I received my P870DM today (6700K / GTX 980 / 16GB2133 /1TB5400rpm /Killer1535 /1080p) custom config. I wanted to buy through Amazon to use a gift card and they were able to take my custom order and convert it into an Amazon product so I could purchase through the site. I didn't pay for anything extra for shipping/expedited service ($2759 total). I ordered on the weekend (12/26) and received the product in a week on the following Tuesday (1/5) (6 business days). Extremely happy with both with willingness to setup the Amazon listing and their responsiveness on the build/shipping, especially with the holidays.
The laptop arrived with 0 defects that I can find so far. Monitor looks fantastic, build is as ordered. This includes the 30 day dead pixel warranty & extended 2 year warranty for free but here's hoping I never have to use either. My ASIC score is 73.8 and my temps are super low on both GPU and CPU. I've only downvolted 130mv and am running 44/42 overclock. This included the free Diamond paste. Yes, the sound on this laptop is the loudest I've heard (way better compared to a Asus G752 I had for a bit).
Price was cheaper than any other builder/reseller (and I'm pretty sure I checked them all) due to my custom order of a 5400RPM drive just so I had a boot drive image before I cloned it to an SSD. I did not get an NBR discount as I didn't think to ask for it before I requested the listing, but their sigs say they offer it so wouldn't hurt to ask in the future. I'm now running a 850Pro SSD for the boot, and 2x256 950Pro NVMe, hopefully to be in a raid0 soon.
I honestly don't get why Prostar isn't more prevalent in here. They are super responsive in both sales and builds, and are one of the only other direct builders, not to mention best prices. Their website isn't as sexy as some, but if that's what it takes to be super at everything else, keep it going! After narrowing down re-sellers/builders, I pinged a couple other companies but Prostar was the only one to fully go through the process of getting my config and adding the listing to Amazon.
I'd definitely purchase again.
Waiting to figure out the RAID thing before installing all the things, besides a few NVIDIA demos. Occulus here I come!
