So I currently have an Alienware 17 r4 with a 6700hq and wanted something a little more college friendly and a laptop i could bring in my boat and back . After debating for a while I decided to go with the 15 inch model for the 120hz screen. I have never owned a 120hz screen so that was a big deciding factor on making this purchase! Here are the specs I choose.

It's amazing so far! Make sure to grab the CLU thermal paste from hid as this laptop tends to run a bit hot! Or a cooling fan. I have both and they have been doing this laptop good so far :). 7820hk easily overclockable to 4.0+ if that's something your interested in! 4.1 is my daily driver. Hope you enjoy your laptop as much as I'm enjoying mine!
    Have a good one!

Very nice config, that 7820HK is an awesome CPU I have it as well on my MSI laptop.

Tag me once you get it if you would like me to help you tweak it! EVOC Gaming Team FTW!

    Here are my tweaks:

1- Uninstallation of all the Windows Store Garbage Apps
2- Removing all Windows 10 Privacy Invasion stuff like Telemetry, sending your keystrokes to Microsoft, automatically installing suggested apps in the background, allowing Microsoft to conduct experiments on your laptop, disabling automatic driver updates through Windows updates, disabling Windows 10 ads, disabling cortana, etc.
3- Removal of nVIDIA and Intel Telemetry
4- Adjusting a lot of options in PC Settings like disabling Windows Tablet Mode (you have a laptop not a tablet), disabling suggestions appearing in the start menu, disabling automatically connecting to Paid WiFi Hotspots, disabling Game DVR which reduced performance in games, and a lot more.
5- Replacing Cortana with a much better search tool that finds results instantly
6- Restoring the classic Windows 7 Calculator and Windows Photo Viewer
7- Restoring the Classic Windows 7 Start Menu

Did you play around with undervolting the CPU before overclocking? How about after overclocking? Any significant change in temperatures?

Yes I did! I currently run -125 which gives me the best results but when I'm at 3.9ghz+ I bring it down to -100 which gives me best stability. Temperatures before undervolting was 95C which was too hot but when i put it to -125 and run it at 3.8 I get 83C max. 3.9ghz+ always brings it up to 85-88C max so I usually leave it at 3.8 or 3.7 for the best balance between stability and temperatures. I can't see the difference between 3.8ghz and 4.1ghz when gaming except running emulators so I just leave it at 3.8. By the way when I'm running Emulators I can crank it to 4.1 and my temperatures remain in the high 70's which is great. Try experimenting with different settings to see which one works best with your cpu!

95C is a toasty muffin for sure!
Thanks for the info-- I'll keep those numbers in mind once my machine arrives :)
