Terrific experience working with @Donald@HIDevolution today. He was personable, unhurried and gave great advice that actually saved me money. I've ordered many gaming systems, but this was the best experience I've ever had. Excited about my new system and knowing HIDevolution will be my tech support, if needed.

Wha?? You praising a non Clevo?

Aorus X7 is probably my favorite slim 17" though. Pretty epic with the 120Hz display.

Thanks! Your posts helped me make my decision. Your best laptops thread, in particular. I looked HARD at the p650 RS (every one of the 4000+ messages). The 1440 5ms screen helped sway me.

Yeah they are different categories. The P650RS is my favorite laptop that still looks like a "normal" laptop. It's 15" and not that thick, and exceptionally cooled. However, if I was willing to go for a bigger size I'd look at the SC17 and X7, or a huge desktop replacement like the P870DM or something. I might have had trouble deciding between the SC17 and X7 though, I love 4K displays, but the X7 also has an amazing display (definitely better for gaming). But I hate the bird on the trackpad a disproportionately high amount haha. It easily has the cooled keyboard aside from a Razer product though.

Yeah, the bird on the trackpad is my least favorite thing on the X7. I have always had 17 inch gaming laptops until I got a Razer Blade 2 years ago. I started looking at 15 inch systems because I wanted a bigger screen, but loved the portability and thought I'd split the difference. The p650 and MSI barebones were top of my list (after Alienware 15 thermal issues made it a non-starter). I broke late for the Aorus because the screen had no 15 inch equivalent.

You can probably get some sort of like DBrand type cover for it or something. Probably what I would do.

Donald from HIDevolution is the man. He went the extra mile for me as well. I'm excited for you Techhawk54! I'm very curious to how our temps with will look in reference to all the reviewers on stock thermal compounds.

I also am interested in your temps. I ordered the stock version off Amazon from EXcaliberPC. It was huge savings but no ability to customize. So I'll be doing a re-paste myself if it is needed.

I'm going to be stress testing it to see where temperatures go during the 30 day Amazon return anything window. Frankly, I don't care if the PC hits 90 on a stress test, as long as real gaming doesn't get that high.

Congratulations! You may get yours before I do. It doesn't look like they've started work on mine yet.
