Just ordered an NP6872 from Sager! And already had an amazing experience with customer support.

I ordered a Sager NP6872 around two hours ago. I had to use my mom's credit card, since I'm too young to have one, but I entered my name as the shipping name. Their system ignored that the names were different and put my name as the billing name. I caught it and emailed them, and they fixed it within a few minutes.

Let's compare that with my experience with Dell, from last week: Order an Inspiron 15 7567. Put my name for shipping, mom's name for billing. Place order. Their system accepts it, and the next day, my order is "confirmed." Then, the day after that, the order is cancelled without reason. Their system did notify me via email that my order was cancelled, which is more than they've done for some other customers, so at least they did that. I emailed them about it, and it took two days for them to send a canned response saying they cancelled because they tried to contact me via phone and email to ask about the credit card information for security purposes. Had they actually contacted me or my mom, we would have been happy to confirm that everything was entered correctly. However, we received no phone calls or emails from Dell.

That experience with Dell is why I picked the Sager, and I'm sure I'll be more satisfied with it anyway. Its battery isn't as big, which is a consideration since it's collectively replacing a short-lived MacBook Air and an Alienware 14, both of which I sold to be able to afford it, but the screen size is what I wanted. As 17 inch screens become less and less common, my preference for them seems to grow. It's also more powerful than the Dell would have been, and I've already experienced Sager's customer service responding to me about a thousand times (literally!) faster than Dell's, which I feel is a good sign in and of itself.

    Specs on the Sager:
    - 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ Processor ( 6MB Smart Cache, 2.80GHz)
    - 17.3" Full HD IPS Matte Display (1920 x 1080)
    - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti GPU with 4GB GDDR5 Video Memory / Optimus Technology
    - Stock Standard Thermal Compound
    - Windows® 10 Home 64-Bit Edition Preinstalled
    - 8GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2400MHz - 1 X 8GB
    - 256GB SanDisk X400 Series SATA3 Solid State Disk Drive [+$50.00]
    - Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 AC Wireless LAN + Bluetooth Module

Specs on the Dell I tried to order:
    Core i5-7300HQ
    15.6" Full HD display
    GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
    Windows 10 Home 64-bit
    8GB DDR4 SDRAM
    256GB SSD

Specs on the Alienware this Sager is replacing:
    Core i7-4710MQ
    14.0" Full HD display
    GeForce GT 750M (really underwhelming)
    Windows 10 Home 64-bit
    8GB DDR3 SDRAM
    1TB HDD (which I'm keeping)

Really, the Sager needs to be able to do the basics (word processing for school, web browsing), run PowerDirector quickly, and play ESO smoothly. Also, I picked an SSD to lower its power consumption because battery life is a concern. Since my desktop PC (a Core 2 Quad Q9550, 12GB DDR3, and GTX 750 Ti) does all those things very well, I feel like the Sager's performance will blow my mind

I'll post when I get the Sager and after I've had some time to mess with it! Hopefully it'll arrive soon, I've been without a real working laptop (the MacBook spontaneously stopped working after being in my car for a short while - not exposed to sun or extreme temperatures, and the Alienware's battery lasts about ten minutes and it has fan issues) for about two weeks already and I'm not a patient person! :)

Tony Huang from Sager just contacted me to ask me if I was fine with an M.2 SSD instead of a SATA SSD. I picked SATA initially because I felt like I'd be more than satisfied with ~500MB/s transfer speeds, and it was slightly cheaper. He told me that the SATA SSD I picked wasn't available right now but that he would have an M.2 SSD installed instead if I wanted. I said yes, and he said my notebook will ship tomorrow!

I do really appreciate that he contacted me to ask. While it would have been much faster to just go ahead and install an M.2 SSD (he said they had been waiting for two days for it to be in stock), that might have caused a problem if I had, say, planned to install my own M.2 SSD after getting it. So Sager's customer service gets another thumbs up!
