I received my new P170SM a couple of days ago and boy is it a beaut. :)

I ordered from XoticPC and Derek was great in making sure my order got pushed through.

Order Phase 1 : July 23 - Order confirmation. Pretty straight forward, speced my computer online asked Derek about the config, he said all looks good. He even recommended some options to me.

Order Phase 1 : July 24 - Payment confirmation. Sent in my check via USPS Priority. However, it seems as though XoticPC lost my check as I had to ask Derek if they received my check and seems like my check was lost in limbo. They eventually found it but I lost about a week.

Order Phase 2 : August 2 - Sent for custom building

Order Phase 3 : August 7 - Sent for additional customization - I added monitor calibration, overclocking, and copper cooling

Order Phase 4 : August 15 - Order Shipped - Had to ask Derek about the status of my order a couple of times but it finally shipped.

I received my laptop on the 21st. I probably should have asked for expedited UPS shipment as it seems like they misplaced my check but why would they spend money on me when they are running a business? ;) But it was worth the wait.

All in all, I was very happy with the level of customer service. I would recommend buying from them and I would also be a returning customer if I'm able to buy an SLI model. Hah!

    Pete

    ****************UPDATE*******************

So, I received a courtesy email from Tanner of XoticPC asking me if I had any questions or problems with my computer thus far. Email dated:11-27-13. I replied back on 12-09-13 with the following issues/concerns:

    1. Whenever I try to restart or shutdown my computer (about 80% of the time), it seems to "hang" on the shutdown and restart screens. After I get tired of waiting (about 1-2 mins), I just hold down the power button until the unit shuts down.

    2. Occasionally, certain programs such as Origin or iTunes, will not launch for some reason, and I would have to restart the computer.

    3. I seemed to have lost the OC settings in MSI Afterburner. I had you guys do the OC for my system and I see that you have included a screenshot of the settings. However, I am having difficulty duplicating those results. I believe it may be due to the fact that I am not too acquainted with the MSI Afterburner software.

    4. There is an icon called "KeepSafe" on my desktop. I can't delete it or remove it from my desktop. When I double click on it i get a message that says "KeepSafe initialization failed".

I received the following reply back dated 01-17-14 only after I sent another email because I haven't gotten a reply back:

"If you are having issues with the laptop, Please fill out an RMA on the website. This will provide us with the information we need to assess the situation and help you out!

    http://www.xoticpc.com/rma_request.php"

I don't really think I would consider this a RMA situation but I wish I would have gotten some better customer service. I was able to fix most of these issues myself after I had upgraded to Windows 8.1 and updated all my drivers through the Sager website. Thus, I reached the conclusion that while XoticPC was "customizing" my computer, some "bugs" or something else prevented my computer from operating at an optimal level.

In conclusion, for my future computer needs, I think I would be much better of going through Mythologic or Digital Storm or Origin as they actually have direct control over the whole customization and building process.

Sorry to hear about the issues, they seem mostly software related which are very hard for us to control before the computer ships out as those programs are installed by the user like Origin and iTunes.

For help getting MSI afterburner set back up you are welcome to give our 24hr phone tech support a call as well which can be found under the "Contact" section on our site.

If you do send a new email that isnt part of the original thread they will ask you to fill out the RMA form so we can get the info needed. I do agree "RMA" isnt the best name as not all do require a return. I'll see if we can get that changed to something more universal maybe "Service"

I'll talk to Tanner on Monday to see if he has any ideas to help you with the above mentioned issues.

    Hutsady,

It's no longer an issue as I reformatted my computer. And I did send the email as part of the original thread of emails.

I am glad that you have gotten your issues resolved, and for future inquiries and all service needs, we have a dedicated service department to assist our customers.
