Wanted to share my experience with Mythlogic.
Background:
Purchased a used NP7280 here on the forum. The machine had some cosmetic wear and tear (i.e. palm rest worn, back of LCD scratched/dented) which I wanted replaced. I also decided to take the opportunity to upgrade a few of the components at this time while it was "in the shop" for the other cosmetic replacements. To that end, I also purchased a new CPU and two new GPUs through Mythlogic, as well as one or two more minor tweaks.
Experience
I asked around here on the forum and the primary resellers I'd dealt with over the years for Sager machines were unable to do the upgrade work I wanted done. I reached out to Mythlogic for the first time and they were quick to respond with estimates and to answer what likely were several annoying questions from a noobie such as myself.
I dealt primarily with two people throughout the process - Eric and Josh. Eric more on the phone calls/payment side, and Josh on the technical side. Both were a pleasure to deal with - really nice guys.
As part of their benchmarking/inspection (or whatever the appropriate technical term would be) before the upgrades even went in, they noticed some issues with the machine which they brought to my attention and resolved for me. They also basically disassembled the entire machine, cleaned out the fans, tested the components, calibrated the lcd, etc. In addition to doing an excellent job with the upgrades themselves, they also proactively upgraded the bluetooth module free of charge. Personally this is the kind of stuff that will make me buy from them again in the future - while of course the most important thing to me was that the upgrades/replacements I was paying for were done properly, the fact that they would do this kind of extra stuff and do those extra checks just left a strong, positive impression on me.
When I received the machine back, everything was working as expected, all the software had been updated and all the drivers as well. All the old parts had been boxed up nicely and shipped back as well. Everything on the machine was in good working order and has been since.
In sum, my first experience working with Mythlogic was a very positive one and I will definitely buy new hardware from them in the future based on the experience. Great guys to work with.

I also bought parts from Mythlogic, which other resellers did not even consider to sell seperate.
Apart from that Josh has an in deph technical understanding which he`s not shy to share with his customers and the community. He`s digging deeper than the usual re-seller and tries to max things out on the technical side. He shows an enthusiasm, which goes beyond just selling stuff.
Also PayPal payment wasn`t an issue.
With Mythlogic I feel like being in good hands! -
3 cheers for Mythlogic!

Thanks for the kind words guys! We really do appreciate it, and yea we do have a lot of fun being hardware nerds.

I would like to thank Mythlogic Computers for all their help in getting my system upgraded (580m w/ heatstinks, 180W PSU, BD Burner, and Killer). When I first got bought my system I wasn't sure about it, I didn't want to invest a large amount of money into a system I didn't like. After almost a year, I decided I would upgrade; basically I wanted a system that hopefully last a few years. It took a while to get all of these upgrades done, but with the help of Eric, Jeff, Josh, and Charlie it got done. Eric was a big help with all my questions and requests, most of my contact with Mythlogic was with Eric. The only major issue I had was with a bad 580m, but Jeff helped me get an RMA, and I’m currently using the replacement with no problems. So far, everything seems to be extremely cool with it after the application of ICD. Idle temp is around 32, and I haven’t seen it go over 80 while gaming. So if anyone is looking for specific parts, I highly recommend Mythlogic for their quality parts and attentive service.

Hey
Thanks for the feedback, sorry the first 580m was DoA, glad the second time around worked better -
Firstly, I've done business with XoticPC before and have nothing but good things to say about. All the resellers on the forum seem to be great from what I can tell.
That said, the first time I looked at Mythlogic it seemed overpriced compared to the other guys. The more you look at the customization options, however, the more it becomes clear. The base price is higher, but the more upgrades you add, the more the price points merge between a Sager reseller and Mythlogic. Plus, they offer several things standard that Sager resellers don't. I really think Mythlogic might have my business in May/June when I look to buy a P170EM.
May I ask what a typical price would be for people upgrading their GPU using the Phoenix upgrade plan? -
580m : $688
6990m: $352 -

We've now extended it to entire laptops also so the guys with 2011 models can get 2012 models without having to buy a whole new laptop.
But anyway, Happy Easter
Thanks! -
Hey Myth, do you guys do upgrades for other/older Sager chassis?
I've got a D900F that I purchased from PCTorque, and it needs a case replacement, and a GPU upgrade. (And possibly a 95%/Matte monitor too). -
We can do the GPU upgrade (They'll be expensive), depends on what part of the case, as complete cases aren't exactly easy to get any more. Finally its a 17" LCD, so there isn't a 95% gamut version. But shoot us an email / PM and we'll see what we can do =) -
Honestly mythlogic is only $15-20 more than xotic.
The difference I noticed is that they just add two things that xotic makes optional.
The IC thermal compound (Which honestly should be a requirement for any clevo laptop to begin with), and the monitor calibration (which isn't bad).
They also add in the price of windows. If you scroll down and remove it to no OS it'll save you ~90$
If you add the IC thermal + monitor calibration on xotic it only ends up being in the ballpark of $20 cheaper.
$20 seems completely reasonable when they aren't sager resellers and have an upgrade plan. I know I'll be buying my np9270 through them when the 3d screens come out. -

We're working on some prices now for him =) -
