Never came across my mind before to be purchasing a laptop from overseas. But I did. Among the factors that contributed towards that decision were:

    1. I'm from an Asian country, even though we still get access to most of the brands out there, but we are always, yes I'll use always limited by the models of the respective brands bring in.

    2. When you're looking at another system beyond the first, I'm quite sure you would agree with me that you'll basically know what you want in your new system, having the first's limitation as your benchmark, or experience.

    3. Even though there are preferred brands available here, I am still limited to the customization that I wish to have, on my new system. And I am limited by knowledge and experience to DIY it myself, say for example, moving the OS from a 128 SSD to a bigger one.

Google came in handy, that was when I came across HIDevolution mentioned on this forums: notebookreview.com. Much said about them (HIDEvolution). @Ultra Male for one, wrote quite a bit on his experience dealing with HIDevolution, if I recalled correctly, it was also about the new system he was about to purchase which so happened to be one that I laid my eyes on too. Ultra Male also made various topics on the new system as well, his experience, tweaks, benchmarks, etc. Thanks for all taking time to document all that!

I visited HIDevolution, and I learnt for the very first time how much/far you can customize your system in countries like The States, compared to what we have over here. I began window-shopping and to cut the long story short, I wrote to HIDevolution because I wanted to put "My Ideal Laptop(s)" into the Cart and revisit it/them later, or perhaps moving them to the Wishlist, if there's some kind soul would *ahem* sponsor me one hahaha.

I had difficulties creating an account on HIDevolution back then, wrote in and Ted replied. Talked a little then he referred me to Donald.

Donald has one of the most gentle character that I've came across. Even when Ted referred me to him, and when Donald replied, he even asked "if it was okay" for him to continue from where Ted left.

Donald was very helpful, not imposing, trying his very best to help you decide on what you need, rather than squeezing the max out of your money. It was all still "toying around" with possibilities, and that session ended shortly after due to financial issues.

    Three months later.

It is possible to fund the new system now. Did the whole works again customizing the new system on HIDevolution's website, and I sent the order in.

Donald replied. Again. Or rather always?

Not only was he warm, he even recollected the conversation we had three months ago. He (I'm not saying he always will) even replied me past work hours. In fact, two staff of HIDevolution, Donald and his colleague, were still "at work" past work hours, past midnight, ensuring that my experience has been as smooth as it could be. I am impressed at such commitment shown!

    A recap of what happened:

6th June: Sent my order in.
    6th June: Donald replied.
6th June: Payment made. HIDevolution Status: Payment Review
7th June: HIDevolution Status: Payment Review Done
8th June: HIDevolution Status: Parts/Product On Order

    In Conclusion:
Totally satisfied. Really excited. Highly recommended.

Will update when the new laptop arrives.

Many thanks again to HIDevolution, NotebookReview and Ultra Male!
