My new Clevo P570WM odered from XoticPC (NP9570)

So I just ordered the following Thursday afternoon:

I am pretty excited it went into build this afternoon.

Josh the sales guy was great, honest, and forth right on all my questions(I had bunches including the dreaded dead pixel scenario). Melissa in verifications took care of moving my order to build in a day which is great.

Now the 5-13 day wait for the build and then the 3 day UPS shipping I chose.

I am a computer consultant and will be running a Windows Server 2008 R2 VM with SharePoint 2013 developing on Visual Studio 2012/.Net 4.5 and also running SQL Server 2012 (these are main reasons I bought this) on this laptop for work.

Some other notes I will be adding 2 Intel 520 240GB SSDs (Good ol Amazon Prime 2 day shipping, saved ~$80, I guess I can stare at these babies for a while) running Raid 0 with all three drives. I wanted 480GB drives but they are non-existent right now, I also heard performance is better with the 240s, and they cost significantly less.

I struggled with the 3930K vs. the 3970X but after research and considering the best value since the performance was marginal I chose the 3930K. The only thing I still have in the back of my mind is the power difference the 3970X requiring significantly less power which reduces heat. Oh well it is what it is.

I will keep everyone posted on my experience. I did some research both on the hardware and the reseller and this is where I landed. This forum played a big role in my decision and I just wanted to thank you all.

Wow, so I get home from Chicago tonight, go to dinner, get back home and decide to check my order status and bam shipped scheduled to show up Tuesday EOD. Very impressive!

Laptop showed up Tuesday EOD as scheduled. Packaged nicely. Well built. RAID 0 Intel 520 240GBs super fast reads and writes. Overall very fast laptop 7.3 Windows experience rating. All drivers on CD of course I got updated drivers online. Easy to add drives. Easy RAID setup well documented. UEFI. Booted from my USB 2.0 key for quick Windows 8 install. Runs my VM nicely. I like the lighting and keyboard backlighting. Glad I had a Notepal cooler to hold the laptop, I highly recommend one mine is the older version which I like better than the new one personally. It is heavy but expected that. Everything works out of the box very pleasant experience. I highly recommend the NP9570 and purchasing from XoticPC. Thanks for the great experience XoticPC and once again to all the members out here who posted great info to help me on my decision. Now to put this beast to work. I am a big ASUS fan (my favorite desktop MB and laptops too) but this Clevo rocks no other manufacturer can touch it IMO. Unfortunately GPU Z doesn't run on it and MSI Afterburner doesn't show the fan speed or allow controlling the fan speed but other than those two pieces of software all my other software seems to run fine.
