First off, i say this is in progress because i have yet to receive my laptop. Since im bored and have nothing to do i figured there was no harm in throwing this up and then updating it as things evolve.

    On 6/29/2012 i ordered a P150EM-SE Lotus P150EM SE (15 inch) with the config:

The day after i ordered, i submitted a ticket to Malibal asking if they could install W7 to the mSATA drive, and immediately (within 3 minutes) they responded with "We can indeed if you want." I told them to do it and they responded by saying that a note was added to the order.

this Friday (a day after my laptop was supposed to be built according tot he 7 day estimate) I emailed them again asking if there were going to be any delays on the lap top. They once again responded very quickly and told me they were waiting on a fresh shipment of 7970s, so early to mid next week my lap top should be built. I really don't see a need to hound them for compensation because market supplies are out of their control.

So far i would say aside from the extreme lightening of my wallet, Malibal has been a pretty great experience. Will update the thread as new things happen ( and will give my impressions of the machine when i have it, if anyone cares).

they give you $50 off which is better than free ground shipping because not everyone wants ground shipping, which would cause them to lose the discount.

At least it seems they are also getting caught up on their backlog of builds. I would think the release of the 680m would get a few people off the 7970m boat and spread out the hardware drainage.

They both source their Clevo notebooks from Eurocom

I doubt this, as i tried building a machine with the same parts as my malibal set up has and Eurocom didn't even offer current gen i7's. Not calling you a liar or anything, but you gotta have some evidence if you state it as fact instead of opinion ( that sounds alot more snarky than i intend).

Monday i emailed them again asking for more information on that shipment and they replied with "we hope to receive it buy Friday". I hope mine goes into production as soon as they get them in....

Eurocom's site is unusual in that it offers both the P150HM and the P150EM. I would in their place specify that the Racer 2.0 is the EM...

There are many threads already explaining. Evidence shown that Malibal notebooks are shipped from New York, right across the border from Eurocom. There are ONLY 3 importers of Clevo in North America. Sager and Pro Star have said they are not the source for Mythlogic. So that only leaves Eurocom.

Malibal is essentially a Eurocom reseller for the US. Mythlogic reportedly do source their upgrade LCDs and parts directly from elsewhere though, so would still be considered a builder.

Why would you get last year's model? Although it doesn't support iGPU so you don't have to deal with Enduro, but you don't get the 4+ hour battery life.

Please stop running your mouth. It was my error, im human, allowed to make errors.

Secondly if Malibal sources its parts elsewhere like Myth does, then they can be extended the same "builder" status.

Wrong. Mythlogic sources the cases from Eurocomm. The parts they source directly elsewhere, so they are "building" the notebook. Then Mythlogic distributes the notebook to customers. Malibal is located in NV. The notebooks are distributed and originate from Eurocomm from Ontario, through New York and to customer. That's a MASSIVE difference.

Well I hope Malibal has offered 2nd to none service for such staunch defense from you and such vitrol attitude towards me informing you of what other NBR members have discovered as being Malibal customers, since Malibal tries to hide their business practice.

But considering you had to contact them on the 7th day to find out there would be a delay on your order, tells me no. But that's just me.

Good luck with your notebook and enjoy it. P150Em is a great machine.

Malibal now does not know when the cards will be imported because between here and Asia "there are a lot of delays". Getting tired of their bs.

Curious, did they contact you to notify of further delays and the unknown variables, which seem odd, since it goes from fab, to Clevo to tanker ship, there isn't any stops along the Pacific Ocean, then to Eurocomm. Or did you have to contact them to find this out?

Doesn't matter, during the conversation they offered to cancel my order and refund the money, but i said i fully understand the delays are a logistics head ache. That must have been too many syllables because their next replay was "We do not like to do business with people who call us liars". My reply was "If you wanna act like god ^&*( psychopath, then please cancel my order and ill take my money else where." Got my cancel notification 20 seconds later, they continued to talk crap to me, which i replied with "Customers are a finite resource, you need to treat them as such". I have 3 more angry emails from them.

So, im either gonna buy an MSI off Amazon with a 675m that i can get in 2 days, or talk to Mythlogic or Digital Storm. This has kind of soured me on the custom laptop idea. I really would like the supposed longevity of a 7970m but custom laptops are the only option for that. I guess a 675m could do :(

Mythlogic and XoticPC are both great at dealing with customers and I have seen a lot of good things about LPC. Malibal just scares me now. I was really close to going through them, but having great experience with XoticPC, I went with my gut and went back with them.

Hearing that Malibal has threatened people with Libel suits, which is BS and almost impossible to prove/win, has really turned me off. I will never recommend them after the stories I have heard recently. That is even with knowing a person that had good luck with them. It is in the tough times that companies show their true colors.

Too bad, but they have permanently been removed from my recommend list and will go as far to recommend looking at others IF people ask. Just too much smoke and add in that they stopped posting here and it seems took down their own public forum.

This is legendary customer service. They never fail to disappoint. I'm actually starting to hope -for their sake- to see a thread (that wasn't typed with a gun pointed at the person) praising them. I'm not even hoping for a thread that says something went wrong and they fixed it. Just that anythign went smoothly with them :D

Btw, Powernotebooks don't have delay issues with the 7970m, they're out of the bottleneck, I ordered mine and no delays are expected.

I really don't understand why they would so freely offer to cancel orders. Why are they so willing to say no to business? It's just so bizarre.

Given the choice between Digital Storm and Mythlogic, I'd go with Mythlogic. I just don't know anything about Digital Storm, but based on the postings on NBR of Mythlogic offering assistance to any Clevo owner, whether it's a customer of theirs or not, they seem to be good to me. Also at least you know they are about as custom as they come.

hmm.... sounds like the ppl working at malibal aren't the real ones who started the company........ feels more like the owner hired lazy workers who want to cancel orders so they don't have to work and still get paid....... idk what else to think xD

Doesn't matter, after waiting a few weeks for that nonexistent build to happen, I Ordered an MSI GT 70 with a 675m off amazon and it will arrive thursday. Damn near guaranteed. Would have loved to go with Mythlogic since they are upfront guys that can show a sense of humor with the customer, but the wait was just too damned great.

If I was the owner and saw this trend I would most certainly do something about it. It is not hard to find replacements in this industry for people acting like jerks to customers.

You probably can upgrade it to the 680M or 7970M yourself.
