    Good day all,

As a continuation to my previous thread and due to the fact I cannot edit the title, I've thought it will be better to open a new one, dedicated to my experience with Mytholgic.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/purchasing-p870dm-g-ongoing-review-questions.789001/

To summary the last thread, after speaking with Mythlogic and explaining my deadline for receiving the system (before 03/25/16), as I'm working on a cruise ship that is leaving the USA, they promised to do their best and to refund me if they will not be able to supply the system on time.

On this thread I will update all the experience, hopefully up to a happy ending.

Thank you very much, I sure hope it will be a beast, as gaming is one of the only things I can do on my spare time, and my ASUS ROG is already too old to run anything new. Regarding to the securing, don't worry it is really safe here :)

Shortly after the order, received an email from Josh, requesting to fill up a form because my shipping address is different from my billing address. Done it, but blacked out my CVV # and all my credit # beside the last 4 digits.

2 hours after, I've received an email from Jeff, welcoming me to the Mythlogic family and saying that they will do anything they can to meet my deadline.

Order status is still listed as Processing.

As Josh told me: "on the topic of the 25th. That shouldn't be an issue as long as we get the order over the weekend (so we can get started on Monday)"

I've checked my debit card account, and saw that I already have a charge on "pending status" (Normal thing, due to the fact this is debit card and really high sum, the company usually give few days to decline the charge).

    upload_2016-3-7_20-51-34.png

However, I was not contacted today (Monday afternoon) if my order started, so I sent an email to Josh and Jeff (don't really know who is my contact, as both send me emails), and order to verify that the order will be processed today, as Josh said.

Damn, and i thought Wire Transfers were slow. I have had international wire transfers of over $7000 go from pending to completed within 48 hours, sometimes even faster. But my transfer from Bank of America to Chase (Within CA) took 3 days and even then it was pending on the receiver's end on the 4th day. This is after paying an extra fee for a next business day transfer.
But yours should get processed faster i think. Im not sure if Credit gets processed faster or Debit, but im guessing debit, since it charges directly.

I'm not worried about the pending time, this is something that I used to with my card.

I'm just expecting that this will not delay my order, as they said they will start working on it on Monday and the day is almost ever without hearing from them.

I've sent an email to Jeff yesterday, and one to Josh today. I will update with their reply.

    Daniel,

In my experience with Mythlogic, the first few stages seem to drag and you'll get worried but once they collect your parts and put your machine in the build queue, then the pace picks up rapidly. I have already received a machine from them and have been pleased with the process......so much so, I just ordered a new laptop for my wife this morning.

They are not a re-seller, they are a systems builder shop. It will take time to build but I've always been pleased with the results.

Thank you very much Captain, If I didn't have my time limit, I wouldn't care if it even 3 weeks to be ready, as long as the system will be well built, which is exactly the reason I wanted to go with Mythlogic.

Anyway, I checked today in the morning, and my order status moved to Stage 2 - Payment completed. Woohoo :)

Daniel, I ordered a week before you. Same system just different specs. My order is still on Stage 2 - Payment completed :(

The status went to Stage 2 on the DAY OF order.

    Daniel,

I hope you get it in time although your time frame seems pretty tight. I remember my last laptop took 21 business days to build. I didn't count weekends since it's a shop. I think they are open on weekends although I was hoping the same tech would do the complete build. Less mistakes that way, I would think.

I remember mine sat in payment complete for a week till it made its way into production. Even when it's done, they take a couple days for QA testing. I was in the same boat (no pun intended...LOL) as you in the sense I had a business trip scheduled. I didn't need to take it with me but I wouldn't be home to sign for it. I ended up going to UPS 2 day.

So aznxwill, you, me, and anyone else who ordered are in line waiting for the parts puller. It'll drive you nuts checking build status twice a day for the next 2 weeks. I hope you get it in time. I was just pointing out in my last post that someone actually built it rather than simply pulling one off a shelf. Then I read your prior thread and figured out you already knew that :).

Anyway, good luck and I hope everything works out for you. I wish you fair winds and following seas.

I decided to cancel my order with Mythlogic. Communication seems to be a hit or miss here for me - 2 of my emails were never responded so I was a bit worried about how the warranty experience will be (if needed) or if I needed to make any changes, etc.

Ordered a system through HIDEvolution - hopefully a better experience there. So far Ted has been very responsive and helpful - hopefully this reflects HIDEvolution as a whole.

UPDATE: Apparently it takes 1-2 weeks for a refund. That seems like a long time :(

Well the only advantage of going with Mythlogic (atleast for me) was that they had a Prema BIOS variant, now HIDEvolution offers the same.
I recently bought a system from them, check out my review thread in the re seller feedback section.

great job! if preorder communication is that bad, imagine how warranty would be! heh.

HIDevolution will now give you the Prema BIOS and VBIOS for free as well.

If you are wondering how they handle warranty, see:

Well I will lie if I will say that I'm not a bit worried, so far no status updates.

I know that Mythlogic known for the slow build, but as they said that they will be able to meet my deadline, I decided to go with them.

I do feel that the communication is a weak part, as I had a question that I sent to Jeff, then to Josh, and got a reply only when I emailed again to Jeff few days afterwards.

