I'll start off briefly by stating the situation I was/am in. I needed a small and light gaming laptop for an upcoming work-related trip. I'm basically going to be in the middle of nowhere with nothing to entertain me other than high-speed wireless. -- yes this town doesn't even have a movie theatre, yet it has High-speed internet...

I was notified of this trip on short notice (2nd week of April) so I needed to move fast. None of the big box stores carried anything portable enough, yet strong enough (or they were selling models from. 2 years ago) so I knew I had to go the Clevo route, but time was short. I decided on the W230SS model, a 13.3" wonder with the new Nvidia 860M Maxwell GPU.

At first I tried a Canadian reseller of Sagers. My experience with them is well explained in another thread, but I'll say it wasn't good. Even worse than the bad experience was that it had wasted 2 weeks!

I decided to check out Mythlogic. I noticed that their prices were a little higher than some, but I also noticed that they had a lot of positive reviews. I also liked how they explained how in-depth their QC was. I knew that I needed it fast, but I needed it to work out of the box, so this was a good thing. Sager was also having back-order issues on the W230SS at the time so that was a worry too if Mythlogic's were also on back-order.

I emailed them at 11:30 pm one night to see if they could have my build complete by May 30th (it was now late April). To my surprise I received an email back from Josh a couple minutes later telling me that it shouldn't be a problem, and that as far as he knew the screens were in stock there! Mythlogic isn't a reseller you see, they are a builder of laptops using Clevo barebones.

We exchanged a few more emails that night and I decided that a company willing to answer a customers question on their own time do late at night is the kind of company I want to give my business to.

On April 29 I finalized my build and made my payment.

On April 30 my payment was confirmed.

By May 12 I hadn't heard anything and I was getting worried so I emailed them back. Charlie replied saying it was scheduled to be built in the next few days - plenty of time to test and get it ready for the end of May.

On May 16 the order status was changed to being in the build queue. I spoke to Josh again who told me that their guys sometimes don't update the website right away because they'd rather have them building/testing than updating the website. Fair enough, but you're killing me lol

May 19 status updated to being tested.

On May 21 by a weird stroke of fate I had to go to Ann Arbor Michigan for a meeting. Since Mythlogic is located in Ann Arbor I was wondering if they could get the QC testing done and have it ready for pickup by late that day. Josh wrote back and asked that I check in with them at 3pm, but they'd do everything they could to make it happen.

May 21 at 3:00pm, with fingers crossed, I call them and am gleefully surprised that it is ready for pickup. YES!!! I drive over as fast as possible, meet Tim, talk about how beautiful Ann Arbor is and then get my hands on my prize.

I am extremely happy with the job Mythlogic did and how they were quick to accommodate my rushed order. I highly recommend these guys if you are in the market for a new laptop, desktop or if you just want to see a company that actually cares about your business!

    Thanks again guys!
