After hearing a lot of good things and and a few bad about XoticPC I decided to buy my new Sager np8651 from them. It can hold 2 7mm drives or just 1 9.5mm drive, and intending to add another drive I purchased just one with the computer. The option I chose was available whether I selected one or two drives, leading a reasonable person to assume that it was a 7mm drive. I was surprised when it arrived with a 9.5mm drive that I can't use. This despite the fact that the part number and description was identical to the configuration with 2 7mm drives.. Hard drives being as cheap as they are I probably would have been ok with it if they had made any effort at all to make it right, or at least expressed concern over the confusion. Instead, after four days and several emails with a service representative who acted like it was my fault for believing their part numbers, the answer I got basically boiled down to "tough luck". Moral of the story, don't trust XoticPC! Check to make sure they're shipping what their website says they're going to ship. I hope the few bucks they saved on that drive make up for all my future business they just lost. The computer itself rocks though, would highly recommend

Hello,
I do apologize for the trouble. We don't actually guarantee any specific HDD model or size to be used as we aren't guaranteed a specific one will be used by Sager themselves. We can't guarantee a 7mm drive, or any other size, will be used and make no assurance of that. Sorry for whatever confusion may have occurred but be sure to contact us on the sales team in the future prior or during the purchase process so we can clarify these things for you if it will impact what you have planned to do with the system. -

I did look up this case and we are in contact with Sager regarding this, I am sure if you are not happy with the drive, Sager would take it back and we could issue a refund for the drive so you could source another one? Please get in contact with your service rep to set this up.