As I said before, If I didn't have my deadline, I would not mind them even taking 3 weeks, as long as they will supply me with a perfect system.

I really hope that everything will be fine in the end (delivery on time and good system), I really want to write a good review for my experience :)

    I will keep to update.

it's your choice although I suggest you cancel your order and go with HIDevolution to get it on time and with the Prema BIOS and Prema VBIOS. do it before it's too late

    Hi Daniel,

Hope everything works out. Nothing is certain nor perfect. Heck.....this past winter I was waiting for a critical part. UPS had it and the plane had departed Seattle for Spokane which is the nearest airport to me. While in the air, a jet slid on the ice on the ramp in Spokane closing the airport so my package had to return to Seattle delaying it. Can't yell at anyone....stuff happens.

Anyway, the point being...... I value Mythlogics work and never needed their warranty that I paid for but that's just me. We all have our favorite systems builders and re-sellers. Again, I hope everything works out for you.

Had conversation yesterday with their support guy over the chat, he was very helpful and said that he sure that this week I will see a lot of updates about my system, he also said that he will remind the tech team about my deadline, and will try to help me.

I checked today my status and it went to stage 5, hardware build :)

Nice nice! I ordered a week before you and cancelled my order during the weekend. Looks like your order progressed faster than mine. You waited a little over a week to get to stage 5 - Hardware Build. I waited a little bit over 2 weeks and remained on Stage 2. Maybe they don't like me :(

We love you all just the same :p

Your order was actually in line to move ahead (Monday) in the process when it was cancelled, so yes while we know its not UPS tracking, we try and move the status's as quickly as possible, but usually people are more concentrating on building and testing things.

It would definitely be helpful if we are told exactly what is happening with our orders rather than receiving generic responses like "your order will be completed in 17-20 business days". I think it'll be great if we received responses like "we're gathering your parts" or "we gathered everything but the hard drive and CPU" or "we are having issues with another customer order so your order is on hold" - something like that that gives us an idea where things stand :)

Nevertheless, I'll keep Mythlogic in mind in the future. I was losing my patience with Mythlogic because I have a deadline that needs to be fulfilled - I'm sure Mythlogic knows this as I messaged them about it before. I'm sure things would have gone smoothly if that deadline wasn't there and communication was better/clearer. It's just I wish communication was better on Mythlogic's part as I have asked for order updates + changes to order. For this, responses were received for some while others were lost.

    aznxwill,

I'm not going to speak for Mythlogic nor explain their business model but I do agree with you.

I think, in the past, one could say: "You'll get it when I'm done with it." and that was perfectly acceptable because you were buying a service rather than a product. When I first started in the airline business, you got your shipment when it got there. In the mid 1980's we got bar codes and handheld scanners and the rest of the world got computers. Now we know where that package is in real time and, if not, why.

This is why their reply mentioned UPS tracking because we chatted about that. I didn't realize that Mythlogic has an FAQ Twitter feed that somewhere down the feed it tells us that they manually and periodically mass batch the updates to customer orders on their site. Now I know and plan accordingly.

Perhaps some day they will adopt your suggestions although, under the "be careful what you wish for", such things cost money and guess who pays? :)

Anyway, I learned a lot from this thread and, at the end of the day, I hope we all get the system we want.

    Bobby

Love the communication so far - now I know where my order stands (going to be worked on tomorrow).

Hi aznxwill, maybe you could open a different thread for your ongoing experience with HIDevolution? I'm sure it will be interesting to follow it.

Regarding my progress, I've been contacted by Josh for my customized BIOS logo. I've sent him the artwork and can't wait to see how it will look like on screen :)

    Another update :)

I've just received an email with UPS tracking number and I noticed that I've moved to Stage 7 in my order status :)

This means that Mythlogic already created all the delivery information and soon it will be on its way.

It seems that they will manage to stand in the deadline even with spare time.

    Can't wait :)

Well the package has arrived to the destination, now I'm waiting for my friend to bring me the package when I will be docking on the 25th :)

I really want to show my appreciation to Mythlogic that even though they were standing in my deadline, they upgraded my shipment from 3 days to 2 days just to be safe (the package arrived on the 23rd instead of the 24th), and without charging me any extra!

I will write another update when I will have my hands on the system :)

Oh its not even going to be opened until tomorrow :p *makes note to be less nice later* lol

The actual reasoning for getting it there early was so that if there was any issues in transit that they could be taken care of before it went on a boat and that would be neigh impossible =P

    I've got it! :)

Today we docked at FLL, so my friend jump by and gave me the package.

The system was amazingly packed. It was a box, inside a box, inside a bigger box full with packing peanuts.

I've received my system, mouse pad, manual, T-Shirt (in the right size!), check list that used Mythlogic while preparing my system, Windows Disc, Drivers Disc and a very cool USB bracelet with all the recovery information.

It was very nice receiving it like this, felt very personal, especially the checklist.

The system itself is beautiful, I didn't have the chance to play anything on it yet, but from general check it seems that everything is as ordered and everything is working well.

On my desktop I've found all the result from the benchmarks that were done on my system. Mythlogic conducted all benchmarks 3 times, which I found very impressive.

I'm very happy with the system, can't wait to try some heavy stuff on it.
