It's been a few weeks since anyone has written a new review so I figured I would keep the ball moving and start my review on XoticPC now and update as the order progresses (hope that is ok). To start off I have read many of the reviews pertaining to the US Clevo and Sager Resellers, both the good and the bad.
First Impressions:
The online chat feature is amazing! I started looking months ago and asked Jason so many questions I am almost surprised he didn't start ignoring me. Service was always prompt and much better than Dell online chat that I use often. XoticPC has a great presence on this site and they are chime in on posts and respond to PMs. I was looking for a sale or a deal to justify the new purchase so long story short I waited until now to buy a new laptop.
Placing the Order:
I was eager to place the order once the site launched its Skylake mobile line. So eager that I didn't wait until XoticPC worked out all its listing issues. I even pointed out a few that needed to be fixed as I closely looked over all the options trying to find the very best deal. I can't say it was a con, but I had to cancel my first order as 3 hours later the price dropped as a result of removing the Pixel Warranty and IC Diamond Tim off the one model I was purchasing (I new it was a mistake on the site). Within a few days they were all worked out as it was a new line I am sure most people would never of noticed. I got it all finalized the second time around and Pat that hangs out on the forum was really helpful going over everything with me about the order.
Processing the Order:
Based on some past reviews I paid credit card, that and my credit card offers me an additional one year warranty and 90 day price guarantee (can't beat that). After placing the order, I got an order confirmation, then the next day it went into stage 0 which is payment processing. I got an email this morning saying I put in the wrong credit card information and my card was declined. I called and had the issue resolved and my order processed in minutes. I then received an detailed email about the different stages and the building process. Pretty much explains everything.
So far so good! The laptop is on pre-order so I don't expect any updates for a bit, but I will update as information becomes available.

Shipment Received!
Finally received the RG on Friday! Box was intact and packaged nicely! Kinda got a good laugh about the graphics on the box and instruction manual.. Basically out of the 90's!
I looked the entire unit and everything was in perfect condition. I proceeded to opening it up to install an SSD which proved to be a pain (keep track is the two long screws and where they came from). Two of the screws gave me an issue, but I got it and the SSD was a breeze. Installed the OS from a thumb drive and we were off to the races!
I didn't bother with the CD of drivers and went to Sager and downloaded Windows 10 driver which they now have Windows 7 as well. Once that was all done I tested for Dead Pixels and I found ZERO! Even though I have the pixel warrant I was glad not to find any!
Thought on the 8658
Well I haven't started playing any games as I spent the weekend away. But I have spent some time surfing the internet for drivers and getting the download clients. I was under the impression the letters of the keys themselves lite up which is not the case, but the keyboard feels stiff and is quiet. Overall I really like the key board. I thought the hinges were metal, but they are plastic. I am a bit disappointed by that but it seems sturdy. It is very sleek and seems well built. The IPS Panel is stunning! I will be putting it through its paces and posting a more detailed review on the owners lounge which I will link later for anyone that is interested. Overall so for so good!
Final thoughts on XoticPC
XoticPC was great! Pat, Alex, and Jason were so helpful with updates, checking specs, and answering all of my questions for me. They were super prompt and I got several PM's from Pat very late and on weekends. When is this guy not working?! Some of the email updates gets confusing as its a bit of a copy and paste so I had to double check and confirm from time to time, but that wasn't an issue. I read some horror stories on the forum about XoticPC, but if you take some time to read through all the posts and understand the actual purchase/order process much of the problems can be avoided. I would totally order from XoticPC again on my next purchase! -

Thanks for taking the time to make a review on the whole process. I'm glad you like your computer.
Thank you again for purchasing it with us, and if I can ever help with anything, you know how to reach me! Enjoy the new system! -
could you let me know what watt power supply you have?
clevo lists it as a 200 watt power supply and all the resellers list it as 180 watts. I would appreciate it
