    Hi,

Ordered the P775DM3 with almost maxed out configuration on it from Aftershock, and had it expedited due to circumstances requiring it. Overall, I'd say the customer support is phenomenal and one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to experience, from purchasing support all the way to post-purchase. It's production quality though, is something else.

It has been a month since I've acquired this unit, and sadly it has been quite a miserable one.

I've been suffering from numerous issues on different ocassions ranging from missing drivers and corrupted OS to defective hardwares, and blank blue screens on boot as well as some sort of recurring crashing/black screen when running intensive games. After a few house visits and collections from them lasting up to a week in attempts to fix it, the recurring crashing still persisted. In fact, a few days ago when it just got back from servicing again(which arrived with a small crack on the screen), the crash happened again, this time refusing to turn back on even after they claimed to have replaced almost every component in the unit. It has since been collected by them yet again, with promise of a weaker loan unit in the meantime which should be delivered soon.

I've tried asking for an RMA, to get a complete replacement of the laptop, but was told that they have none in stock and it was up to their boss to acquire more. I think I am screwed in getting a replacement, or even a refund. So to whoever is residing in Singapore or the neighboring countries looking to purchase from them, think twice and don't be fooled by the shiny reviews on the surface. Learn from my (VERY) expensive experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

For international customers like you and me, it's best to go with HIDevolution, they have the best quality control, best thermal paste application, and superb customer service.

They also have a global warranty which covers shipping costs both ways should anything go wrong with your laptop.

Before they send you the laptop, the stress test it and play actual gaming sessions to ensure it works great out of the box.

Yes they cost more, but their machines come with the Prema BIOS so it's worth it and you get better customer service. You get what you pay for.......

    See;

HIDevolution - The Best Company I ever dealt with

    HIDevolution's Warranty!

    Also see:

    Benefits of Prema BIOS:

    • Fixes the biggest issue with these Clevo laptops where they would throttle the CPU as low as 2.5 GHz the moment both the CPU & GPU are under load due to current issues with the Clevo Stock BIOS/EC Firmware.
    • The ability to disable other drives connected to your system without physically removing them from your laptop, this comes in handy when installing Windows as you never want to have more than one drive connected at the time you are installing Windows otherwise the Windows setup will place the boot files on the 2nd drive it sees which hurts performance and makes it a headache when creating system images or restoring since the boot files are not on the main drive.
    • The ability to overclock, increase Turbo Power Limits and System IA/Core Current Limits
    • The ability to enable Intel Speed Shift Technology (it is disabled in the stock BIOS)
    • The ability to run RAM with speeds higher than the standard 2133 MHz. I am not talking about overclocking here, I am talking about actual RAM sticks that are rated to run at 2800 MHz for example like the G.Skill 64GB 2800 MHz kit I have. With the stock BIOS, they will not run above 2400 MHz. In the case of the P870DM3, the stock BIOS now supports up to 2666 MHz. I believe but not more, so the Prema BIOS is a must again
    • Fixes the instability with the G.Skill 3000 MHz. RAM using XMP Profile 1 with timings of 16-18-18-18 where in the stock BIOS you would have constant crashes or not be able to boot altogether so you’re forced to use XMP Profile 2 which is slower with 18-18-18-18 timings.
    • The ability to enable CSM for those who want to install other OSes like Windows 7
    • The ability to undervolt the CPU as the stock voltage is way too high which causes the CPU to overheat much quicker and thus throttle under load.
    • The ability to enable or disable CPU AES instructions or Virtualization
    • The ability to disable hibernation from the BIOS
    • Sets the default keyboard lights from blue to white which suits more tastes

    Benefits of Prema VBIOS:

    • Power throttle disabled
    • Over-voltage slider enabled and adjusted (up to a maximum of 1.2v)
    • Activated and adjusted thermal slider (to keep it cooler if desired)
    • Core overclock slider limit raised
    • Power consumption meter activated
    • Fixed 3D voltage base-line in order to stabilize OCs and voltage-match both cards in SLI systems (based on average ASIC)
    • Thermal protection @ 92c (once*91c are breached the system throttles volts and clocks in order to protect it)
    • Protection against Furmark and Kombustor GPU burnout (AVOID those software even with stock vBIOS)!

