So last week I finally decided to replace my old HP laptop that died last July (lasted 5 years), and ended up ordering the Sager NP6872 / Clevo N870HK1 from LPC Digital.

Here's a timeline of the events:

March 7: ordered the laptop late at night
March 8: got a call from Larry to discuss payment options, sent bank check
March 9 (or 10, I can't remember which day): Status changed to "Sent to Factory -- Waiting on Full Payment"
March 14: Status changed to "Customized Building and Testing"
March 16: Status changed to "Shipped and Complete" with tracking number provided (status was changed in the morning; it was shipped the afternoon before on the 15th)
    March 17: Arrived

I don't see anything wrong with the laptop yet, and I certainly hope it stays that way, but I have no reason to believe anything will go wrong. Thanks Larry and LPC Digital!

Am I wrong or has anyone else noticed that LPC-Digital seems to be quite fast? You didn't order rush shipping did you?

The first P650RS owners in the lounge all got from LPC as well.

No, I did not rush the order or the shipping. UPS Ground shipping is already decently fast, and since I'm in the Rocky Mountain region shipping usually takes 2 business days from the LA, California area.

I suspect that LPC Digital does a lot more work on something before notifying you about it. For example, they probably started working on the laptop (building and testing and stuff) before my status was changed to that on the 14th, might have even been halfway done or so.

I remember HP did something similar back when I ordered my laptop in 2011; they set the expectation that it will take probably a few weeks, then you are ecstatic when it arrives a week and a half later. It seems that LPC Digital uses a similar practice of under-promising and over-delivering. They tell you on their FAQ page that it will be about 6-8 business days for the building/testing (after it is paid for and arrives at the factory) and maybe another 4-5 for the shipping, but getting the final product on your doorstep within 7 business days of the order date really impresses the customer.

The end result is that the customer is very satisfied, as I am.
