First of all i have never been a hardcore a gamer and would have never thought that i would have to deal with specialized gaming laptop developers working in medical field. But one of the products that my company sells used to come with a full tower workstation and the workstation was discontinued. So i had to find a portable replacement for demonstration unit.
The laptop that i needed wasn't much demanding. It required a fast desktop CPU, min 7200rpg HDD's with raid 1 config and some customization in display's colour temperature / RBG settings and most importantly it needed to be more portable then a 25kg workstation-monitor combo. Researching laptops with desktop CPU's, i couldn't find a single mainstream notebook manufacturer with the specifications i need (Or they weren't available for sale in Turkey).
Anyway, searching desktop cpu in a laptop, i came across Originpc. I liked the reviews, the design was cool and they had screen calibration service, so i had fun creating a great config for a EON-17X, i have sent the config the their sales along with my requirements regarding screen settings. I was told that my questions were being evaluated and their mobile product manager would contact me soon. It was on July 10th, on 13th i sent them a reminder yet i still haven't received a reply. So that was that.
After Originpc i found another custom workstation builder called boxxtech. They were more focused on industrial solutions and their global website was great and packed with info. So i have sent them my requirements. They have forwarded my request to their resellers in Turkey. BTW the laptop i was looking for had only one requirement for graphics card and it was compatibilty with Opengl v1.1. Both of the resellers of Boxxtech suggested that the laptop i was going to purchase had a quadro graphics card. Seeing that either they were trying to rip me off or had no idea about the products they were selling, i decided against boxxtech and continued my search.
Finally, i came across mythlogic. Their prices were more reasonable then the first two options and reviews on the internet were very positive. So I have ordered a MYTHLOGIC Phobos 1715 Chassis (Clevo P770ZM) with 4790S (initially ordered 4790k but because of my worries regarding overheating 4790s was suggested by mythlogic) and 970M graphics card. I have finalized my order on July 30th and made the transfer. The order is supposed to be shipped today.
Now, my actual experience during sales was above average. They were able to actually help with the requirements i had. But they weren't as fast as i was hoping for. Receiving replies to my each question before order took around a day. And after the order for the first 14-15 days shipping status stayed as payment confirmed. Only last week it turned to QA analysis and then shipment prep, during this period my questions regarding an anticipated shipment date was left unanswered (Their live help did answer my question (without enthusiasm though) sales person haven't). So i can't say i was impressed with that. I am hoping to receive the laptop within next week, if customs clearance goes without any problems, i will be unboxing the product with excitement.
My boss was also impressed with the power this laptop packs on paper. After receiving this unit, we will be testing it extensively, if we find that there are no problems (especially with overheating) we will be ordering at least one more unit with 15" display from Mythlogic. Hopefully this time they will be more attentive though.
I will be updating this thread once i receive the actual product.

Hi,
We hope that you receive the laptop soon, and testing goes well. We apologize for the lack of some emails, we had a few people go on vacation during the (short) Michigan summer. But we do really hope that you enjoy the laptop
thanks! -
My laptop has finally arrived.
I am actually typing this post on the new laptop. But before i get into the device itself, i have a very important suggestion to international customers; make sure that you know regulations and procedures on importing these devices and explain your requirements clearly to the reseller.
In my purchase; wrong business title was put to waybill. My company had a very seasoned custom agent so we were able to clear the laptop from customs without much work and delay but if it was someone else without knowledge and help of a professional. they would be in a very bad situation because DHL's suggestion in my case was to either get seller the call back the shipment and ship back with correct title or get the seller to write a notarized statement and get this statement apostilled in a Turkish Embassy in US which i am guessing nowhere near Michigan. So if you are ordering from outside of US double check customs situation and the paperwork.
On the actual laptop, packing is great. It is box inside the box inside box and t has arrived without a scratch. I was looking forward to the t-shirt but it wasn`t included in the pack. There was a great mousepad though love the feel of the pad. Everything else was great, Mythlogic could have included an european power cord or power adapter that would have been a nice gesture. I had to drive around to find an adapter after receiving the shipment. The machine itself is a monster. First of all this thing is huge. I use a 17" lenovo as my daily driver and carry it in my backpack to and from work. So i am used to bulky laptops but his thing is really heavy. It is a truly desktop replacement. I have been using this machine on my lap for an hour now and my left foot which is carrying the bulk of the machine is starting to get sleepy from the machine, But i was prepared for this and for what it can do, it is not a real problem. The benchmarks and temperature reports inside the machine are impressive. In my short time using it i feel like i might miss this when we send this thing on road.
Only negative point i have found with this is the touchpad's click buttons. I am not sure if the laptops i have used before had really hard buttons or if this one have really soft ones but the click buttons are truly soft, they work perfectly buti guess i am not used to this soft buttons.
My experience with Mythlogic
