Just finished the first communication pre-buying stage with Eurocom, Dan Ross was very friendly and answered to all my questions. I am buying laptop for my GF, she is studying in Kiev, and i was very pleasantly surprised that they applied 10% student discount for her without any problems! Gonna pay them on tuesday. Seems like Eurocom is a good laptop reseller for every student all around the world.
Hope there will be no dead pixels in so expensive (AUO B156HW1 v4) screen.
I will keep you updated guys. Also, i am going to make a video review of that beatifull machine.

Not bad. That 10% discount is pretty awesome, I wish other resellers would offer that! Can't wait to see the review

I hope that it won't be that bad luck.
-
glad you got good support. i remember when they had a lot of complaints on this forum. Maybe they have changed their ways?

They do however price gouge for some of their upgrades and as a buyer you have to be aware what is a good price upgrade and what isn't (there are areas where the price upgrade is actually in your favour).
Example:
reflexnotebooks.ca (base price $943):
Upgrade to i7-3610 = $73.50
upgrade to 95% gamut screen = $80
upgrade to 6x blu-ray player = $84
(comes with 8gb memory standard)
eurocom (base price $899)
upgrade to i7-3610 = $50
upgrade to 95% gamut screen = $70
upgrade to 6x blu-ray player = $120
upgrade from 4gb to 8gb memory = $120 (I can buy 4gb memory at future shop for $20....) -
thats good to know.

anyone tried their trade in program?
-
I made payment a few days ago and they will ship it tomorrow, nice to know that, will update soon.
-
I'd be curious what the setup is and the price just to see how the 10% discount compares to the competition.
-
10% is quite a bit. I think they are trying to win back lost customers from their previous mistakes.
Although I gotta agree that they've stepped their game up recently.
Their website still looks like crap though... -
the 10% student discount is nice but the upgrades are way pricier ($300 for 7970 upgrade, for ex)
-
Just got this laptop, it's cool, good packaged, Eurocom team did exellent work. For the first look the screen is awesome, was very surprised to found "perfect screen" sticker on it, i'm glad that i paid for no dead pixel guarantee, it really worth it!
We are too busy this days, but will try to write review as soon as possible.
Cheers -
You have a point)) -
But good to hear Eurocomm has improved their service tremendously. If I was a student in Canada, I probably would order from Eurocomm now. -
How long did the whole process take from the time you made the payment for the laptop? Just wondering cause just ordered my Racer 2.0 recently.
