Not sure what thread to put this in but here goes. If you don't like to read much summary...4 orders and a month later I still have no computer and am awaiting a refund.
Placed an order with xoticpc last month and paid for my computer. About a week later was told it was discontinued and out of stock.
Placed a 2nd order for a more expensive computer but it had an i7 instead of the i5 processor I originally ordered so whatever. About a week later was told it was out of stock too.
Printed out the specs as configured of 2 different models to decide which for my 3rd order. Both more expensive than the 2nd order. The next day went to place the order and the option for a msata ssd was no longer there. I asked and was told that was never a legitimate option on that model...website slip up.
At which point I asked why the 1st model was still showing on the website. They checked and said several of them showed up in a shipment and they had not expected them. Offered to send out the original order. (My now 4th attempted order).
Then a few days later was told that they were out of stock yet again and to add insult to injury they had fulfilled orders that were placed after my 1st order but before my 4th order. RUBBISH!
Offered me another model for yet again more money and offered $15 off, a free game code or backpack, rush ordering (umm it's already a month late).
I asked for a refund.

I ordered from xoticpc 7 years ago so I was a repeat customer. Needless to say I'll never do business with them again and will never recommend them to anyone.

Not surprised at all, read my thread here:
XOTIC PC prices are insane!
they are offering old SSDs to get rid of the garbage stock, not only that, instead of offering them at lower prices since they're old, they are offering the 840 EVO for 20% more than its current market value and offering a last gen PCIe SSD at 150% more of its retail price! I know they have to make money but not this way, that's cheating. Will never buy anything from them EVER! Especially after hearing your story!
Heck when I called once wanting to order a PC, I asked the sales rep do you guys offer the Alienware Area 51, he was like, what is that? I'm like......urghh, nevermind........ *click* -
I'd build myself but not really sure if you can do a diy laptop like that.

RJtech sells barebones clevo laptops and parts. I've yet to make any purchases from them but I'm preparing to buy their P750zm-G barebones and put the CPU, SSD, HDD, RAM, thermal paste and possible WLAN myself. It is the closest thing to DIY laptop building that I could find.
When all assembled the price of the machine isn't that much cheaper than other retailers, but buying all my parts discounted or used helps to reduce the final cost on a budget. -

I am editing this post as I have found out Pat was helping you with the order and he will follow with as much help he can.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

As mentioned in your post that you linked the 850 EVO's were added. We also got the 750 PCIe SSD on many models as well.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Just a note I have purchased from them (RJ Tech bought a 980m) and all went smoothly. Also purchased from XoticPC and had a great experience, so I'm sorry OP that you've had such a bad time, that's terrible luck, but not that many companies would take the time to respond to you ^^.

It was actually an MSI model that we were looking at, not a Sager. It isn't a normal situation that something like this happens, and we try to avoid issues like this as much as possible. But with new models came out, there were some suddenly discontinued models without any kind of notice they were getting cancelled, and it does bring up unforeseen issues. In order to try to make up for any inconvenience, I did what I could to offer some options that I could add to the order, to at least try to make a better value out of everything. Unfortunately if a model is marked down by the manufacturer, we might not be able to work with the price as much, but at least try to offer to add in additional items that might work for you. Again, I apologize about the situation, and if there is anything else I can ever do for you, just let me know.

Not surprising. They still list many wrong configurations. There is no M.2 mSATA! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2
The NP9773 does not have mSATA SSDs, They are M.2 SATA or M.2 PCIe
http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np9773-clevo-p770zmg-p-8299.html?wconfigure=yes
From "mSATA SSD Drive - Configuration Option" through "mSATA SSD Drive (Slot 2)" All wrong! -

I have asked our web team to remove "mSATA" when its a m.2 drive, and just say m.2 SSD. I sent them another request and linked your proof incase they needed any more nudge, thanks!Bullrun likes this. -
Thank you! It led to some confusion when people wanted to get an SSD in the "Which Notebook Should I Buy" forum.
You may also want to see if the reply to an e-mail sent from chat is fixed. I think I read about the same issue in another thread. I received an e-mail reply from chat, apparently, I was too late for live chat. I replied to an e-mail from Andrew but I never received a reply. It was in regard to the same M.2 issue. -

We are in chat from 9-5:30PM M-F Central time and working on getting weekends covered. If you try to chat outside of those hours you will get an option to leave an email and we get back to them usually on the next business day. If you PM me your email address I can check with Andrew to see what the status of his reply is. Sometimes on messages left over the weekend it may not be until Tuesday as there can be quite a few to reply back to. But I will be happy to follow up for you.Last edited: Jun 23, 2015
