Wow! Might be a record. Member here since 2008 and this is only my 2nd post! Yet, I've purchased 2 Sagers from users and now this one. Every time I'm ready to upgrade I do the majority of my research here. So thanks to those that contribute and provide so many of the answers that I never have to ask any questions!

Anyway, the ordering process was great with @Donald@HIDevolution walking me through and answering questions. Here's the build -

Awesome man! Congrats on the new beast!

Let me know when you get it if you want me to help you tweak it!

Here's what the tweaks consist of:

1- Uninstallation of all the Windows Store Garbage Apps
2- Removing all Windows 10 Privacy Invasion stuff like Telemetry, sending your keystrokes to Microsoft, automatically installing suggested apps in the background, allowing Microsoft to conduct experiments on your laptop, disabling automatic driver updates through Windows updates, disabling Windows 10 ads, disabling cortana, etc.
3- Removal of nVIDIA and Intel Telemetry
4- Adjusting a lot of options in PC Settings like disabling Windows Tablet Mode (you have a laptop not a tablet), disabling suggestions appearing in the start menu, disabling automatically connecting to Paid WiFi Hotspots, disabling Game DVR which reduced performance in games, and a lot more.
5- Replacing Cortana with a much better search tool that finds results instantly
6- Restoring the classic Windows 7 Calculator and Windows Photo Viewer
7- Restoring the Classic Windows 7 Start Menu

@Phoenix I saw your video on youtube on EVOC P870DM3, its really fantastic. But i have a doubt that how can i change the colors of keyboard keys of EVOC P870KM1 as we find it with msi laptops because you didn't told about this in your video.
I have asked this question to Ted as well yesterday and he alluded me to use windows utility software to do this, what is your opinion on this? Did you do this with your laptop as well?
And another question is that is it necessary to choose the display caliberation option provided by HIDevolution or is there any need to choose it at the time of purchase

    1) I had a P870DM3 not a P870KM1. I simply used the Clevo Center's Flexi Key utility to change the keyboard colors. I don't believe the KM1 should be any different but reconfirm with other KM1 users to make sure.

    2) Screen Calibration IMO is important on the screens of that model to give you the best color accuracy

flexi key is a small little utility that gets installed when you install the Clevo Control Center. It is usually installed by default on your laptop but you can easily download it yourself or update it yourself for when there IS an update for it.

@Phoenix Absolutely! Thank you for offering. I've been putting off the jump from 7 for exactly those reasons, specifically #2. I would certainly welcome the help. I'll tag you when it comes in as well as what I can pull from you YT videos. Beemer fan here too ;) Have an e36 and X5M.

you must have misunderstood what he told you.

the Prema VBIOS does NOT allow you to overclock, it's simply a VBIOS that can unlock certain controls like more voltage, prevent, throttling, etc...... It does not have any interface for you to play with anything, you can overclock the GPU from the Clevo Control Center OR using MSI Afterburner.

there is no video online for the VBIOS, it hasn't even been released yet AND, there's nothing to see in a VBIOS

    Benefits of Prema VBIOS:

    • Power throttle disabled
    • Over-voltage slider enabled and adjusted (up to a maximum of 1.2v)
    • Activated and adjusted thermal slider (to keep it cooler if desired)
    • Core overclock slider limit raised
    • Power consumption meter activated
    • Fixed 3D voltage base-line in order to stabilize OCs and voltage-match both cards in SLI systems (based on average ASIC)
    • Thermal protection @ 92c (once*91c are breached the system throttles volts and clocks in order to protect it)
    • Protection against Furmark and Kombustor GPU burnout (AVOID those software even with stock vBIOS)!

@Phoenix Can i also overclock the CPU using MSI afterburner?

When I saw NCIX tech tips channel's video "How much VRAM do I need" then Linus Sebastian, the video's presenter alluded that having more than one GPU in a laptop doesn't always give better performance. And yes, he also told in the video that if combining two 8GB GTX 1080s doesn't mean a total of 16GB of VRAM in the laptop.

    2. Can you please guide me that should I go with two GTX 1080s or with only one GTX 1080?
Because HIDevolution offers me an option of buying two GTX 1080s at the time of purchase with IC Diamond between the GPU and its heat sink and Vapor Chamber GPU & CPU Heat Sink Set disabling the chance of overheating in CPU and GPU as this problem arrives in the hardware of alienware laptops.

