I have been dealing with customer support with a lot of companies recently. I got used to a support agent not carefully listening to my full story, juts getting the bullet points and I could always have this feeling that they can't wait till I hang up.
The Problem:
In my previous Eurocom Sky X9 that had a Dual 980M SLI setup, and also had the Prema BIOS, benchmarking and all is fine, but if I would play a game, Need For Speed Rivals in my case, after about 10 mins of gameplay, I could feel the screen is flickering, as if the refresh rate dropped to 40hz or so. I have very sensitive eyes when it comes to these things and I could feel it.
So I exit the game and go straight into BIOS just to make sure it's not a hardware issue in the monitor, since when you are in the BIOS, we eliminate the possibility of a bad driver or Windows 10. Even in BIOS, which has a grey background, I could feel the heavy flickering very well.
I then tried flashing back to the stock Eurocom BIOS and it fixed the issue, so I thought maybe it's an issue with SLI and the PREMA BIOS. This happened on both the stock VBIOS and the PREMA VBIOS. Then my laptop got stolen.......
fast forward to today, after receiving my new Sky X9 but this time with a desktop 980 GTX, for the first 3 days, I didn't play any games, I was just busy benchmarking and stuff. no issues at all.
Mind you, I am always on the stock CPU/GPU clock speeds, no overclocking at all
Today I played Need For Speed, and after playing for about 10 mins, I started feeling the screen flickering again. I exited the game immediately and could feel the flickering in Windows, I then went into BIOS, same thing. You could even feel it in the BIOS screen.
The Fix:
So I called Eurocom and Mr. Sumit answered, he was super polite, had an upbeat tone, and very helpful.
He then asked me to disable GPU Performance Scaling in BIOS to see if it helps but it didn't.
I called again and this time Mr. Kevin answered who was again, very friendly and had a nice sense of humor. He asked me about my CPU/GPU temps and they were both fine.
Without any delay, they sent me the latest Eurocom stock BIOS v1.05.04 to my email. I flashed it and did my testing. No flickering!
The whole problem was solved in about 20 minutes. This is what I call superb customer service!
They will touch base with Prema regarding this to see what can be done.

That's a rather odd issue, especially persisting in the BIOS. I don't know what to make of that but awesome they fixed it so fast!

I am happy Eurocom responded so quickly and the problem is fixed, but reading your text a couple of times again brings up a couple of questions.
Why didn't your new laptop already come with the latest BIOS v1.05.04?
And, when you noticed exactly the same problem in the same game on your new laptop as the previous laptop, solved with BIOS v1.05.04, why didn't you just jump to update the BIOS?
The story sounds like, "I updated my BIOS and fixed a problem on my Sky X9 I already knew about and fixed a month ago, on my Sky X9".
But, it's nice to see Eurocom was available and quick to help out through to a solution, after shipping out the laptop without the latest BIOS.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

I do not mean to badmouth the awesome Prema, i want the issue to be fixed. I have noticed it while others may have not or maybe don't have it at all, but just sayingi_pk_pjers_i likes this. -
I wouldn't feel bad about finding the bugs, Prema loves to fix themSpartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

BTW guys, I just found the word.... it may not be actual flickering, not the one you experience with a bad monitor which has GSYNC for example such as the piece of garbage ASUS PG278Q....
picture this, you are running @ 75hz and all of a sudden, the refresh rate drops to 40 hz, you will notice it very clearly, this is what I experienced after running the game for 10+ minutesLast edited: Jan 28, 2016 -

Anyway, I'm happy I got this fixed now -
Their tech support team is definitely more knowledgeable than others like Alienware and ASUS for sure.
I sent my laptop in a week ago, they received it at their NY location Tuesday, haven't heard from them yet. Hopefully I can have my laptop back sometime soon.TomJGX, Mr. Fox, Spartan@HIDevolution and 3 others like this. -

Sent them an e-mail, we'll see what happens.
In the meantime, I'm using my new mini beast.
Dell Latitude E6230, i5 3rd gen 2.60Ghz @ 3.1Ghz Turbo, 8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz Ram, 12.5" 1366x768 Display, 256GB SSD, Intel HD 4000 GPU, Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit, MIL-STD 810G certified Tri-Metal chassis.
I can actually play two of my games @ 1366x768 medium settings on this thing. I was surprised they even launched LOL.Last edited: Jan 29, 2016 -

Extremely satisfied with Eurocom Support.
My M4 had got a broken lcd cover after one of the hinges got loosen. Sent from Bloomington, IN to NY service center. Quickly fixed and returned back. with replaces cover and updated BIOS.
This happen after about 2 year of hard but gentle use. With no questions my 3 year warranty was honored. Would buy again and recommend.
Outstanding support from Eurocom!
