A Bit of History
First off let me say I tend to NEVER post on forums, I lurk and lurk and absorb information. I have been doing that for literally months while trying to decide EXACTLY what notebook and notebook seller I was going to go with. I've read new and old posts about just about every make\model\reseller (or builder in Mythlogic's case). I had finally decided to go with Mythlogic after debating between them and XoticPC. In the end I went with my gut (and all of the good feedback) and decided on Mythlogic. Well that was the first step, then I had to decide how much and exactly what I wanted to buy (I knew I would be going for the Clevo at this point of course). I started looking before the 4th gens came out and just placed the order yesterday. It took, my wife telling "Just order the Darn thing" (Although in much more colorful language). To her credit I had been talking about it since April, and saved birthday, fathers day and anniversary "credits" in order to justify the purchase to myself (not to her she was ok with it). That made me finally push the button so to speak.
Before Sale Service
Before the sale I had several questions. ALL of my questions were promptly answered via email when I sent the system in.I primarily dealt with Charlie Brown via email and used their online chat as well for last minute stuff. Answers were prompt, courteous, and funny. In fact due to a comment about BBQ (in MI?) I challenged Charlie to try Franklin's in Austin sometime. It was accepted, I hope he gets down here, there's nothing like it.
Order Process
I will put here a summary of the process with dates and comments. I am not sure of everyone else but the The process has a total of 8 steps, I will try and update as we go:
Step 0a: Agonize over who to buy from - April 2013
Step 0b: Decide on Mythlogic - May 2013
Step 0c: Pick system and justify to self - June 2013
Step 0d:Tick wife off and she demands you get it over with already! - August 2013 At least she can't complain about the purchase now.
Step 0e: Ask lots of Questions and push the buttons - August 8,2013 It was actually a relief to do this and I am feeling great so far about the purchase.
Step 1: Initial Processing - - Ordered August 8th, In processing overnight
Step 1a: Pending Payment - - Skipped or went by so fast I did not see (and I was checking)
Step 2: Payment Complete - Checked on 8\11 in the morning and was in 1 and then in the evening it was in 2. Now to gather some parts!
Step 3: Parts Allocation Complete - Just checked it tonight and it arrived to Step 3 on 8/14/2013!
Step 4: In Build Queue - In the Queue as of 8/17/2013 around 5:30PM Central.
Step 5: Hardware Build - Jumped today 8\21\2013
Step 6: QA and Test - Then I got a big surprise jumped to Step 6 this evening right around 7pm central 8\21\2013
Step 7: Ready to Ship - Notified via email at 2AM CST or 3AM EST that it was ready to go! 8/27/2013
Step 8: Shipped - Received the email tracking number last night shipped and on its way. Three short\long days and the wait will be over. 8/27/2013
Step 9 ARRIVAL and Unboxing!!

- Intel Core i7-4800MQ 2.7GHz, 6M L3 Cache, 22nm, DDR3L-1600MHz, Quad-Core Mobile Processor - Almost got the 4900 but decided that the 4800 was the best value

- NVIDIA 780M 4096MB GDDR5 DX11 Compliant Video Card - Maybe I will have them move this to later after I get it, but this was what I could justify to myself for now.
- Notebook Black 6X BD-ROM/5X DVD+RW Blu-Ray Combo Drive
- Plextor M5M 256GB mSATA Solid State Drive
- 1TB 7200 32MB Cache SATA Notebook Hard Drive - Pretty good combo these two drives, i just hope I have enough room. But then drives are cheap and easy.