    What's your recommendation to me?

    Thanks in advance......

Firstly, please create your own thread to ask these questions. This thread is for the OP and has been hijacked enough. It is for sharing HIS experience with HIS purchase not for us to discuss options and opinions and tips. [IMG]

Secondly, having two video cards running in SLI does NOT combine the RAM that they have. So if you have two GTX 1080s with 8GB of VRAM on each, you essentially still have 8GB of usable memory that is usable. That's how SLI works unfortunately.

Thirdly, if you have the money, sure, go for it, having 2 GTX 1080 in SLI is always better BUT here's the catch. In benchmarks, you would smoke ANY system out there with a single GTX 1080 anytime of the day. Period. Will you experience double the performance in games? not double, but improved performance, and that depends on the game. Certain games make very good use of SLI and scale well while others don't scale as good. So you need to look at the games you play most or your favorite games that is, then research by searching for those games with the term SLI to see what other users say about the scaling and how well they perform. Don't ask me as I'm no gamer and have no time for games.

The Vapor Chamber heatsink is great though, it helps reduce the temps

And no, you cannot overclock the CPU using MSI Afterburner, you use the BIOS to overclock or the built in CPU overclocking tool bundled with the Clevo Control Center or Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.

    Conclusion - A solid 9 out of 10!

Really, everything was ideal except for one small criticism. I ordered a Cooler Master U3 since I had not brought my other pad from home while working on the road since my GPU was on it's way out and knew I wouldn't be stressing the system on anything. This item wasn't delivered with the KM1. Now, mistakes are made, accidents happen. You have never even walked past a person who hasn't experienced those things. It's how we deal with those incidents that is important. It was handled perfectly. I got a reply within a day and once I gave them an updated shipping address, the U3 had to be on it's way within minutes to have arrived at my door a couple days. Well done!

I would absolutely recommend HIDevolution and will almost certainly use them in the future.

@Phoenix , just wanted to tag you as I'm about to begin sorting things out for a bloat-free W10 install. Seriously appreciate all of the effort you put in to the walkthroughs and tutorials. I think I have a decent grasp of the task thanks to those threads. One quick question though. I did have to install the stock version so that I could use it immediately for work when my old machine's GPU finally gave out. Do I need to format the drives (Raid0) like I used to when I would do clean installs? Sorry, haven't needed to start from scratch in a very long time.

I'm afraid you lost me there, what do you mean do you have to format your drives in RAID 0? did you not order it with the drives and OS already setup like that? if not, then follow this in preparation for our session tomorrow (NBR Windows 10 Clean Installation Guide)
as its 4 AM here in Dubai now and I'm gonna hit the sac.

Please tag me tomorrow as a reminder

Sorry, I should have been more clear, @Phoenix The machine came with W10 installed in a Raid 0 configuration. In XP, which was the last time I did frequent fresh OS installs, I would usually just format the single drive in order to make sure no trace of the OS was there, before reinstalling. Now, I'm not sure if I should delete everything first or just use one of the options in Start>Settings>Update & Security>Recovery?

I decided to just make a bootable USB using your OS build here http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/windows-10-creators-update-bloatware-free-edition.804247/ I can use your Clean Install and Tweaks threads to clean up after that. I have a second question though. You've said to make sure I only have one drive attached before installing so that W doesn't put any files on a 2nd drive. I have a mechanical drive for data. Do I need to physically open the bottom and disconnect the drive or is it sufficient to disable/remove the drive through Device Manager? Sorry for the ignorance, it's been a while I'm great with hardware but software is a voodoo that unless I have a precise recipe, I always have a fear of screwing it up.

I still don't understand why you wanna touch anything if it already has Windows 10 installed in RAID 0. All you need is my tweaks, whether you wanna do them alone or you want me to connect to you via TeamViewer and do them for you is up to you.

Also, about physically removing the second drive, here is how to avoid this by a little tweak to trick Windows to not put the boot files on your slow HDD:

How to properly install Windows on a system with multiple drives

For the record, this is already mentioned in: NBR Windows 10 Clean Installation Guide

I was thinking it was better to remove the components vs just disabling them. Your start menu is non cluttered where mine has dozens of things I'd just assume get rid of. I didn't read through the entire Clean Installation thread because I had it in my head that I needed to backtrack and start with a no bloat install. But I'll just follow it through and get it sorted that way. Thanks @Phoenix !
