I am eagerly awaiting shipping notification on my new laptop, order placed through @Donald@HIDevolution. After several weeks of research and deliberation, help from the forums here, as well as combing through many many other threads here on NBR, and scouring various reviews on places like notebookcheck, I opted for a P775TM-R (I'll post specs below). I think this will hit the sweet spot for the vr and flight sim performance I'm hoping to get while on the road without paying even more in an attempt to replicate the desktop performance I'm accustomed to while I'm at home. This system should handle just about anything at 1080p without breaking a sweat, meet my travel/portability needs, and keep the appearance understated. From everything I've read, and speaking with Donald, I feel very confident in HIDevolution for excellent system build, setup, tuning, and support.

There was a slight snag in the ordering process, most likely due to my situation at the time of order. I was out working at the time, 16-hour days, not much time to do more than simply make the call one evening, confirm a few details, and place the order. In order to accommodate my schedule the next day, rather than have me try to watch for someone to contact me by phone while I was working (to run the standard payment info verification), Donald kindly made arrangements for that to happen the same evening. This was after normal business hours, so that was already a step above and beyond. Unfortunately, there was a slight hiccup after this was taken care of, in which my credit card wasn't actually charged at that point. The thing is, I knew I would only have a relatively brief window coming up when I would be home. If we could time it right, it could ship to the same address as on the credit card, and I could have a couple of days to get set up, download software, games, drivers, sync cloud storage, etc., all with good, fast, reliable internet, without trying to do all of this while on the road. So Donald and I had worked out a plan which would hopefully result in my system being built over the following week, then shipped to my home to arrive during that brief window. Perfect! :) I was busy working, so didn't check that payment had gone through, nor proactively check my order status, etc. There was no further communication from HIDevolution, my credit card company, nothing to indicate any problems or delays. Nine days later, when there hadn't been any shipment notification, and I had just gotten home again, I thought...I better at least take a look. Sure enough, order status was stuck in limbo, my card was never charged, no pending charges, nothing. Monday morning, I called Donald and he assured me he was already "on top of it" as he had also noticed Friday night that the order never shipped. He admitted right away that this was an error on their end, and to make it right they would go ahead with rush processing (which I had paid for), free of charge, but apply my rush payment to expedited shipping. In the end, the hope is that I will still get it within a couple of days of our original plan. Right now my fingers are crossed and I'm hopeful that I'll see a shipping notification soon and take delivery on Saturday. In the end, these things happen. It was an unusual situation on my end, and Donald is doing his absolute best to correct the situation in a reasonable way. What more could you ask for? No wonder they have such a good reputation here on NBR.

If anyone has suggestions for me on setting this thing up, please do let me know. I've built many gaming desktops over the years, but this is my first "serious" laptop, and my first real attempt to take my games and heavy computer work with me on the road. Maybe it's all the same, but if there are "tricks of the trade" for mobile gaming and computing, I'm all ears. One thing is for certain: I'm very interested in @Ultra Male's tweaks! Ultra Male, are you still offering your time and expertise for HIDevolution customers? Please let me know and I would greatly appreciate it!

Here are the system specs and cost, for reference.

Congrats! I'll be ordering the same, as the older P751DM2-G just died :-(

    Just a quick update:

I actually ended up with a different laptop (Alienware Area-51M) through HIDevolution. I haven't had a chance to update this post properly, nor post another regarding the change and the new laptop, but it had nothing to do with any issues with the P775TM-R. This was all logistics, human error, and an incredibly professional response from HIDevolution to make things right.

My work, while not military in nature, is essentially like a deployment. I took delivery of the Area-51M in the moments leading up to my leaving and have been working on the road ever since, minus a couple days here and there. When things calm down, I'll post a proper update.
