Just ordered my first Sager NP9170 through XoticPC

Just ordered my first Sager laptop via XoticPC and so far Derek S. has been awesome. He gave me some of his personal inputs on things when i asked him what he thought and was very kind and professional through the process (especially since i contacted them via live chat like 4x) w/o trying to upsell me on anything. He even got me the NBR discount afterwards since i didnt know it existed till later. So far here is my order:

Everything is going smoothly. I just got an email from Alison saying that she applied the NBR discount. Also got another follow up saying the 7970m was delayed on shipment (which i already knew) till early-mid June. She asked if i wanted to get the 675m (which i declined) instead. I can wait. First time experience with XoticPC has been great, and i know it wont be the last. This wait is killing me though.... (shakes fist at AMD)

 

Don't worry, in the end, waiting for the 7970M is worth it. It's absolutely awesome.

 

Yeah im not in a rush. I feel a lil dirty since ive always been a Nvidia guy but the benchmarks speak for themselves. I guess Nvidia for my desktops and AMD for my mobile. Best of both worlds

Update

Just got my laptop and i have got to say this thing flies! Switched to my ssd and couldnt be happier. XoticPC kept me in the loop with everything. Thanks again! BTW, was i supposed to get a black carrying case?

Contact XoticPC or any other Sager reseller. Sager resellers are not allowed to advertise their discounts on this forum. Plus what you hear from here, is not what you may be offered or guaranteed. Only way to do it, is to just configure on their website and then ask them for a quote on what they can offer you for a best price. Remember to mention you are an NotebookReview member.

My suggestions to lower price further:
- Buy the cheapest ram possible (Upgrade yourself, NewEgg offers great prices on ram and they have the ADATA, which is the current fastest ram with lowest voltage and coolest ram that Ivey Bridge/HM77 supports.
- Go to FrozenCPU and just order the ICD7 yourself and apply it. It's really easy. Just apply a rice grain sized dot or line on the CPU and GPU, place the heatsink back on. Done, 5 minutes.
