While I am waiting for my 70GB simulator to download and 600GB of scenery files to transfer off my external drive, I decided to write about the awesome service I received from Mythlogic.

Back in 2012, I bought my P170EM from a reseller who was not helpful in getting my machine to run right. In desperation I got on here at NBR and asked any reseller if they could help me even though I did not buy the machine from them. Mythlogic responded immediately and within hours helped me out and shipped the parts I needed. In 2012 I promised them I would buy my next machine from them.

So on May 4, 2015, I ordered this beast from them:

Mobile Chassis MYTHLOGIC Phobos 1715 Chassis (Clevo P770ZM)
Mobile Display 17.3" Full HD (1920x1080) IPS Matte LCD
CPU Intel Core i7-4790K 4.40GHz, 8MB Cache, Quad Core Processor Unlocked Devils Canyon (88W)
Thermal Compound Free IC Diamond Thermal Compound
    System Memory 16GB (2 x 8GB) , PC3-14900, 1866MHz SODIMM
Video Adapter nVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M 8GB GDDR5 nV GPU Performance Scaling
    AC Adapter
    330W AC Adapter
    m.2 Slots 1 Samsung 512GB SM951 m.2 PCIe x4 Solid Sate Drive
    m.2 Slots 2 Samsung 850 EVO 500GB m.2 SATA III 6GB/s Solid State Drive
Hard Drive 1 Samsung 1TB 850 PRO Series SATA III 6Gb/s Solid State Drive
Hard Drive 2 Samsung 1TB 850 PRO Series SATA III 6Gb/s Solid State Drive
Wireless Card Intel Centrino Advanced-AC 7265
    Operating System Windows 7 Professional

It took almost 2 weeks to get the parts but I understand that Mythlogic is a systems builder not simply a reseller so the wait was expected and fine. Periodically I would inquire on the status and I received a prompt reply at all times.

Since this is a dedicated flight simulator machine, I had some specific requests that I made during this waiting time such as installing the OS on a different drive that is standard, not installing certain programs, and a couple other requests. Jeff Cline kept in constant contact with me through emails verifying my requests and assuring the work would be done.

I also had a sudden business trip come up which meant I would not be home to sign for the machine so I needed them to either upgrade my shipping to get it to me early or hold it till I got home. Jeff Cline monitored the build, kept me informed, and I was able to pay for upgraded shipping to receive my P770ZM today before leaving on my trip tomorrow night.

The laptop arrived today in THREE boxes for protection. It was built exactly the way I wanted it even with my unusual requests. Windows was fully updated with zero bloatware. Mythlogic included the discs and also their QA benchmarking test results on the desktop. In addition to the t-shirt and mousepad, there was the worksheet checklist the builder used to put my machine together and test it.

The machine performed flawlessly and the build exceeded my expectations. Mythlogic's customer service is absolutely incredible. Those people must never sleep. I was getting emails back and forth at midnight their time. When I wanted to add a part, they sent me a PayPal invoice immediately to my email, I paid it right away, and the part was listed on my build specs within an hour......and all of this in the middle of the night !!!

My wife needs a business desktop soon and as soon as I pay off this machine I will buy it from Mythlogic. When I buy my next machine, it will come from Mythlogic. If I ever get to Ann Arbor, Michigan I am taking the whole shop to their favorite pizza joint down the street.

Just remember, Mythlogic is a systems builder so there is added time to get your machine but it is that custom building, outstanding communication, and subsequent QA and testing before shipping that makes receiving this machine worth the wait and expense. I am a very satisfied customer.

Thank you Mythlogic; your team is awesome.

Good to see positive post among countless moaning and complaining, but being flight simulator fan myself I wonder which flight simulator takes 70GB for program and 600GB of scenery, that must be whole Earth down to minute detail plus Moon and Mars included. Is this that version of FSX bought and updated by Lockheed?

The sim is FSX Steam Edition. I have 30GB of DLC and another 30GB of aircraft, airports, and scenery as addons in the FSX folder. The 600GB of scenery is Megascenery photorealistic files.

I put the OS on the EVO m.2 drive and FSX-SE on the SM951 drive. The Megascenery is going on the 1TB PRO drives. I'm loading the FRAPS movie data on an external drive through the eSata port.

More or less echoes my experience with Mythlogic except that the communication during the build process was pretty poor (which they have stated that they determined the problem and are correcting it). Despite that, I will definitely order from them again

I just want to echo caelric's comments about communication. I placed my order on July 7th and a few days later I had to ask the rep I was communicating with about my payment being processed and then asked again through chat for an update a week or so later because the website still showed it as payment pending. I received excellent and prompt responses both times also, I just had to ask for them. At the beginning of last week the website finally updated showing payment was complete, which is what it still shows, and I still have not received any other communications.

I'll do a full review in my own thread once I receive everything, and based on other reviews, I fully expect, and have no doubts, that everything else will be above top notch which is why I chose them. I just expect with the kind of money put forth for these products, that updates would come fairly regularly throughout the process, plus I'm extremely anxious to get my beast :D.
