Wanted to document my experience ordering from HIDevolution for anyone who's on the fence for some reason. Apologies for being in the Clevo area, but I didn't see a reseller's review area in the MSI gate.

First off all, my background. I am a 20-25 male who is doing web development for work. I was looking for a laptop that would handle my web development since my work computer is ridiculously slow. At home, I was using an HP with AMD A6-5200, 4GB SDRAM, integrated GPU, and some SanDisk 250GB SSD. It was fine, but couldn't handle the loads I put on the CPU with running programs like Postman, FTP Clients, even something as simple as Visual Studio Express. I decided enough was enough and I needed something better, lest I give up the will to live between the molasses of my work computer and underwhelming performance of the HP.

I haven't bought a computer in four years, so I started poking around the internet and found/started looking at computers like the Acer Swift 3/Aspire 5. Stuff in that $600-$800 range. I was impressed with what you could get for that money these days. That budget started opening up stuff with the i5-8250U processor, 8GB of RAM, and even some factory installed SSD's. But I couldn't shake the feeling that I should spend a few hundred more and get something in the $1000 range. Something with an i7, dedicated GPU, etc. So I Googled "high end laptops" and one of the first results was HIDevolution. I clicked on them and started poking around and saw an MSI GL63 for $899. The specs looked pretty damn good for $899. Then I saw that there was a GP73 with GTX 1060 on sale for $1099. I clicked on it, went through the configuration list, and added one to my cart. Then I left the site.

A few days later I got an email from a guy named Ted that was asking about the computer left in my cart. I asked him a few questions, posted here on NBR for the first time, and was looking at dropping $1200+ on a GP73 build. With the guidance of Ted and Ultra Male, I ended up placing an order for the setup in my signature, sans Samsung EVO. Ted and Ultra Male both answered all my dumb questions. At first I thought Ted was trying to upsell me with thermal upgrades and pixel warranty, but then I posted here and got set straight.

So I placed the order one week ago on 11/19, a properly configured GP73 for $1,329.00 (after NBR discount, of course) which was double what I had originally set out to spend on a laptop and a good ~$400 more than my hard limit was. But I know I'm getting a hand configured machine with excellent warranty. One that will last me for many years and with more power than I'm ever going to need for my work.

My build day is slated for 11/30, which includes me emailing Ted yesterday, asking him to upgrade my HDD to a Samsung EVO SSD, which he promptly charged me for and got changed in the build. Customer service has been second to none thus far. I will update when I get a shipping notification.

It's been a great experience. So much so that I've already recommended HIDevolution to my friend that's looking for a new gaming laptop in the same price range as my build.

Awesome feedback and great configuration. Do it once, do it right, and never look back. You might have spent a bit more than you intended but I am certain you will be blown away with your new laptop/performance.

HIDevolution has been great to me as well in every aspect be it the ordering process, warranty requests, and customer service which is why you see me recommending them everywhere, out of pure passion to what this company does and how they cater to us enthusiasts.

Can't wait till we see your impressions about your new machine when you get it [IMG]

Wanted to update this thread now that I've been using the machine for just under a week. I received the machine on Wednesday of last week and have been playing with it ever since. I just spent the morning of my day off playing the COD BO4 that came bundled and temps haven't even broken 80°, with the laptop cooling back down to 50° within a minute or so! The thermal upgrades and customer service are enough to convince me that I'll never order another machine that's not from HIDevolution.

Also, the tweaks that Ultra Male did for my machine has made Windows 10 and actually amazing experience instead of feeling like my system is one giant, spying ad. You can read my experiences here:

That is amazing man and superb temps you got there! That is one heck of a machine for the price you paid lemme tell ya!

After my experience the first time with HIDevolution and having had experienced their stellar customer service and hassle free warranty support, I also swore to never buy a machine if it's not from them!

Glad you're enjoying the Ultra Male Tweaks! One should NOT use Windows 10 without them unless they don't value their privacy and want to deal with a crappy UI out of the box.

Be smart...be like Ultra Male... [IMG]