I would demand a refund if I were in your case, who knows what happens tomorrow when the machine fails again, do you want to go through this all the time?

Yes, I've seen it and the price from HIDevolution for a system with the same specs as mine, if not better would be similar to what I paid Aftershock for, minus the international shipping fees. It made sense to me at that time to purchase locally, I guess I'll have to suck it up now. At the time of writing this thread I had already made up my mind to purchase from HIDevolution if I ever get a refund from Aftershock.

    Hi all,

Just to provide an update, I've received back my unit a few days back, and the same issues started occuring again today. I've since been contacted by Aftershock and offered multiple options, including a full refund. With that said, I am interested in acquiring the same unit again, but this time from HIDevolution.

Was wondering though, how often do they ship overseas? Also, how long does it take from order to shipping etc?

what do you mean how often do they ship overseas? They do it whenever a customer wants to.

I ordered 3 laptops from them before and I live in Dubai.

They are the best option for me as an international customer because you can upgrade the standard warranty to a global warranty and what that gives you is, it covers shipping costs both ways should anything go wrong with your laptop so it gives you the peace of mind and saves you a lot of money

It is also more convenient as they will send you a courier guy to your home to pickup your laptop, fix it, then send it back to you.

Remember, if you email [email protected] , you may be able to get a small discount. Nothing to brag about but hey, it's your money, so every penny counts

    Hey @Caas

I recommend going with HIDEvolution. The shipping cost was around USD130+ for mine(P670HS-G), to a country quite near to yours(bwn). I haven't gotten mine though, ordered it last Wednesday, it should probably be shipped by next week, I can update you then if you want. Oh, I opted for a rush order as well, thus why it wouldn't take long. Get in contact with @Donald@HIDevolution, he's super helpful and replies at our timezone sometimes, which is odd cos I thought he should be sleeping by then. Haha.

I see, as at this point after my experience with Aftershock, I am pretty worried and paranoid about the build quality, or it getting damaged during shipping etc. More so that I am halfway around the world, if anything goes wrong it might be a hassle for me.

My mind is set though, I will be placing an order after I get my refund from Aftershock and queries answered from Donald!

Was your shipping priority express? The shipping cost for me is quite shocking: http://imgur.com/a/w3ud8

@Caas I used Fedex for mine and the first option, yours is actually 30USD cheaper than mine! Always had problems with USPS(delays) and never really had issues with Fedex. Not sure how it is in SG though.

I did a quick search, and apparently USPS takes 3-5 business days whereas as the screenshot shows it's 1-3 for Fedex, even though Fedex is much cheaper. That's weird haha. I'll ponder over the shipping options for awhile, definitely want priority though. Do keep me updated on your order!

Yea, I don't know why USPS charges so much, but I know that Fedex is always faster for me. Will do that! Btw, when you order, do ask for the NBR member discount($30) and if you pay through western union(probably cheaper than wire transfer)/wire transfer you can get a 2.5% off of cost of laptop and shipping.

Also, as per @Phoenix's advice, put this, "Please do thorough checks for backlight bleeding by looking at the screen on a pitch black background such as a blank screensaver." in your special notes.

Edit: Oh right, don't forget to get the right cord! Hahaha.

    1) HIDevolution's quality control is superb, I've always received laptops that worked great out of the box as they do a lot of stress tests using different tools and actual gaming sessions

    2) You need to get rid of that negative experience from Aftershock and stay positive treating this as a totally new experience. The Secret (a very nice documentary video/book) talks about positive mindset, if you expect something to go wrong.........guess what? that's what you'll get......trust me, it works....stay positive, put a guardian on your brain that blocks all negative ideas and you will be happy and will receive a perfect laptop

@Phoenix Do you happen to know how long it takes on average for @Donald@HIDevolution to reply? I was hoping to place my order by yesterday, but it has been two days since his last(and only) reply. :(

@Caas he usually relies fast, but he's currently on leave until Wednesday, so it might take a while?

@izdiwho Yeah, he got back to me already. I've since gotten a refund from Aftershock, thus concluding this thread.
In more interesting news, my order for a P870KM1 from HIDevolution has been placed. :)
    Special thanks to @Donald@HIDevolution .
