So this is my first time ever ordering a notebook online, in fact any PC part for that matter. I was always weary of issues with shipping and RMA'ing etc. So I've always bought my pc parts locally for peace of mind.
Anyway after a lot of research, I decided to buy a P650SE/NP8651. Only problem was in Canada, we get shafted hard on PC prices. XoticPC is too expensive after factoring in conversion rate and shipping and duties crossing the border. About $1900CAD. Reflexnotebook which is here in Canada also was stupid expensive and had the notebooks backordered until the end of this month. $1981CAD.
So i decided to go with Eurocom and their M5 Pro. It was at an amazing price and with the 10% student discount, a no brainer. It was $1534CAD shipped. Wow what a difference.
I had heard Eurocom builds their systems with IC Diamond by default. Also the systems defaults with an LG AH-IPS panel so it didn't cost me a dime extra for either.
I started off by getting a quote and info from Gary in sales. He was very helpful and answered all my questions comfortably enough that the next day I ordered.
Aug. 24th - ordered the M5 Pro online. Was contacted immediately by John from sales. Very polite and helped with any concerns I had. I wanted the shipment held at the UPS depot so I could pick it up myself. John was able to do it for me.
Aug. 26th - contacted sales with inquiry as to when the notebook would ship. Was contacted by Mark and told it would ship the next day.
Aug. 27th - Notebook shipped out from Eurocom. Scheduled for delivery next day.
All in all, ordering process was painless and the reps were all friendly and helpful.
I will update this once I receive it tomorrow. But so far Eurocom has me happy. From ordering to shipping, 3 days. That's outstanding.
*UPDATE*
Everything is running smooth and cool and fast. Extremely happy with Eurocom. Shoutouts to the team, Garry, John and Mark for being helpful and tolerating my emails haha.

Well I picked up the beauty this morning from the UPS depot. It came in perfect condition, no damage from either shipping or other reasons. Gorgeous LG AH-IPS screen(LP156WF6) A bit of back-light bleed in the bottom that turns up whenever you adjust the lid too much but goes away after the panel "settles" again for a bit. No doubt the price we pay for such a thin screen lid. But other than that. I loaded up another member's ICC profile and it looks great no doubt.
Its a very thin notebook. much thinner than I had anticipated even from videos. There is something to be said about its "industrial" look. Very gorgeous in its own way.
Opening it up is easy as pie but putting the bottom back on is a bit tough but only because it has to be lined up just right in the back first. No biggie, just took a bit of learning and trying. Installed my Evo 850 250GB and now shes tearing through windows 10 along with the 970M and the i7 4720HQ.
Which brings me to my other thoughts. Some pleasant surprises. I originally had ordered the 4710HQ but it came with a 4720HQ. Another member had mentioned they ran out of 4710's and they were just giving people 4720's instead. That is amazing as a company instead of making us wait for more 4710's. I also received a plain brushed aluminum lid top, not Eurocom logo at all. I must say the laptop is a silent sleeper with no branding when its closed. Doesn't look at all like some obnoxious gaming notebooks that are all flash. *cough cough* Alienware. So all in all, good guy Eurocom deserves credit for these upgrades at no charge. They also had a free upgrade to a Samsung 4K IPS Panel but I didnt want that for 2 reasons. 1) 970M and 4K arent exactly a good match and scaling to 1080p isnt very good either IMHO. 2)It was probably one of the pentile non RGB screens hence why it was a free upgrade. So thanks but no thanks. Still cool they offered that though, I have to give them credit for that.
Its running pretty cool too. After a -50mV Undervolt for the CPU, I max out at low 70s in CPU demanding games. 86C in prime95 with fans on auto and 73C with XTU stress test. It never goes above 60C in firestrike loops.
The GPU is even cooler with it never going over 62C in any intensive game or benchmark. Thats with a 135Mhz OC to the core and 500Mhz OC to the VRAM. Firestrike scored at around 7500-7600, i forget and I couldnt log in to save it either. Ill have to rerun to get the exact number again. This is all in a 22C ambient.
It seems Eurocom does indeed use IC diamond, as it would make sense given the lower than usual temps for a thinner chassis like this one.
All in all I am super happy with the product and Eurocom as a whole. Great service before and after and super fast too. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in Canada or near NY in the States.Last edited: Sep 3, 2015i_pk_pjers_i likes this. -
Nice review. I just placed my order on the M5 Pro as well. Gotta wait until Monday however, seems like Eurocom's off during the weekends.
Was there a huge difference after calibrating the display with the icc profile? Just wondering.

Glad to know everything turned out just fine for you.
You should even be able to push your undervolt to -70mv. -
So right now in games I rarely see the CPU hit 70C even on intensive areas. Usually between 60-65C.
This thing cools great for its thin profile.
Now If only I could get rid of the damn back light bleed permanently without having the bezel slightly popped off at the top edges... Ugh...
I think I might try listening he screws
The top right one is screwed in crooked. Maybe that's my culprit. -
