Hey there guys. I am new to this forum, as well as to the world of Clevo laptops. I did not know they existed until two weeks ago!

So after reading around on the net, I'd really love to buy a Clevo from one of the reputable resellers. (This site has been very informative).

One concern I have is regarding shipping a laptop internationally. With shipping and customs the laptop will cost me roughly US $3000. I am aware problems don't arise often in laptops, but it worries me if the laptop arrives and there's a problem with it. The worst I can think of is if there are a couple of dead/stuck pixels on there. I don't think I'd be able to fork out another $400 to get it shipped back to the US to get it fixed.

So my question is this, are there a lot of folks on this forum with experience in having their laptops shipped internationally? (I live in Dubai by the way). Do I just not take the risk and drop the idea?

Again, thanks to everybody in this forum in advance. It's been very informative.

Thanks Jaug. I feel better knowing that others have shipped all the way over here with no issues. Ahmed had gone with USPS, I think I'll go with UPS, I don't think I'd be as patient as him!

Also, I just chatted with an xoticpc rep, Hutsady. He was quite helpful on the topic as well. So I think I'm going to go for it and get me a new laptop!

By the way, Jaug, I couldn't figure out how to pm ahmed, I think because I just opened my account, I need a few posts before I can message people in private.

    Ah perfect :D
Yes I reckon you need 5 - 10 more posts on the forum before you can PM someone, sorry for not pointing it out, other than that you are good to go ;)

It's also worth pointing out that if you're worried about dead pixels, they do happen from time to time. So the no-dead-pixel guarantee may be worth it to you so you don't have any worries. Other than that, if you had dead parts (or something that died during the span of your warranty), your reseller may be able to mail you just the replacement part rather than having you ship the whole laptop. It's just something worth asking about if you want the convenience.
