Just wanted to register how impressed I was with mySN.co.uk.

Chose the XMG P505 with lots of RAM because I need to run a lot of simultaneous VMs for work (its main use will be as a mobile workstation), and selected the 980M to get the slightly larger SG chassis with improved cooling. Chose the 1080p IPS display to avoid any potential Windows scaling issues and to hopefully help battery times.

Went with mySN because they were well reviewed on here and were offering superior warranty options compared to the other UK resellers I looked at, but initially I was disappointed to see Windows 7 wasn't offered as an option on the P505. However, after emailing mySN to ask about this, they actually added the Windows 7 option to the P505 on their site the same day so it could be ordered that way!

The machine was shipped from Germany via DHL 5 calendar days after ordering and was with me in the UK exactly a week after placing the order. Everything arrived in perfect condition, very well packaged, no problems at all.

The P505 itself is an amazing machine, very well built, with a beautiful black aluminium finish (this is the 651), overall very happy with the whole mySN experience, and I would highly recommend this reseller to anyone considering them.

I'm afraid this may not be the case, by their own company representatives' admission they have charged 4 out of 5 customers for repairs under warranty of screen hinges. See this thread for details: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...roken-hinge-dented-frame.768856/#post-9940440.

I know this because I am one of those mentioned.

Well I am glad you are happy with your laptop and I hope you fully enjoy it and that it never needs repairs under warranty.

One question, you don't happen to work for MySN do you? I noticed you only have 1 post just wondering ...

    Hi DaveG12345

Many thanks for your feedback, great to hear from another happy XMG owner!

I am sure Dave will be more than happy to confirm that he does not of course work for XMG. We have a full order history from him and we have absolutely no need to start posting fake feedback on a public forum.

I tried to very clearly explain the five warranty cases in the thread that you linked to, I will do so again here to clarify:

    - one was repaired fully under warranty

    - two were not repaired under warranty because the customers accidentally closed the lid of their laptop shut with an object resting on the keyboard area (such as a pencil or pen). This caused the hinge/s to be damaged. This is classed as customer induced damage, it is the same as if the laptops were dropped on the floor.

    - one we partially charged for the repair, but some of the cost was covered by us

    - one (your RMA) has been denied warranty coverage, you have raised a complaint which is currently being dealt with by our RMA department in Germany. They have also initially denied warranty coverage, however they have stated that they would inspect your laptop in their RMA center in order to reply to you in full and give a second opinion. I add for the record here that we have not caused the damage to your laptop as you have accused us of. The photographs that you sent us show the exact same damage that the photographs we took when we received your laptop show.

We really do not want to post more details of your RMA case, not because we have anything to hide but because it is a matter which is still being dealt with and the discussions via email and Live Chat were private.

I hope we can all agree that legitimate customers of any company should be allowed to post feedback (good or bad) in good faith.

Haha, no, not an employee! I've actually been registered here for years but always as a lurker - I buy a new laptop every 3 or 4 years, and this forum is great for research before purchase, but I don't really have any input of my own worthy of posting!

I've also only ever bought Dell and HP laptops before, so this was my first experience buying a Clevo model, which took a lot more effort in terms of research, but which I think was worth it in the end.

And since I saw there was a reseller feedback forum here, I thought I'd post my thoughts about the process.

Sorry to hear you've had problems, hope you manage to get them resolved.