- Lifetime Phoenix Upgrade Plan
- MYTHLOGIC Tribal T-Shirt
- MYTH Mousepad and System Media
I added in Gargoyle Beer Money - 12 Pack Cube and requested pics of the demolished pack, (hopefully AFTER the system is built!). This is what led to the BBQ conversation. Total cost with shipping was $25 cheaper due to a code they have on their facebook page and then was even cheaper because of a shipping reduction. Total about $2800.
Other Thoughts
8/9/2013 Going to sound like a broken record but: The experience so far is awesome, one thing is that I even before I ordered my machine, (I was still justifying the purchase), I convinced my father to order his business desktop from them. I was rather surprised I did as he tends to go the DELL route because its cheaper. But I think all of the customization options and the service really wowed him. As far as I know his machine is in QA right now and will be shipped soon.
*Update 1* 8/12/2013 Finally out of payment (card cleared on the 9th, but I guess it is a couple of days to before Myth get's their payment). I think the wait is going to kill me at this point, usually patient about this stuff but I am really excited. I keep second guessing choices, but have not acted on them, I mean surely another 780M would be worth it right? Or maybe even a sweet paint-job? But then that would just delay things. And cost more.
*Update 2* 8/14/2013 All the parts have been allocated! Which means they have them or are on order. It probably saved me from myself before I changed or added something I don't really need immediately! If the build times hold to their average I will get the laptop prior to a couple of days off I have scheduled in about two weeks. Funny thing is it moved just as I was about to ask and make sure everything was ok and that nothing was on back-order. Great timing. As an aside my father's desktop wound up with a bad MB I believe and the folks at Mythlogic caught it during QA. So the 72-hour burn-in does work! I think between that and my own laptop that I can convince him to get his next laptop from them. Did send a message and Charlie responded right away even after hours.
*Update 3* 8/17/2013 Three days from parts to build queue. That's about what I expected. At this rate, it is looking good to have it by the time my couple of days off get here. With a 72 hour burn-in (and hopefully no problems) and three day shipping, there is at least six days, throw in time to get to those systems ahead of me, and build, I figure it should be hitting just perfect..
*Update 4* 8/21/2013 Jumped to Hardware Build (Step 5) today early on and then to QA and Test (Step 6). To quote their website "The machine is being loaded with Windows and run through a series of benchmarks to stress the components." From elsewhere on the webpage I know this is supposed to be a 72-hour thing so three days of QA and then pack up and ship! I am going to miss my day off, but maybe will have to leave early to make sure I get the package when it arrives! I originally asked for three day shipping, That would make it about a week until I get the system in. I would definitely consider quicker shipping, to end this torture. I don't think I have ever been this excited\anxious for anything I purchased!
*Update 5* 8/25/2013 No step up to build complete yet. That kinda makes me nervous there might be a QA issue, If there is not a change tomorrow plan to contact and just check on the status. It's been more than 72 hours so I hope it is just that they were so busy with everyone's system mine was not updated quite yet. If it ships out tomorrow I should have it by the end of the week. Which means in time for Labor Day weekend. I will miss my bonus vacation day I had planned but that is OK if all works well. Still think that I may consider upping the delivery, if I could get it paid in time to not delay the shipment.
On another note, trying to decide what bag to get. Leaning heavily towards a Slappa Kiken, because it would look the most professional, however the MASK backpack is awesome in and of itself. Of course maybe I get both and give one to my daughter for school and then when she does not use it, I take it over...
*Update 6* 8/27/2013 LBJ's Birthday - Moved from QA to Step 7 Ready to ship! last night LATE. In fact I was notified of the status change via an email around 2:00 CST (3EST). Which was awesome in and of itself and WAY beyond the call of duty. Not only that they identified that although I could do 2 day it would get here Thursday (for +120 more), or my original 3-day would put it in Austin on Friday just like standard UPS ground. That being redundant Jeff identified a cost savings if I stuck with the standard shipping. That's pretty cool service. Especially since, i know it takes personnel time to change charges, shipping etc. it would have been easy enough to just not tell me the difference but instead Jeff and crew showed how much they appreciate the customer and gave me the options. System ships today! Will update with review and pics as soon as it gets in.
*Update 7* 8/27/2013 The system shipped, just as they said. So three days and it will be here. Pics to come.

Nice! I'm waiting for my 3713 3D from them too after changing parts and delaying them XD My experience has also been amazing, and quick too. Tons of questions and requests done in the middle of the night! But I didn't realize the beer purchase was for the crew haha, I should have clicked on more info. Perhaps it's a rush build option in disguise lol
"Give the Gargoyle some beer money! This is for a 12-pack of bottles. Ingestion of this large quantity of beer has been known to greatly accelerate the Gargoyle's production speed...." -
That wins the grand prize for "funniest option ever" -
Yeah, that option made me laugh. One reason I added it and plus I figured a little bribery works!

Update 2 Added

Update 3 Added - I sis not say this originally but when I get it in I will post some pics.
-
Update 4 added and a link to Mythlogic's page in the first paragraph. Hopefully six days (or less!) till it arrives.
-
My laptop just moved into the build and QA-Test phases yesterday too. You're right...it's a long torturous wait but it's worth it!

-
Remember most of the QA is manual
72 Hours is a best guess, but basically they get through QA when the boss approves of them and their temps, so its not a stop-watch of 72 hours hehe. -

Update 7 Added. Also here is a pic of the Magic Hat #9!
The laptop is somewhere between Hodkins IL and Austin, Tx. I'm hoping I can be off work most the day tomorrow to be able to sign. I think I might go nuts if no one is around when it is delivered. -
We have already informed UPS to drive around with it just for fun and entertainment.. Scan it a few times in a few cities around you
Please note: We are obviously kiddingdeadsmiley likes this.
