any experience with them as well?

what do you mean by terms of sale. do you mean warranty etc.
there are quite a lot of good feedback from their customers on here. im in the uk so cant give any personal experience.

there was a lovely long thread on here about eurocom and their buisiness practice which was stickied so at the top of the forum but it looks like its been unstickied now so its somewhere in the archive now.

prostar are one of the main american suppliers like are xoticpc, power notebooks and mythlogic.
they have a rep on here so if they offer free ground shipping to canada then your hunt for a supplier is over.

I bought from Prostar about 9 months ago and had free shipping to Canada. I would highly recommend buying Clevo laptops from them as a Canadian.

I enquired about your Shipping Damage policy, Dead on Arrival policy and Return/Exchange policy. I was referred by your teams to the Terms and Condition and Warranty policy on your website. However the Terms and Conditions only address the use of your website and the Warranty policy did not address any of my enquiry. I just need clarification before making any purchase.

normally anything sent by courier is insured for damage by sender.
DOA. in 6 years on this forum ive only heard of one laptop that was doa and that was down to the courier company as the box looked like it had been used as a football.

as im on the other side of the world i will let Nova explain fully about their terms as they could be slightly different from here in the uk

When a return shipping is required, who will bear the cost?

Claims with shipping carrier could take months. During this time, the customer is left without a notebook?

How much is the brokerage fee?

With respect to Warranty, if I buy Reflexnotebook warranty, do I still need Sager 1 Year, 2 Year, 3 year Warranty and Canada Two Way Ground Shipping Coverage?

Also, does your dead pixel warranty cover two way shipping?

If you received a product either dead on arrival or damaged, contact Reflexnotebook's toll free number (1-855-505-4344) for further assistance. The situation will be assessed and Reflexnotebook will determine how the cost will be handled. Example, if you have the Reflex Hassle free warranty, 2 way shipping will be covered.

Unfortunately these types of situation are out of our control, I do not think anyone can guaranty any better resolution. By experience it doesn't take months to resolve.

The brokerage fee is based on the value of the notebook. Brokerage is covered by Reflexnotebook at the time of import.

Reflex Hassle free covers all shipping charges for RMA issues to Sager in California for the duration of your PARTS and LABOR warranty with Sager, you would not required Canada Two Way Ground Shipping Coverage by Sager. The Reflex Hassle free warranty does not extend the 1 Year base warranty by Sager. For the rest of the benefits please contact us.

The Dead Pixel Warranty does not change any shipping policies stated above.

Thank you and I hope I have answered your questions regarding our shipping policies.

Thanks for the clarification on your Shipping Damage and DOA policy.

For "Dead Pixel Warranty" and "Sager 1,2,3 Years Warranty", customers still need to pay for two-way shipping to CALIFORNIA. Right?
UNLESS customer purchase coverage for "Canada Two Way Ground Shipping" OR "Reflex Hassle Free Warranty". Right?

What the different between "Canada Two Way Ground Shipping" OR "Reflex Hassle Free Warranty"?

    That is correct.

The Reflex Hassle Free Warranty, is as the name states a warranty with no hassle :) You call us and we handle everything for you, we prep the RMA with Sager and file all the paperwork for shipping etc. We schedule a pick up with UPS at the location you request and we pay for shipping both ways.

With the 2 Way Ground Shipping, you still need to contact Sager and get your RMA.

    Hello, typically 10-14 business days.
