    First Sager, my experience with XoticPC

    So this isn't a negative or positive commentary at this point, just documentation of my experience with XoticPC so far.

    Laptop ordered:

    Sager NP8652-S (Clevo P650SG)

    Configuration:

    Comment:

    I actually placed my order on 06/17/2015 but the order didn't process through PayPal correctly so I chatted with Megan M. and was able to resolve it pretty quickly. I also received a follow up from two additional XoticPC employees which is nice to see.

    I also took the time to change my order, removing the 4k screen for the 1080p ips and upgrading the SSD instead. I feel that I can easily upgrade the panel in the future myself if I choose to do so. I chose only factory configuration options and no custom work that required the laptop being shipped to XoticPC.

    *UPDATE 6/25*
    The Sager came in today. Looks good, powers on, will have to see how well it performs after I get some sleep. Kinda annoyed that it didn't arrive with the game code, but that's not too big a deal -just a chat away. A little more annoyed about the not free shipping but hopefully that'll be resolved soon too. Not at the point that I wish I purchased elsewhere but it's crossing my mind. I've been awake for 18 hours by the time the Sager arrived so I'll have to sleep on it before I jump to a conclusion.

    Final Thoughts.

    Ordering 7 out of 10 - It's relatively easy to order from XoticPC. Good help with chat if you order during normal business hours. The main caveat is that you'll essentially need to be well versed on the product(s) you're thinking about buying as well as the competitive models due to the multitude of customization options. I had some issue with applying the free shipping code. I would prefer all applicable discounts to be applied automatically at checkout but that is just a minor hiccup in the grand scheme of things.

    Pricing 10 out of 10 - I can only comment on the pricing for the Sager model I purchased but comparing the pricing vs. the other Sager/Clevo re-sellers they are competitive with those with the lowest prices. They are not like Venom (and similar) that want to charge almost $1,000 USD more for the same hardware.

    Service 10 out of 10 - XoticPC does a great job of having a team of employees available to help with questions and issues. Although I've read of several people having issues with their purchases what I have also noticed is that XoticPC does everything reasonable (and sometimes a bit more) to resolve these issues. I have also had order issues with them but with a little time and discussion with staff, everything has been sorted out.

    Custom work n/a - I did not order any custom service for this purchase.

    Final Verdict 9 out of 10 -Recommended. I would purchase from XoticPC again and would recommend them to my friends and family for future purchases.

    Well, it just came in. Kinda annoyed that UPS just dropped it at the door and ran without getting a signature for the signature confirmation delivery. Laptop looks good so far, still getting the software setup. Noticed that I didn't get a code for the advertised game or my free shipping. What was the benefit of me pointing out my NBR member status when placing my order? You can't remember to refund my shipping or provide a game code without several reminders. While it's nice that everyone is friendly, I'd rather not have to jump through hoops to get things you advertise. It's just not professional. I mean if I bought an MSI from Newegg I'd get everything they advertised with it, and I wouldn't have to make a comment in the order box or hit up help chat after the fact...

    Glad to hear the computer has gotten to you. We do provide the game code after the computer has been delivered. They are all provided to us digitally instead of a card or something like that, there is nothing physical we can include in the box. If you can please PM me your order number I will be happy to get a code for you.

    And what about the free shipping that I had to pay for where's the refund? I also asked about what was the benefit of putting down my NBR status? Paying for shipping and $0.01 cent more to have the Sager logo removed means I've already paid more than if I had ordered from anywhere else. Maybe you can remind me of what I get from ordering from your company.

    I can also look into the free shipping and if it was to be refunded. Normally it is applied with entering the code during checkout, but if it was not entered we can refund it after. We typically refund after the order has been shipped just in case there are any order change request before the computer ships. That way we just do one refund instead of multiples.

    For options on our configuration page we do have to assign some value to it. That is what the .01 for the no branding. I can also look into that being processed on the same refund.

    I do see the freeship was not entered into the coupon redeem box but in the comments, so that would explain why it wasn't applied to you order. I have provided the info to our billing dept to get it refunded asap along with the .01 mentioned.

    I do also see the game code you previously mentioned was emailed to you on the 26th, I hope you did get that OK.

    I will follow up with our billing dept this afternoon to make sure everything getting processed.

    Follow up: The PayPal refund is being processed and should show on your account soon.

    Ok Hutsady, I appreciate the assistance and follow up. Not entering the code was certainly my fault, I was probably too busy making sure that the order was correct after the first billing issue and overlooked entering it the second time.

    Fortunately, I did get the code for the game... although it wouldn't launch initially (who isn't having an issue with this game!?!), after I adjusted the config file it actually plays great on the laptop @60 fps maxed out.
