At this point I'm wondering how long it normally takes for an order to go into production. My order still shows processing.

We can usually ship within about 7-12 Business Days after payment received, or parts become available, but we offer a Rush Order of 1-5 Business Days after payment received, or parts become available, refunded if not possible, for a $50 fee. If you would like Rush Order please let me know and I will add it to your order.

In case anyone cares - my notebook arrived on August 22nd via Fedex Ground.

I have an RMA issue right off the bat so I'm going to see how that goes before I post any more.

It would be more helpful if you stated what the RMA issue is and how well it was handled.

Also, putting your configuration in your signature will also allow veteran members here to help you better.

Oh, and yes, we do care...that is why we are here...to help.

It looks like my laptop was just received at HIDEvolution for the RMA process.

My RMA issue is a dead pixel upon arrival. I paid for the 30-day dead pixel warranty, the backlight bleed check, and the screen calibration, so hopefully the new panel I get is excellent.

Other than that, the only other quirk I saw was the fingerprint reader didn't work very well. Any tips or tricks? :)

Sure. It just has trouble recognizing fingerprints. It usually takes 3-4 times to recognize a fingerprint and I've definitely re-added the fingerprints to troubleshoot.

Thanks Phoenix. I posted in there. Currently I'm waiting on the RMA process. My biggest worry at this point is if they replace the panel, they forget to vet the backlight bleed, dead pixels, re-calibrate, etc. Crossing my fingers.

Don't cross your fingers dude, pick up the phone, call them, and ensure that they will check for the dead pixels if you paid for that service. Sitting here and crossing your fingers is not smart  this is not the Russian Roulette!

It is absolutely Russian Roulette. ;)

It's my first time ordering from them. I've done all I can to try and ensure everything gets looked over. I mean... I paid for all this extra screen protection. I asked them to double-check the screen when I put in the order. I'm practically begging them to get me a good screen and it still arrived with a dead pixel.

Plus - I've definitely talked with Donald on the phone.

We sincerely apologize for missing the dead pixel. It isn't Russian Roulette...we just made a human error. As a result we provided a return shipping label. We will replace it with a new panel and ship it back to you.

Your unit has been received and we estimate that, assuming the build goes well and it passes all final testing, burn-in and final Q.C., it will ship back to you on Monday...with a calibrated panel with minimal backlight bleed, and no defective pixels :)

@quasitime I have dealt with a lot of computer vendors for machines and parts. I have also learned that people make mistakes and parts fail unexpectedly. However, the proof is in how quickly a company will "make it right."

You have made a great choice buying your machine from where you did because they will always make it right. I have come to that conclusion by reading every thread in this forum for the past 5 years. When I buy my next machine, I will go to the company you chose because of how fast they acknowledged your issue then made it right.

Thanks for your replies everyone. Things do happen, and life goes on.
I reached out to HID on Friday and they said they will get me a perfect panel and it goes through the same process as my initial order. Thank you for confirming this Donald. I'll post back once I receive it.

I received the laptop last week and everything looks good! There's a little bit of light bleed on this panel but no dead pixels. It looks well calibrated and the colors look great.
