    Finally my P650RS has arrived!

    My specs are a 6820hk, GTX 1070, 16GB 2400MHz ram, a 4K PLS display, and a 1TB Sandisk Ultra II ssd.

This thing flies... It also feels and looks way better than I was expecting. I ordered a custom laser engraving from HID and I'm very please with how it turned out.

HID was absolutely fantastic. I was talking with @Donald@HIDevolution since before the Pascal mobile cards even came out about laser engraving and other questions about the P650 chassis in general and he was always responsive. Once I placed my order he took it even further, responding to some of my emails at 1a.m. his time. We went back and forth several times about the laser engraving, and he informed me promptly that the 6820hk + 4k combo got backordered and would take longer than expected. To compensate he upgraded my ram clockspeed from 2133 to 2400Mhz for free. So considering I wasn't in a rush I was more than pleased. I'm sure he was tired of the amount of emails I sent (wayyyy too many), but he was always responsive and professional.

Donald did you guys like factory overclock or something? I have the highest 1070 clockspeeds I've ever seen reported with no overclocking on my part and 1911MHz in Unigine Valley.

cpu and gpu idle at 30C and 29C respectively, and under load the cpu hits around 70C, and the gpu 74C.

10/10 will by from HID again, and the Prema bios isn't even out yet!

Here's a pic of the engraving Donald + everyone else interested:

I was in a bit of a rush to order because my old Lenovo, which was on its last legs, finally had the screen die. So my priority was to find a place that had the chassis I needed in stock. But man am I glad I ended up with HIDevolution. @Donald@HIDevolution was great and helped talk me through everything about the laptop. @Galm17 and others have already answered a lot of my questions over the last couple of months, so I just had to finally commit to something. So far I am really pleased.

The engraving looks great! I considered doing something after you brought it up in another thread, but it would take longer and I want to be able to use the laptop in professional meetings without getting strange looks. So I went for the super clean look with no logo no nothing.

    Cheers.

wow I am on the same boat as well, I am going to school atm using a dis-functional lenovo laptop that the screens dies when you close the lid and so I really in need of a laptop especially for those labs! But emailing Donald@HID like constantly on the ETA and it might be driving both of us crazy!

I paid for the rush processing. Really my own fault - should have ordered the new laptop a month ago, but I kept waiting. Donald checked for me and said they had everything in stock except maybe the SSD, which would take at most a couple of days to get. So 1-5 days at HID, and then up to another 5 shipping from California to DC. So two weeks tops, and hopefully maybe even just a week.

Once they had the parts in my build only took a few days. I also was semi considering meetings with my logo, its purposely pretty minimalist, it kinda just looks like a brand no ones heard of, though its more aggressive than like a Dell logo, its not flashy like an AW or a lot of MSI options.

I honestly don't like my logo on the top since it tends to scratch easily if not the logo then the metal in general. I am trying to get a vinyl skin or something to cover since I am wishing this laptop would last more than 5 years not only performance but the overall build quality.

But wow Donald@HID is very dedicated he emailed me at 2am in the morning and then later in the early morning. Now the question is does he sleep?

I paid for rush processing too but I don't know how long since it is case to case. Someone gets it base on stock and if your model isn't on stock then you might be waiting awhile. I wish we can get the exactly stock so ppl can get informed of stock issues rather than emailing all the time.

I called and asked to double-check that it was in stock. Took only a few minutes. I know that it's not as nice as having all the information available somewhere, but it's a minor inconvenience at the worst.

Exactly but even that costs a lot of man hour to maintain I can vouch for that since I have to document inventory for all computers at my workplace

    Thanks @Galm17

The nVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 speeds are Core Speed * 1443 - 1645 (Boost) MHz.

I think that there is a issue with Unigine Valley because I have a GTX970 and Core Speed * 1050 - 1178 (Boost) MHz but Unigine it shows me 1455MHz so I don't think that it is reporting correctly. Please install MSI Afterburner and monitor the speed on that while Unigine is running.

Afterburner was still reporting 1834. So lower, but still a pretty good speed. Thanks for the quick reply Donald!

That's actually a relief, my firestrike score was making no sense if it was clocked that high.
