Hi,
After having all my debit cards denied by xoticpc (I can use it on other stores) I finally got it paid after a wire transfer. This problem by itself delayed the order by more than a week.
After that, I was expecting it to be delivered just fine and fast. Since THERE WAS NO ETA on the model. But after some days xoticpc altered the site with an ETA and my order got a delay. Because of that, I had to change my address for the order because I'm not an US native and I'm traveling. Spoke with Pat and he assured me that the address has been changed.
Then, a month after my order being placed, I have received my laptop on my older address. Somehow I managed to get it.
While unboxing I have noticed that it was missing the receipt (I have asked for that since I have a sponsor who will pay for the laptop), missing the metal gear solid and it was without branding on the lid (I have not asked to remove).
But the worst problem was when I turned it on and saw those huge light bleeding that are possible to see even on the sun. I have paid 45 dollars+15 dollars for this IPS panel with dead pixel warranty and it looks cheaper than the regular TN panel. There was absolutely no quality control on this.
Then, I have installed the operating systems. During the windows installation I have noticed some rattling on the HD but it got installed. Unfortunately, Ubuntu could not deal with it and was almost impossible to install (took many tries during the whole day to get an lucky installation). Now both systems are installed, but both freezes up after some time and the HD keeps rattling.
I'm very disappointed with both Sager and xoticpc. Now they just removed the p650se from the listing making me even more worried about it.
If there was any quality control at all they could have noticed any of these problems.

Now I don't really know what to do

Hey Bernardogo,
I'm sorry to hear about everything that has happened here. Please reach out to me (I already have your order number) through email, phone, or chat, and I'll do what I can to help out.
We typically have to go off of the information that we have available on time frames. There were delays with that model, that did get pushed back a couple times. We try to have it updated when we can, but there are always some things that we can't control with inventory. We normally estimate 7 to 12 business days on the build time, just to compensate a little bit in case there are delays, and we were still within that time frame. Though I can understand the frustration of having the dates pushed back, especially when you needed it by a specific date. I do remember you asking to change the address, I sent it over, and I see it updated on our internal side of things. I know it can take 1 or 2 business days for everything to get processed and updated, which was requested on the 11th, and then it shipped on the 14th. So maybe it had shipped already at that point when we were getting it updated. I'm not sure if there was a break down in communication between us and Sager, or what happened there. I'll be checking in to that. I apologize that wasn't shipped to the correct address. But I'm glad to see that you were still able to get it though.
I did request an invoice to be sent out again. You should be getting that by email Monday, or Tuesday at the latest. Let me know if you don't see it. With MGS V, Nvidia is sending those out as digital download codes. They used to offer games on a card, but it isn't like that anymore, or anything pre-installed. That should be coming to you soon as well.
As for the screen and that hard drive, that is something I will bring up with our service team and have them reach out to you about it, to see what options we have to help out with those. IPS screens can often have more light bleeding than TN panels do, and the dead pixel warranty is just for dead pixels. But that is quite a bit, and I'll see what we can help with there. On the hard drive, have you by chance opened the bottom panel to make sure it is properly seated in there? I'm not sure if maybe a screw some how rattled loose a little bit in shipping. Anyways, I'll be asking for our service team to contact you and give you some options of what we can help with now.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you need help with anything at all. I'm here to help and will do what I can. -
I do understand that IPS panels usually have more bleeding. But it is such an easy thing to reduce that makes me think if this only happens more often on IPS panels because the image is so better that they can reduce costs on things like this.
I do expect some "IPS glow" on this or some minor leaking, somehow I put in my mind that I'll never have a perfect IPS screen such as seen on my cheap and old acer. (That's stupid, BTW)
I use my computer mostly on a dark room and this one on the upper right is making impossible to read there.
I know that the warranty is only for dead pixels but it makes no sense to avoid dead pixels while having such a leak like this, worse than any dead pixel.
I have two friends that bought laptops with me, one got such a perfect screen on p650se and the other one got a perfect IPS screen on Asus g751(the screen is bigger on this one). Everyday I get more regretful for buying this on xoticpc since I could just go to Bestbuy and get another laptop with a gtx970 so I could try it out in the store since sending an laptop with testing to the consumer and returning it (or not) seems to be easier and cheaper than doing a quality control these days.
About the HD, I don't think that it's an screw or that it's loose since it's a typical sound of a failing HD and the operating systems are freezing. I don't expect Ubuntu to freeze that way while doing nothing.
There is also the branding that they totally forgot of. (A brand that don't like to put brands)
Do you know how many days would take to deal with it? Is it possible to get an faster UPS service both ways? Will the laptop be replaced or fixed? It is a xoticpc service or Sager's? Can I send the laptop only after everything is ready to fix it? (No inventory gathering again) -

Right, I will make sure we can get the branding back on there as well.
Typically it always depends on the problem, and how much time it takes to replace or fix the issue, and it is on a case by case basis. WIth that, it sounds pretty straight forward and it wouldn't need a lot of diagnosing really. Normally it is shipped UPS ground, which is like 3 or 4 business days each way probably, then the time to fix the issue. Usually, expedited shipping is optional, and it would need to be paid for. The warranty pretty much just offers standard ground shipping.
It would go back to Sager, and not to us in this case. There shouldn't be any inventory gathering, as far as I know. The delay was on the whole model, and I wouldn't think there would be the same delay on the screen and hard drive, as there was on the whole system. It can come up, but it isn't very often though. I'm sure you could send the laptop when it is convenient for you, and that is something we could work out. Might be possible to just cross ship a hard drive, then send it in for the screen later. I'll ask our guys if that would be an option as well.
But I'll ask on these points and see what we can do to speed the process along. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
P650se with many problems [disappointed with Sager and xoticpc]
