I had been looking at laptops for months. I started searching the web for "gaming laptops" and ended up at the usual CyberPower type sites. Nothing there was to my liking and I somehow came across Sager/Clevo laptops. I had never heard of them before but I soon figured that this was a good route to go. So, now it came down to which "reseller" to go with. Mythlogic's website sold it for me. It is simple without a thousand confusing options or horrendous bright and flashing banners. Digging further I discovered that they weren't simply resellers but build their laptops on site in their store. Perfect!
I picked a laptop that fit into my price range, made a few adjustments and submitted my order. I chose to pay with a check and this saved my 3% off the price.
My configuration:
MYTHLOGIC Pollux 1413 (Clevo W350ST)
15.6" Full HD (1920x1080) Matte LED Backlit LCD
Free MYTH Professional Monitor Color Calibration
Intel Core i7-4700MQ 2.4GHz
Free IC Diamond Thermal Compound
16GB 1600MHz
NVIDIA 765M
8X DVD+RW/CDRW
750GB 7200 I've since added a Samsung 840 500GB SSD
Intel Centrino Advanced-AC 7260 2*2 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n
Windows 7 Home Premium
After placing the order they update their site each step of the way so you never wonder whats going on with your machine. It should be noted that Mythlogic do extensive testing of your laptop before sending it out. This isn't the place to go if you want someone to just pull a box off a shelf and mail it to you right away. I placed my order online on August 5th and received the laptop on August 28th. Waiting for the check to get to Mythlogic and for it to clear adds a lot of time too. Your millage with turnaround time may vary.
The machine came packaged very, very well. Included with the laptop was a mouse pad, T-shirt, and system media. I asked if they would send a couple stickers of their logo along and they did. Very cool.
Starting up for the first time you notice the Mythlogic logo on the BIOS screen before booting into Windows. Included on the desktop is a file of the benchmark results from their testing of the laptop. I'm not savvy enough to know what they all mean but it's nice they do that none the less. What is NOT included is a bunch of bloatware(yay!).
I'm sure I'm missing something but those are my thoughts for now. I HIGHLY recommend Mythlogic and will buying any future machines from them.
10/10
