I am going to discuss my (ongoing) experience with Mythlogic.

A while back, I started looking for a new gaming laptop for my wife. I shopped around, and decided on Mythlogic. We ordered one of their stock models in late August. Turnaround time was listed as 12-16 business days. Fast forward to mid October, and the order has been sitting in the parts allocation stage for weeks. I send them an email, get a response, and long story short, the laptop arrives in early November. Two and one half months turnaround.

The laptop we received however has been superb. From my previous communication with the company, I was willing to chalk up the exceptionally long turnaround as a fluke, and this April I decided to order a new laptop for myself.

My first problem came when I couldn't remember my account password. The password recovery system on their website kept kicking back errors. This should have been my indication to go with a different seller; but instead I just created a new account using a different email.

I place my order, and it stays in the processing stage for about a week. Furthermore the money doesn't come out of my account, but is unavailable. I try to call customer service multiple times but can't get through. I email them, and get through. A few days later, the money finally comes out.

Since then, I have been in the payment complete stage. I spoke to their online support last week, and they said I should see some movement on my order in a few days. Thus far, no change has occurred.

I placed my order on April 11 and am still waiting. Clearly the delay on my wife's laptop wasn't a fluke. Also on April 11 I ordered an MSI gaming laptop for my son from iBuyPower.com. Not only did I receive an email at every step in the process; I received the laptop in just over two weeks.

Meanwhile, I am still waiting to see movement on an order I placed a month and a half ago from Mythlogic.

I really don't want to be done with these guys, because they provided my wife with a superb, excellent product; but if I don't see movement soon, I can't recommend them to anybody, let alone justify purchasing from them myself ever again.

Just so you all know what to expect. :(

Update: After being contacted by a Mythlogic rep, my order has been updated as "In Build Queue"

    Hi,

I know you can't PM (missing 4 posts), but is there any other information that you can share about your specific order so that I can track it down and get to the bottom of this?

funny how there are three threads near the top all about Mythlogic and all the same - lack of communication with the customer and requires the customer to come on to these boards to get any response from the company...

Well as much as I can relate to and understand that, I too hope that soon comes a little earlier rather than later.

As an update, I am now 12 days "In Build Queue". Business must be booming. :D

    Hi TSamee,

We completely agree that its unacceptable, but that part doesn't really matter, as you want your stuff back. So please check your PM.

Just an update; No movement on the order since my last update.

    I've set myself a deadline.

If there is no shipment by July 11 (3 months from the day I ordered it), I'm going to cancel the order.

That's 2x the time where you would ask for a full refund...

At 6 months there have been enough technology advancements, new products, and loss of utilization that they should pay you 1.5x+ as a refund for your lost time.

I'd ask for a new laptop, with 1.5x the value from their configurator or the cash equivalent.

You're probably right. I really don't know what to do, though. They aren't picking up the phone any more and only seem to respond sporadically on this forum. Last time they got in touch with me, they said the new machine was being assembled, and would then go to testing before being shipped out. Not much info on the actual specs of it, but they mentioned it having an updated processor, which I'm obviously grateful for.

More than anything else, we need some transparency. Something is clearly very wrong, and has been for a while, but customers have received no word besides occasional assurances on this forum.

Edit: literally as I was typing this out, I received a message saying the machine would go into testing next week, and they would send me the specs once they were back in the office. Thank you for giving my case some attention, as I'm sure that had something to do with it.

So I got a communication of good news from Mythlogic.

They said that my system had entered the testing phase, and that they had also replaced the SSD I had ordered with a considerably larger one.

Then to assuage any skepticism, they emailed me a couple pictures of my system undergoing benchmarking.

So with luck it will be shipping out shortly.

Why is Mythlogic even a reseller when they can handle their own business. And why are they on these forums when they cant provide any kind of customer support. Too many people are having complaints about them about late this and late that. If I run my ebay business like them I'd go under.

They give the Clevo (sager) family a bad name.

I don't think anyone reading this will buy anything from them now, when Hidevolution, GentechPC, Xotic PC and Eurocomm exist...
Hell, even Alienware (Dell) is better than this. At least you will get PRODUCT, despite all the issues....
